• Really happy for Tracy, Vincent and the rest of the cast. Over Run Over was truly an amazing drama, and everyone involved did an amazing job, from the production to the scriptwriting to the acting! Definitely a thought-provoking and detailed drama with a beautiful theme, and a beautiful relationship between the main characters as well. It's rare to find such great scriptwriting these days; I usually have high hopes for dramas only for them to end poorly or to stop making sense midway. Absolutely love Over Run Over!! PS. This drama reminds me of Storm In A Cocoon (which imo was also a really great drama, but didn't receive the attention it deserved).
  • @ayyh0 Well said and yes,it takes time to warm up to any newbies, especially the Ms. Hks that just get thrown into the spotlight with no acting experience. I think Tracy may have the innate talent to act well versus Grace and Sisley.
  • It usually takes time for me to warm up to newbies (especially MHKs, since they usually have a track record for being thrown into dramas with no experience), but Tracy was one of those that I liked onscreen RIGHT when I saw her. I didn't watch MHK 2012 so my first exposure to her was in On Call 2, and I was really impressed by her. Ever since then, I've been a fan and have been following all her dramas. It's so great to see that she's been continuously improving, and you can really tell that she's been trying hard. Her portrayal as Jil in K9 Cop is really good! Like people said - "kong girl" without being detestable. Add oil, Tracy!
  • @kaykay408 I think exactly the way you do! I find Grace a lot more unbearable because she comes across as arrogant and a little fake to me. Seems like she's in love with being the center of attention and I was quite surprised/a bit annoyed that she told everyone she thought she would win Most Improved. Somehow, everything she does/says seems fake to me. As for her acting, I don't think it's that amazing at all. All her characters are also self-righteous and arrogant too, so that also doesn't help that much in making me a fan. Sisley, on the other hand, actually seems like she would be a genuinely nice person. I know her acting hasn't been great, but I also agree that she was given two very similar roles. She was definitely unbearable in Young Charioteers, but if you dissect it, a lot of the things that her character said were stupid; so her character was already pretty stupid/childish to begin with, with or without Sisley's childish acting. Like you said, with different roles, I think we'll be able to judge Sisley's acting ability more.
  • @janet72 Noope.... she just posted a pic of her and Kevin on Instagram. Seems like she just wants the attention and spotlight back on her and she sure got it using this photo. I'm pretty sick of her getting attention by flaunting their relationship around.
  • I find the host, Lawrence Cheng, to be really irritating and rude. Some of his comments make me pretty annoyed. Also not completely relevant, but they did a mini interview with Christine Kuo, and my goodness - her Cantonese has improved so much!! And to be more relevant to this, I think Louisa lost her chance at top 3 because she didn't really stand out this time around, and she didn't have the continuous "straight A" slogan hanging around like it did for Miss HK. Miss Vancouver really stood out in terms of looks and definitely body, so I'm not surprised she won. Just the language barrier didn't show off their intelligence as much as it could have.
  • @lam86 They can be unethical in other ways. Like @jjwong said, give bonuses or monetary rewards if you want to reward someone so much. I'm sure they'd rather get money anyway. But if you're going to have an awards show, at least don't pretend everyone watching is stupid (because awards shows are for the audiences more than for the artists, let's be realistic). No one is ignorant enough to not realize that businesses need to survive but that doesn't make a rigged awards show any less silly. Also, honestly, TVB's business would probably be way more successful if they just treated their artists properly. Promote who deserves to be promoted, and they won't leave. Have a hierarchy for moving up. People leave because they're mistreated.
  • @kaykay408 Agreed. Every single other person in the category deserved it more than her. Maybe they thought we would change our minds if they showed that she was "deserving" of an award, but I'm pretty sure they just ruined her image even more. In my opinion, I think Grace only made it worse by not being humble about it, and choosing to tell people (before the awards show) that she's confident she'll get the award. If TVB/Grace just waited 1 or 2 more years, she would probably be a lot more welcome.
  • @melodylai The award is "MOST improved." None of the ladies in the category were good enough for Best Actress, but Grace also certainly did not have the most improvement of all the nominees. Yes, you can be compared if you have more than one piece of work, but you can still lose because you are not the most improved... It's sad for people like Rosina and Tracy who have actually shown more and measurable improvements over the years. I totally agree that you can't blame her for accepting job opportunities; it's just silly of TVB to have given this award to someone who didn't deserve it. Although, to be honest, I read that Grace was very vocal about getting this award and that rubs me the wrong way a little too. I'm not saying she should never win the award, but this year was clearly not her time and her improvement levels are not even that high. To me, it just seems self-centred and arrogant.
  • Grace's desire for this award kind of confuses me, to be honest. She knew she got a lot of criticism for COD and believes she's improved from it, but COD was the latest drama she's been in. So no, we have NOT seen any improvement (only digression if you actually compare Raising the Bar to Captain of Destiny). If I were her, I would rather win when I've actually shown some improvement. She seems awfully confident in her acting skills. Even Sisley, who's had more leads, isn't pining for this. I don't know why but it just makes me dislike her even more.
  • @jjwong That's Ali Lee! I think from a previous article, they said this is her first drama as a leading actress.
  • Tavia is my favourite TVB actress of all time. She didn't need a beauty pageant to get into the entertainment industry; she took a class and truly worked her way up. She's the only actress to have won every category once and she is so humble. You can tell because she doesn't feel the need to post selfies on social media or anything (don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with it, but I think it says something about a celebrity who is not trying to seek even more attention), and she has basically never had any negative rumors spread about her. These are my opinions of her and are the reasons I really like her. So, I was really upset that she was given such poor roles in TVB in the past few years. After reading this article, I feel like I don't have very much left to watch at TVB now that Tavia's gone too (all the other ones I liked are mostly gone as well). But, I'm happy that she's moving onto greater things and she's always going to be my favorite! I truly wish her all the best. She's got her own little legacy at TVB that a lot of people won't forget :)
  • @kidd This is totally not relevant but those were 3 of my fave series this year too! I think Smooth Talker and Under The Veil are so underrated even though they're way better than the extremely overrated series like Captain of Destiny.
  • @jjwong Agreed. I definitely think Rosina did a wonderful job, but a lot of it is definitely owed to the fact that her character was much more interesting and with more depth. Poor Tavia has been getting the worst roles lately, and all of them are the same. Hopefully they'll give her some more dynamic roles!
  • @hkeni I completely agree with this. Grace is in every 3rd article these days, and 90% of those articles are about her love life with Kevin. Their relationship isn't even that interesting.
