• @bubbles23 well said, totally agree. The man has the Hollywood population fooled to the core. Then again, they are just like him. Come to think of it, he still has a lot of the Asian masses brainwashed too, how sad.
  • My two cents is that everyone needs some sort of closure. Elaine needs some parenting help and Etta needs to realize that life has ups and downs, but family is family and both Elaine and Etta have to respect each other. I wished that Jacky Chan stopped getting all that attention and praise from Hollywood because he's a major reason why both these people turned out the way they are.
  • Now these are nice maternity photos. Congrats Lynn
  • I agree ? Niki and Tavia looked like a mullion bucks. All the others, especially the winners looks were all too bridal like. I think Priscilla's dress is from kevolie. She generally plays it safe. I am quite disappointed at Ali's looo especially since she was a hot favourite to won. Her dresses from Singapore and Malaysia were much prettier.
  • @lam86 Why not? My Ages Apart was funny but was all over the place. Legal Mavericks had a typical legal drama plot, Unholy Alliance... Lol it was really bad. Destination Nowhere everyone forgot about. Hm... looks like Exorcist Meter had the best plot but was not as popular with older viewers. What is your pick then?
  • So this awards was just diving meat up. 5 winners for best variety program? ... Rebecca Zhu winning BSA? Sam Ko or Zoie Tam easily beats her in terms of acting and seniority. Natalie won bc Jessica didn't come. I cannot believe Kristal and and Elena Kong did not get nominated for BA. Tiger Mom Blues should have won for best drama. My Ages Apart won cause it was an anniversary drama, and they couldn't have Exorcists Meter win two awards. Joel Chan was deserving, but imo not for his role in unholy alliance. Sad that LLL didnt get a nom for his role in LM. The only deserving award was Mayanne, Kenneth, and Vincent. Vincent seemed too eager to win it, his speech was really templated. Also no one was that well dressed tonight that they stood out from the rest. ( Oh wait, we have Tavia and Niki!)
  • @elizabeth Have you noticed what they do at the breakfast scenes? They still eat hotdog sausages and eggs , despite being in a multi-million dollar home!
  • Honestly TVB's Top 20 for nominations is complete BS because how many of these are actually memorable performances? I could barely recall that Alice Chan was in LW2 and Fred Cheng on that list of BSA is an embarrassment (I'm sorry if I'm being harsh) and disrespect for Lo Lok Lam. If we want to put credit where it deserves.... imo LLL is worthy of BSA. If not, Owen Cheung is a solid pick to promote the younger actors. I get that there's hype for Joel Chan.... but honestly his role was pretty one sided and didn't have much character struggle. I fail to see how his role is BSA worthy. Tbb may give him MFMC (Though I truly believe that Ben Yuen deserved it this year instead of last year. Though that's a good fight between him, Vincent, and Kenneth.) I swear the Best Supporting Actress award always goes to someone with a role that's not very memorable (likely they deserved it because of years of improvement). IMO, I think Samantha Ko should be in the Top 5. If Sisley was in for BSA instead of BA she might get further into the Nominations. As usual, there's not much competition for BSActress. Best Actress.... wow so tvb just took Ali out of contention by nominating her role in My Ages Apart.... Looks like it's going to Jessica because peeps don't remember Kristal's epic performance in DN. That was some personality twist that I think Kristal deserves the BA for! Best Actor.... Can we just give it to Vincent, because dude has been carrying tvb on his shoulders for whichever drama he is in. I know Kenneth was good and all.... But I don't see how he was outstanding, so to speak. The Unholy Alliance better not win anything. That was a poor . poor series and no one (maybe Joel) should be nominated. Seriously. I would be so so happy if a low hype series like Tiger Mom Blues won something, because that drama was so natural and so genuine. Elena def deserves at least a Top 5 nomination.
  • My Ages Apart is surprisingly a genuinely crazy hilarious drama! It's stupidly witty and the actors are great. Moses really nailed his character and after his boring roles in Ghost Relativity series he shines again as a comedic actor. Ali is really showing some BA potential because she's totally owning her scenes. Bobby is just pleasant to watch all the time. I hope TVB doesn't forget Kristal for the nominations because she's been solid in Destination Nowhere and in this one as well.
  • As a late millennial, I only recall sitcoms up to War of Genders. Interesting to find out that Best Selling Secrets has won award. Come Home Love was really good. I think this sitcom has outshone most of TVB's prime time dramas during the time it aired.
  • Have always thought that Selina is the best actress in the nonsense club. She just failed to get a popular role. Hope she'll have more opportunities abroad and at tvb
  • Cheuk Sir was for me like a narrator of the whole drama. He finds out the backstory for each individual, albeit sometimes too late. And yes, he doesnt really hv char development. We actually know very little about this character. I am thoroughly impressed with Ben Yuen as Paradise. He was very believable and provided the looks, action, and emotions. A lot of ppl r bashing on Priscilla as usual. I watched ep 29 like three times and unfortunately her perf really isn't as natural as her other lead roles. I don't see a UC,, I just see Priscilla being awkward. (But side note her scenes with her mother were good). Ithink half of it is the script, she speaks too much for a noob UC like ah mui and the storyline development between her and lok siu was too erratic and just seemed unnatural bc of the scene progression and their lines. Joman Chang is truly a gem for HK small screen. She's a natural actor and has a pretty face. I really wished hktv continued to film The Borderline 2. You can definitely tell LW2 is very So Man Chung style if u had watched The borderline. Fast story line and no unnecessary scenes with characters to fill the 45 mins, except there are plot holes here n there but you wont notice cause of the thrill. Im okay with a trilogy if they just did a better job at casting ppl!
  • speaking of dresses, I Hop Jayne can bring back Jaynestyle and track this year's red carpet looks!
  • I've been waiting for this article for days... Guys. The most questionable award isn't Ali's . (Honestly, there's been zero competition for Best Actress in a while. They can't give it to Kristal or Nancy every time). The most questionable one was Jacqueline's BSA. HOW ON EARTH did she beat Ko Ling or Koni Lui (both senior and better at acting) to it??? That series was not even good. I'd be less surprised if Ali won BSA as Rachel honestly. Anyhow, we can all start guessing the winners for Hong Kong! Would they really give BA to Nina Paw? I think Joel will win for My Favourite Male Character, but imo Ben Yuen was surprisingly better as Paradise in LW2 than in AFWFW. As usual, Best Supporting Male has the most competition: Owen, LLL, both from Legal Mavericks, and let's not forget Lai Lok Yi as Hanson! haha. Anyone know when noms come out?
  • @linvin8 actually I think starhub is somewhat rigged if Mandy Wong is able to win an award. Just how popular is she really? anyways, that Fav Char award is pretty much a participation award, I didn't mean to single out Mandy.
  • @jimmyszeto @jjwong I'm sorry that my comment got yall upset, didn't mean to. I'm not hating on Lam, and I agree it is unfortunate most people base things off of looks. But that's apparently how it is, and how the industry is. Many people I know, do in fact avoid watching shows with people that aren't from their generation.
  • @jjwong I think it it is both lol , especially for the younger obes like myself he's kinda old.
  • surprised he is 40! He totally outshone the male cast in AFWFW, that's why UA is a flop cause there's no Philip. Hope he gets more recognition cause I think he's pretty good at the whole small screen thing.
  • truly Beauty and the Beast LOL. But if they are happy, who's to judge.
  • @jjwong I think a lot of people couldn't stand The Borderline because of Lam Kar Wah, which is understandable. Glad to hear some people like Priscilla. I have watched all her series since debut and I feel she's the only one able to give off a different vibe in each character, unlike Myolie or Elaine. (not hating, I like Elaine too)
