• @jessehsuan I don't think Grace is jealous or if she is, she and because of her religion, I have a feeling she seems to know how to control the jealousy. Plus, she doesn't have much to be envious about besides the fact that Sisley has lead 3 dramas this year and she has only appeared in one. She had more meaty roles and dramas released last year so I'm sure it's just a matter of when TVB decides to release them. I think Grace gets casted in bigger productions even if she isn't always the lead and somehow she's lucky in that sense because she gets to work with many veterans. I don't think she meant that filming a movie isn't a good learning experience, but there is more screen time to practice and hone your acting skills in a drama, which is longer in length. I personally enjoy watching dramas over movies (at least Chinese dramas over Chinese movies) for that reason. You get to see the characters develop and build a relationship with them even if it's only virtually. Sisley and Grace just gets to learn from different veteran actors, that's all.
  • After 2 months and you are barely texting each other? This hardly seems like something serious. Don't see this working out because of the long distance. I know Bosco said he wanted someone independent, but there is a fine line when that person becomes so independent that she realizes she might not need him either. But I agree that if he really doesn't need the relationship, financial stability does sounds better for a man. Most male celebs don't marry until much later. Him Law was just the exception.
  • So I'm not the only one who thinks Grace's acting is more tamed here. Another reason to love the couple more. He makes her a better actress. :)
  • I like this couple! Grace is so candid and open talking about their relationship, it's definitely going well. I'm not surprised that Kevin is mature and considerate like she says. That would usually come with age for most actors who has a reflective side and has failed before and learned to be resilient. Kevin looks naturally younger than he is so the age gap is more of a number than anything else.
  • Wow HOG was filmed almost 10 years ago since it's air date. Time really flies and if Susanna didn't mention her age, I wouldn't even think of it. Not that I'm interested in the third installment, just commenting...
  • The reception for this series doesn't seem to be that good so far. It started off fast and with an interesting premise and enough suspense, but after episode 6 or so it slows down a bit. Now it seems like Kay just hangs around Kevin aimlessly, just waiting to be loved back. Don't know where they are taking her character and what is up with this thing of hers where she wakes up and not remember what happened the night before? Hope it's not unnecessary drama. At first it was hard to find out how many eps total there was, but it hits at least 30 I saw somewhere. Hope it doesn't get draggy. Still hopeful and wants the series to do well. At this point I feel like the supporting characters are more mysterious. Hope Eddie Kwan has more interaction with the main cast. Joel Chan just seemed to disappeared off of the earth.
  • Not sure what the criticisms towards Kay are. She's fine, but not an engaging enough actress, but I would only expect that from her singing background. I'm really digging Kevin in this though haha. Anyway, I really like the fresh cast here and the storyline is different by TVB standards. Enjoying this so far!
  • Lol they have the rest of their lives together. Is it really necessary to say that she wants to make up for lost time? I mean he is all hers now. xD
  • I like this article and I'm not too surprised to hear that Tavia had inspired and changed him for the better. It only makes sense since Tavia has always been a good girl, almost to the point where people thought she was boring because she didn't have any scandals. But she seems like someone who has her own principles and Kidd reminded me of Him's incident with Teresa and she's older than him, so it all somehow comes together. I guess my next point is why Tavia chose Him? Since they are almost two different generation of stars, I didn't really see the point that Tavia really needs him for support or praise. I guess I won't be convinced unless there was something deeper.
  • @kidd I completely forgot about the Him and Theresa thing. Now that he had Tavia are married, I'm wondering what he saw in Theresa that made him date her since the two women seem quite different in personality. Tavia seems like an all around mature person, even since her early career. I don't know much about Theresa as a person tho. Maybe it's Him who changed and matured as a person, but I'd admit the turn around seems so quick and effective, whatever happened in between. But I trust Tavia's decisions so there must be something that he likes about Him. I'm quite neutral on the couple. But yes, most actors aren't ready to get married at 31 today. Not even women, let alone men. I suppose if Tavia is really the one, it doesn't matter the age. The nature of the relationship doesn't change much if it's a steady relationship, I don't think.
  • She looks so vibrant in the photo above! Queenie seems like one of those actresses who never aged, but she just looks naturally mature in a great way. She has a very mature look even when she entered the industry in her 20's and was getting roles as someone's wife or mistress already. Such a pity that she didn't get a memorable role until CHL and then they wrote her off. But agree with the other person, not sure what is up with her and her scandals, but nevertheless, I still wouldn't mind watching her. Her taste in men is also a bit unusual...
  • I have mixed feelings. I'm not surprised that Tavia would want to get married, maybe because she's at about the same stage as Myolie in terms of career and age where they have reached a certain level and it just makes sense to move onto the next stage in life. Not sure what else is in store for Tavia in terms of career because she doesn't seem to have a market in mainland China, so while she is still free, it just seems like the thing to do. Him seems serious about Tavia and I really like how Him hasn't reached the A-lister status yet, but still open to marriage. This gives hope that not every guy is looking to achieve a certain level of success in their career before they get married. In those cases, it just seems like when the woman is ready to get married, but the guy isn't, they will just break up and the woman will find someone is ready. It's not bad or wrong of course, it's just a pattern that seems to happen.
  • @happybi Haha! Your list is so on point.
  • I think TVB should invest more in their young, rising star talent by requiring them to complete an acting training class or something. I believe it still exists and it's interesting and funny at the same time that some artists go through it and others don't. Not that veterans aren't good, but they seem come and go as they wish and TVB can't always rely on them forever. Sheren has been back and gone again and again and there always seems to be some kind of drama going. It's either TVB doesn't value it's people or rumors like artists overvaluing themselves and acting like a diva. It a lot of work for only a one time gig when they should be investing in their young talent, who usually signs on with them for at least 8-10 years. There's also that trend when TVB is faster at promoting their females than male, resulting in so many large age gap couples. Let's not think too far back, but Short End of the Stick demonstrates this all the way. Wayne, Power, Raymond are all in their late 40's and early 50's and Nancy, Grace, and Rosina are all in their thirties and late twenties, respectively. It's entire 3 generations of stars all mixed into one. TVB really hasn't created any fan-worthy or cute couples in too many years. Raymond and Tracy were very physically compatible in K9 Cops.
  • Sounds like a fun series and it's either going to be shockingly great or lame because there aren't any big names here lol. Tracy has been pretty lucky since her debut and able to try many different types of roles so far.
  • I've actually been enjoying Fashion War. Had expectations for the drama and really prayed that they can pull off another one and so far, the storyline has been good. Let's just say that I'm happy that there is a storyline (that isn't procedural or sitcom-like) even tho the office politics thing can drain you out. TVB is always accused of copying and getting ideas from here or there. What's the big deal? Plus there are tons of new stuff getting released each week, I don't expect people who be always original. What I do care, is that TVB makes their own storyline and like Funn said, as long as they aren't copying scene for scene. Sisley is better here maybe because she has a more mature role than in Speed of Life, but I still feel she's a miscast because she's never looked fashionable enough irl.
  • @llwy12 "It is indeed sad that things have gotten to the point nowadays where ratings of high 20s / low 30s warrant celebratory dinners." Other than the declining viewers, more people are probably watching online so that affects the ratings too. While it's nothing original, at least this series has more substance than Speed of Life and K9 Cops.
  • I saw the first four episodes and like the other person above said, it's better than Speed of Life and K9 Cops in terms of having a storyline and having a bit more substance. But every plot seems to be like something TVB has explored before so there is nothing new. However, I won't say it's because of the four male leads that makes the show interesting at all. The story about how they're adapting post-Qing Dynasty is kinda lame and trivial. And even though they are somewhat different, it's hard for them to distinct among themselves and shine for some reason. Nancy and Rosina is who keeps me watching atm as they seem more independent and unique. Rosina's role where she dresses as a man is very different from what she has previously played. Also, for a comedy it's not funny enough. I see it as a regular family drama.
  • It's so cute how they address each other as Mr. Lee and Mrs. Lee. xD
  • Not sure where else Tavia can go since we don't hear that she films movies or for mainland as often as the others. Does she just not get invites or did she decline them? Her acting is much better than many TVB stars who have accepted them in the past. That said, I do agree with the others that there isn't much else left for Tavia to achieve with TVB. She has won every TVB award there is for being an actress. I still like and will remember Tavia for her early days at TVB and actually not a fan of many of her roles after 2007. I've always thought that Tavia has given TVB more while TVB spent their time investing and casted other fadans in bigger and more grand productions.
