• @sas318 Both. He can’t read or write period. To be the kind of actor he was (martial arts + slapstick comedy), it wasn’t necessary for him to learn to read or write (whether Chinese or English) – he has even said himself in previous interviews that audiences don’t watch Jackie Chan movies for the plot or dialogue, they watch to see him fight…so basically, all he has to do is supplement all those fight scenes with a few memorized “funny” lines and he’s got it made…. By the way – one of the reasons the late Willie Chan stopped managing everyone else to focus only on him back then was because of the reading and writing thing…..until he got dumped by Jackie, he had worked really closely with him on every single script, speech, etc. to make sure he got it right…which is why in recent years, without Willie by his side, Jackie gets into trouble every time he opens his mouth (look at how many times over the past decade or so where his public comments have caused controversy). In one of his last interviews before he died, Willie actually revealed that the infamous “speech” Jackie gave back in 1999 when the whole Elaine thing erupted actually did not follow the “script” that he was originally given – that was one of the few times when Jackie deviated from the agreed to script back then and of course, it ended up a disaster…. As for whether he pays everything with cash — probably not because technically he can still use his credit cards in certain instances even without signature....though more often than not, it’s likely someone in his “entourage” (i.e. his assistant or manager or someone of that sort) pays for him. He has said multiple times in the past that he has no clue how much money he makes or how much money he has – all he knows is that he has money available whenever he needs to spend it. He has said before that sometimes when he goes out to dinner or whatnot, he just eats and the bill somehow gets paid (which I interpret to mean those around him take care of the bill for him).
  • Is he illiterate in English or Chinese? So he pays for everything in cash?
  • Why is Jacqueline Wong not on this list? She and Tracy Chu look so similar, I get them mixed up all the time. Samantha Ko shouldn’t be on this list at all. It’s nice to see that they’re in their late 20s to early 30s. I was expecting this to be the next generation of TVB actresses and everyone to be 23 to 25 years old.
  • He has a personal trainer. Enough said.
  • LOL, as if he can keep it in his pants. I give her a year before she leaves with her baby.
  • LOL at the English title of his new TVB drama.
  • I've always wondered why he chose to use the pinyin spelling of his name professionally instead of his American name (yes, I know he grew up in Rochester and English is his native language). I'm also curious to know why it was so important to him and Jinglei that their children have pinyin spellings instead of actual American names. If they thought their children might move to the USA one day after they're grown (is that why they wanted their daughters to have American citizenship easily?), wouldn't it be better to give them easier to pronounce, American names? Jiana is easy to say, but Jiali is a bit harder. I'm not criticizing them at all for not giving their children American names. I'm genuinely curious.
  • It is a real shame that naturally gifted actors in TVB aren't getting the big roles they deserve because the station would rathe put Grace in everything. What kind of politics is involved to promote someone who can't act very well?? It's an insult to actors who can actually act.
  • @cuckoo I don't follow Leehom's career that much, but he seemed like a regular guy until this 2-months paternity leave crap, that apparently was recommended by his FRIEND Mark Zuckerberg. Even such a seemingly harmless comment and the source of that idea speaks volumes. Everyone knows the rich and famous will mingle with other people like him, but he doesn't need to flaunt it. Now he's some untouchable, snotty celebrity when previously glancing at his Facebook page and watching interviews with him, he seemed like a regular guy.
  • Do Leehom and Mark speak Mandarin to each other? I wonder. I'm guessing English because it's the easiest. Homeboy Music? LOL. Leehom doesn't use his English name professionally and his daughter doesn't have an American name either, yet he named his publishing company (or whatever it is) Homeboy Music. Leehom is self employed, so he can take as long as you wants. I know businesses in which the owners close their business for 2 weeks straight or even a month without fear they'll lose customers because they're the owners, so they can do anything they want. I don't appreciate people like Leehom Wang or Mark Zuckerberg telling dads that taking 2 months off would be great. How many average people who don't have millions in the bank like they do can do that? Unless they saved up their vacation days that add up to 2 months?
  • I feel a bit bad for him sometimes, but this is the life he signed up for. He seems like he's going to snap one day. I could be wrong, but I think it got worse after he came back to TVB.
  • Why should he feel like he should work on getting out more? If he likes to stay home, then stay home and be PROUD of it. Not everyone in this damn world is outgoing and a people person and that's damn OKAY.
  • The bottom right one is so freaking sexy!!
  • They're all going to have to up their Mandarin.
  • @asian2015 I thought she was really private about her personal life, so that's why she's staying away from the public during her pregnancy. Besides, this is a good time to take a break and live a normal life and be with her family and friends again in Vancouver, not to mention she still has to spend time with her husband.
  • @azndoraemon I don't understand what you're complaining about. Other than Linda being a terrible liar at her banquet, she had to announce her pregnancy eventually, so she did it on Mother's Day. And she'll stay silent and announce the birth when she wants to. What's wrong with that? I thought she was really private about her personal life, so that's why she's not making any public appearances. Though I have to admit, hiding behind that stuffed owl in that promo video was just so idiotic. What's to hide? Is she ashamed of her pregnancy?
  • Holy cow. I know they're husband and wife, but not even Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have shown something like this, and you know American celebrities love to expose themselves, especially the women.
  • She looks idiotic putting that stuffed owl there to hide her pregnancy. She might as well only filmed her upper body or face since she was talking about skincare anyway.
  • Everyone branches out to China eventually.
