• Very disappointing series. The script is extremely inconsistent. Too many bad things to say about this series that I'm too lazy to type them out. I've also noticed Frankie has been type cast doing very cool/handsome/smart/quiet characters. His last 3 out of 4 drama series are literally the same character just different work industry LOL. Hidden Faces, My Unfair Lady & Another Era. < In Night Shift although his character is not as rich, but still portraying a cool and quiet guy.
  • @vodka TVB and Tencent have already long agreed to collaborate, but just have not announce it yet. Script, pre-pro and casting of these 2 dramas are done so that they can announce their collaboration together with the dramas to create hype and attention. Common thing to do when big companies collaborate. Keep it a secret, and only announce when big stuffs are done and ready.
  • Excited for this, although I don't know if Benjamin Yeun can pull off a convincing triad boss. Have never been a fan of his acting, relatively wooden. But can't wait to see Pakho Chau.
  • I'm only going to watch this because of Anthony. Haven't watched a TVB drama for the past 1 year.
  • @isay Lau Ching Wan? He's been criticized for his looks every since TVB and to be honest, he is never labeled as handsome until now. But his talent brought him through to become a top movie star.
  • @llwy12 You should watch HKTV. Everyone behind the scene is ex-TVB people and the production of HKTV dramas is top quality. The lighting, camera angles, movements and so on is amazing. Story wise, very realistic. Which some people might find boring but it's very acceptable and relatable. HKTV also prove that don't have to sign a 10 year contract to be popular. They're fair and if they find the role fits you, it's yours. Unlike TVB, it is because unless the management/on top people like you, you won't get your chances as an actor/actress. One of the actor that deserve to be a main lead from TVB is Hugo Wong. Sadly he's still being a support role after being in TVB for over 10 years. Not to mention the production of current TVB dramas. It's because they want to save cost which prompt them to film 80% of all their dramas in their own studios. Like nearly every drama has a similar house/shop and what not.
  • @mike There is Elite Brigade 1 & 2 lol
  • I'm just gonna watch this for Vincent. Female leads are not so appealing, but for Vincent. :')
  • @vodka It's not really short term. It wasn't because Kevin is not doing well in Mainland that he came back to film TVB. He has a per series contract with TVB which requires him to film at least 1 drama a year with TVB and it's ending in a few months for Kevin which he is not renewing. His last drama for TVB is Vampire and it ended filming recently.
  • However true is this news, I find it funny they'd just throw any popular Asian male celebrity name onto this piece of news. The most ironic name on the list is Stephen Chow. Stephen Chow have not been in any other Director's film since 1999, with his last film from another Director was Tricky Master by Wong Jing in 1999. Not to mention Stephen Chow has much of an ego as a Director that I'm sure he would not appear in any film but his own. So much for trying to hype this news.
  • @jessamine0830 They will not re consider. This is business. It costs $1 million HKD to make 1 episode. They're barely even recouping half of what they spent on. Until they get the TV license, I'm very sure HKTV will halt production indefinitely. Anyway, they've already halt production every since the end of 2013. It's only in 2014 that they suddenly film 1 more drama, which is Election.
  • @mike ATV is failing because of it's debts getting more and more that they had to delay paying their worker's salary at one point. The TV broadcast license is approved by the government or the Chief Executive (a big post in Hong Kong equivilant to a President/Minister), which obviously they are on TVB's side and denied HKTV's license due to their many years of relationship and so on. Not to mention politics are dirty. TVB might have paid the Chief Executive money to deny HKTV's license, who knows. Buying over ATV is expensive because of their debts. If Ricky were to buy ATV, he has to repay all their debts which he did not want. There was a concrete offer from HKTV to air their dramas on ATV at the prime timeslot for 5 million HKD per month but ATV was greedy and asked for 10 million instead which of course HKTV denied.
  • Still one of my favorite actors from TVB. Love the character he portrayed in Gem of Life. To me his best performance in TVB.
  • @raymond86 Typical brainless people who watches dramas without any knowledge. As long as it has good actress/actors, you define it as a good show. There's no point in arguing with brainless people like you. HKTV's drama series are much better in quality and depth of storyline. But what am I doing explaining to you. You won't even understand. =D
