“Tomorrow is Another Day” Depicts Grim Lives of Prisoners

TVB’s Tomorrow Is Another Day <再戰明天> starring Lawrence Ng (吳啟華), Kate Tsui (徐子珊), Vincent Wong (王浩信), Kenny Wong (黃德斌), Tracy Chu (朱千雪), and Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎), is set to air on October 6. The drama will take over Line Walker’s <使徒行者> time slot.

Unlike other crime or procedural dramas, Tomorrow is Another Day is TVB’s first series to focus solely on Hong Kong’s correctional facilities. Set and filmed directly from Stanley Prison, the drama will focus on the challenges the correctional officers face when dealing with the toughest criminals.

Three Different Types of Love

Not only does Tomorrow is Another Day touch upon the struggles of both criminals and correctional officers, but it also introduces three unique love stories. Having Kate Tsui since he was young, Lawrence has always seen her as a niece. Well-respected and law-abiding Lawrence falls in love with Kate, who is 15 years his junior, despite his initial concerns over their age gap.

On the other hand, the generous correctional officer Vincent Wong shows compassion toward one of the female prisoners, Josie Ho (何超儀). Not minding the age gap and crossing the boundaries of falling in love with a prisoner, Q Sir becomes attracted to the pitiful single mother.

New rehabilitation specialist, Tracy Chu, is added to the correctional team at Stanley Prison under the leadership of chief officer, Kenny Wong. Lacking experience on the job, Tracy’s arrival was not smooth and she encounters many problems with the criminals. Feeling dejected, Kenny offers support and helps her pick herself up again. Even though Kenny is Tracy’s superior, he begins to take a special liking to Tracy after spending much time together.

  1. darnit a series w/ KATE and her pouty fake lashes and purposely pouting lips

    1. Vincent Wong is doing a good job…but Kate Tsui just doesn’t fit in…tired of her squeaky voice…Lawrence Ng is perfect, as always.

  2. Kate Tsui’s lips are slippery and sliding all over my deek.

  3. I don’t like the casts much at all esp Kate Tsui. Vincent dude w/that woman? Wow, wouldn’t the age gap be a bit obvious?
I mean at least this Ng guy still looks ok to pair up w/youngsters n Kate is not that young looking.

    1. Kate is not young…but she is acting cute and that makes my hair stand. Lawrence can hold his age well.

  4. So all the couples have big age gaps? At first I was interested but now with these pairings I think I’m gonna skip.

  5. This series is going to tank. I can’t see how a prison series is going to get high ratings.

How did this become an anniversary series?

TV programmer show be sacked for scheduling this?

  6. I get the feeling the theme is actually about May-December romances disguised as a prison drama what-not. All 3 pairings feature large age gaps. None of the couples look compatible.

  7. Josie Ho used to look hot, but the pic above depicts a matured side of her…hardly recognize her until the article mentioned her name in the casts.

  8. In the end, it’s still all about the love stories.

  9. They should make that dark drama with Krystal, Louisa & Leila Tong again. That drama was awesome.

    1. I completely agreed. It was soooo good just like female version of PRISON BREAK hahaa..LOVE that series.

  10. I think this drama is just gonna suck. Even <> and <> look much much more interesting than THIS. Definitely a no-no.
