• @jjwong No worries haha! I completely agree they are none comparable, Margot Robbie and Katy are universes apart when it comes to acting. I just meant in terms of the "idea" of the character, both share similarities in being crazy and impulsive
  • @melodylai Her crying is good, but it was hard for me to feel anything because it seemed over-the-top. Her expression changes are too abrupt and vacillate between wide eyed fury and silly school girl lust. I think it is also that her body language does not match those expressions. If she is supposed to be wild and mercurial with her moods, then her movements should also be free flowing. She stands slightly hunched and stomps when she walks. Her fighting with the spinning daggers look good, but her kicks aren't powerful or graceful. She doesn't have the flexibility of a fighter. So that isn't due to editing, but her limitations. I can't blame her totally for that. The action director should realize those limits and work around it. But overall, I think she is miscast in this role.
  • @melodylai Eeeeh neither Dark Angel nor Katy is any where near comparable to Harley Quinn and Margot. I'm not a fan of HQ in general or how she's romanticized in recent portrayal. But DA is another half-arse "out of the box" char that is self-claimed by TVB.

  • I was surprised to see the 16 candidates were already all HK based, but then I read elsewhere that they are to announce the overseas candidates at a later date. Also nice to see quite a few contestants having ties to UK and other places, rather than just USA and Canada for a change!
  • Am I the only one that doesn't understand the criticism towards her facial expressions and exaggeration for this specific series/character? From my perspective her character is suppose to be wild and crazy, and maybe psychotic? A bit like Harley Quinn? If you think her action scenes are clunky it's most likely due to it being either slowed down or fast forwarded in post production during editing, so that you can see the moves clearer.. that's my take on it lol
  • It wasn’t actually phoebe that revealed it, I think being in the industry and having a child of her own, she’s smarter than that to take the special moment away from the expecting mother. The real culprit was Grace’s friend Allie Chan who she does a lot of charity work with. Allie posted the gender reveal on her IG stories but will have disappeared by now due to it being 24 hours (her fan IG has reuploaded it though!).
  • To me, it seems Flow has some rooted hatred for Jackson to go off like that, sure everyone has an opinion and likes a good rant, but his seem to hold a degree of anger. Also, he says all this but was sooo quick to defend JW in her scandal, almost twisting it and putting the blame on Kenneth making out she was neglected by him. Clearly this guy isn't getting enough attention and is clinging onto other people's scandals just to get his name out there.. Wong He response is 10/10 though, love it hahaha!
  • Just because they are public figures, doesn't mean they should willingly let paps take pictures of their kid, they are parents first and foremost! Grace and Kevin are only protecting their son with not wanting his photos taken, I'm sure if it was just the adults, Kevin's reaction wouldn't have been so strong. (Isn't there like a law or something regarding taking photos of children?) While yes, they may have put some pictures out of their son on the internet, there really isn't that many, and its THEIR SON for goodness sake! As if people are really kicking up a fuss about them uploading pictures of their own kid out like its a crime haha! Imagine some stranger suddenly taking pictures of you and your family when out and about, how would you feel? You have no idea what that person is going to do with it or put what narrative surrounding the pictures, and for all we know, the paps could've followed them a longggg time, and he's just had enough stalking from them for one day.
  • It's ok knowing what YOU think can and cannot done, but perhaps inform and confide your co-actor/tress in the process, as your version of what is ok, may be the final straw for someone else.
  • I enjoyed this series a lot, it was something worth watching from tvb in a long time. The thing I wanted to know is who the old lady (man?) is that pushed Ah Siu into the water with the cart. They zoomed in on the 'culprit' face so I thought it was a significant character.
  • I highly doubt she is pregnant as she still has a good chance to climb at TVB. But since the marriage rumour mills are spinning very fast as of late, the rumour about the wedding really does seem true! There are some interviews with Kevin's 'groomsmen' and to say they are actors and actresses their 'pretending not to know anything' responses was so poor haha, especially Natalie Tong and Kenneth Ma. You could see straight through their reactions lol!
  • This is all still speculations since nothing is confirmed by them themselves, but since the rumour mills are spinning very fast as of late it really does seem true! I was watching some interviews with Kevin's 'groomsmen' from the Big Big Channel show the other day, and to say they are actors and actresses their 'pretending not to know anything' responses was so poor haha, especially Natalie Tong and Kenneth Ma. You could see straight through their reactions lol!
  • To say this drama starts quite soon, I've not seen much promo for it from the casts, only a few here and there from the girls, but no posts from Grace. Also in a recent promo video, it had all the girls in it but no Grace, even in the last scene where it says when it airs, there's not even an image of her. Makes me wonder how big of a role she has in it or if it's been cut down and she's no longer second female lead hmm..
  • I've always thought Helen Ng and Nancy Wu had similarities in their faces, she could so pass as Nancy's mum in a drama! And congrats to the happy couple, so sweet :)
  • I really liked the original series, and I like this one too. But I feel like a lot of the storyline in this is very similar to the first one. Also it's almost as if Priscilla and Pak Ho characters could easily have been played back by Charmaine and Raymond.
  • I'm so excited for the palace dramas, especially Deep in the Realm of Conscience! It's been a while since tvb has produced/aired their own. But I agree with others saying they need to up their game in the costume department. It wouldn't surprise me if they re-used costumes from their old palace dramas and just sewed a new thing on it and say it's new. Empress of China's costumes were simply beautiful, tvb needs to take notes! I remember loving Line Walker when it first came out, the movie however confused the heck out of me lol. I like the Pak Ho and Priscilla pairing since Seasons of Love 2, they just seem to gel and work together really well. Hope they don't ruin 2 and the plot actually flows and they manage to make a decent connection to the first series. Also looking forward to Heart of Greed, will be interesting to see the "new" younger generation in place of the "old" young generation, since so many of the old ones are a big deal these days e.g. Raymond Lam, Moses Chan, Fala Chan, Linda Chung.

  • I've actually liked Nancy since her Triumph in The Skies I days. With lots of top tvb actresses leaving, it was no wonder she won the first time round, it was either her or Kristal Tin but I was still rooting for her then since I'm a fan, but there wasn't much competition the 2nd time round at all. I was disappointed with her character in Unholy Alliance though, when she was serious it was ok, but then she over did it with the "flirting" if you'd call it that, and the sexual innuendos was flat. Judging by all the dramas that have been out so far, I think she would win for the third time, but with there being some anniversary dramas coming out soon her chances are definitely cut smaller.
  • I've read before (i think it's on this site) that she can't read much chinese characters, in dramas she has her script translated/someone to help her go through it, it is understandable though since she grew up overseas, I can relate as I was born and raised in England, I can barely read a full sentence of chinese characters.. even with having gone to chinese school for 2 years! Grace Chan aside, I'm quite surprised they let Karl host so soon, and that it's him over Jackson since he won Mr HK.
