• @smurf Yes, forgot to mention how good he is with kung fu too. He's rather a little guy, but did lots of the fightings himself. He poses lots of the stances really well. Realize I have not seen Mystery of Twin Swords and a few others people listed above, I should go check them out.
  • @davy I love Dicky in all his TVB dramas but can't stand any of the Taiwanese/mainland produced ones. Not sure why but he just doesn't seem as funny in them. I also really loved him in Edge of Righteousness. It wasn't very well received in HK but is one of my favourite modern series ever. Everyone fit their roles perfectly.
  • @davy You forgot Mystery of the Twin Swords and others. I actually hated his version of Duke of Mt. Deer and Handsome Siblings. They were very bad in my opinion. D was my late best friend’s favorite actor.
  • This guy is really memorable. Today, most of the biggest actors and actresses probably have about 3-4 very good dramas under their belt, while everything else are all really crappy. With this D though, when he was young, almost any drama he did are very good to watch. All of them are my faves. Still better than today's dramas too. Kungfu Scholar Journey to the West Taiji Prodigy Chess Warriors Swordsman - Shen Yumen Duke of the Mt Deer Handsome Siblings
  • @davy yeah...but sometimes, people stuck in these victim roles can't help themselves. they know it's wrong, but they repeat what was done to them in a bid to fix what happened to them...when they should've just avoided the situation altogether. it takes a lot of self-awareness to remove themselves from these unhealthy entanglements.
  • @coralie Yes it is sad that she knows how it's like to grow up without a father, instead of learning from her mother's mistake, she took the very exact path as her mother. It even looked as if she decided to allow her children to grew up the same way as hers...by making the choice of sleeping with a married man, otherwise, does she plan to make the married man divorce? The other wife who is innocent would suffer too either way. Maybe it's one of those cases where a victim just have to repeat things in a cycle. But by no means is JC any better, Elaine and JC both made this terrible mistake together. The kid must've been through lots of bullying because of both the parents.
  • @davy the way i read it was, he slipped on the wet ground, hit his head, sustained a head injury/concussion. This may have lead to bleeding in the brain, but he has since died. At the time of the accident, they were working on a scene involving a car demonstration in the rain (hence the ground was wet).
  • Sorry for him and his family! I don't understand how he die though, is it unknown? - "He slipped on the ground and hit his head." Meaning it's from a slip to the ground? Or from the car demonstration?
  • Whether YZ is saying the truth or not, if YZ is smart he should just shut his mouth because nobody is going to view him as the better guy. He could have keep that little fame he sort of gained back from the success of Yanxi Palace, but just because he earned some attention back now, he's acting up again.
  • @littlefish YEP! In Hollywood, modern fighting can be in slow-mo. But for wuxia, we have to see real traditional Chinese kung fu. Of course actors won't have that skill, so...in the very very least, the bar was already set very low enough to something like how people fight in the 2000's. Like Vicki Zhao always played being bad at kung fu such as Little Swallow and Lu Jian Ping but look at how intricate her movements and jumps were? That was not even bad kung fu. People were easily fooled to think that she is actually so good at kung fu. It is just unbelievable today how no one can even meet that standard. Yet, they posted a bunch of news of how hard working they were to stay under the sun to do a few jumps. Seriously, actors in the past wore rags and rolled into mud puddles and looked bloody everywhere, they breathed with real exhaustion with their faces all red and real sweat. Today, everyone wear new clothes with some dirt printed on it they think it looked dirty enough...and one skinny slice on the face is considered a very big injury.
  • This is just old news... And with GLNZ not even famous anymore people still try to re-open up her old injury, is it worth it?
  • Lion King and Mi Jue are really good looking, I am rooting for a romance between them with Chen Kun creating a triangle with them. True that the kids today indeed lack a lot of these martial art skills. There was quite a bit of acrobat movements in ROCH 08 but at least XLN was able to pull off very intricate movements herself. The slow motion only paused when she put on a hard stance like doing a split or standing with 1 leg too. The kids today simply swing the sword left and right, then the editor will turn those simple movements into slow motion. Too disengaging... I remember years ago when Steven Ma played ZWJ, he was able to throw and flip his sword then catch it, the movements were hard and looked like real kung fu although it's all fake. The same thing with Alec Su. They all looked like real fighters in the TV when they're not good at it in real life. That's part of the acting and challenge in Wuxia dramas that qualified actors have to meet. It's not just about all the meat.
  • DLRB is a pretty big star because she is under YM who is a really big star. Even when DLRB was still only playing some annoying small roles, she was already famous to the point where people may not like her but they "know" who she is. About acting, her acting is only the exact same like that of Zhao Liying from Boss&Me and JOF. I wonder what that writer Wang Hailin have to say about ZLY because she's the same like DLRB, ZLY can be number one then why can't DLRB? Without fans, both the actress would be nowhere. But at least DLRB seems to have some modeling background as back up if her acting career ever falls out. I don't think Kris is all that well liked, although he has a group of substantial support. He's pretty much the same like Cai Xukun in my eyes, what is the writer Wang Hailin's opinion of Kris too ? If Kris can be popular, why can't Cai Xukun too? Which idol star today does not rely on media play and fan power? As long as they are idol star, their only reliance is good looks and fans. Calling out on DLRB and CXK only, that is not fair at all. All idol stars are the same like those 2 as well. I expect that writer should never work with any idol star ever if he hates idols so much. Although I do tend to dislike the fact how crazy idol's fans are, they attack non-idols and real serious actors i.e. Sun Li, if they ever appear like a threat to stealing their idol's lime light.
  • @msxie0714 They are still pretty but look less natural now, and it's understandable since aging is involved. But what baffles me is, I don't know if it's just the new makeup or botox in today's world that I have a hard time understanding why 20's actresses today are so young and failing to have the natural skin type like DJ and SC in their 20's.
  • @davy Dong Jie and Shu Chang are still beautiful. Wish people could appreciate the beauty of women over 30 and not denigrate them for not looking 20 forever.
  • Those awards are nothing, there are tons of good actors and actresses never get awarded but they are better than the ones who received awards. Examples like actress Dong Jie and Shu Chang when they were still young, they were extremely beautiful. They are natural beauties without plastic surgery, put on very minimal to zero make up and still look good. But they never received any awards during their primer years. Chilam is extremely handsome and charismatic. Lots of actors today do not have that either.
  • If some people are allowed to claim themselves wanting to have relationships keep "private", why can't YM and TY claim to wanting to keep their private friendship as private as possible?
  • @davy You don't have to go to a haters forum to see nasty comments of any actress. Twitter, Facebook, Insta, Youtube, Snapchat are all popular social media sites that have nasty comments aimed at the actresses you have mentioned and more. It's also not a "small amount of people", it's a LOT of people criticizing them for their looks, including wrinkles, pores, being old, fake, etc. etc. They aren't excluded from being criticized just because they aren't Asian. That is the most ignorant thing I have heard of. Also, if you are telling me the mass majority of people are commenting in one way I would love to see some numbers or well researched facts and not something you "feel" is the truth. Also, Kylie Jenner is not criticized because she has a cosmetics company, she's criticized because she's a well known celebrity. People aren't talking about her business, they are talking about her looks. They are saying she's fake, ugly and plastic. It's also funny how you mentioned American movies having "older" actresses or whatnot. There are countless "older" actresses complaining about not having enough work BECAUSE of their age. Google is your friend. My main point is, its ignorant of you to complain about C/K actresses looking fake when its exactly the same thing in anywhere around the world. You don't have to take my word for it, go on insta and search MAKEUP. You would see a million pictures of Asian AND Non Asian women wearing makeup and looking different than NOT wearing makeup. It's somehow shocking to men like you that women wearing makeup would make them look different.
