@snoopy Oh yes, how can I forget Leslie ! He was wonderful in both! I guess I did not mention him because it would just make me sad. My late mom rarely complimented any celebrity but complimented Leslie all the time. Leslie is truly a legend.
-
@hetieshou I guess God must have loved Leslie Cheung a little bit more because he was good at both - singing & acting.
-
@m0m0 Yea, she's a beauty. She's 48 years old and she looks prettier than most of her EGG artistes! I always thought she looks a bit like Faye Wong. This season got even more plastics than season 1. It's very hard to remember who is who.
-
@snoopy Yes, for a good novel adaptation, the author's input is a great plus. I heard 'Legend of Fei' is a disappointment to many people and one of the reason is the illogical script. Maybe if the author is involved it won't turn out like this. I personally have not watched beyond episode 2. But, I've recorded it and plan to watch it soon. I hope I won't be disappointed as well. The first 2 episodes are ok for me.

@msxie0714 Is it? It's very confusing for me. So why does web drama can't have queer relationship story?
-
@potatochip Yeah, it was her best performance but still not good enough. She was considered to be good because the others in the drama were average. Candice has the same face expression in every of her drama. She's now in Lo and Behold and she's such a bore to watch.
-
@snoopy Vivien improved a lot in that role. Still slightly stiff, but the mute aspect was a nice change. I didn't like the sappy door mat love story part though. I think Candace is a good supporting actress. She is noticeable in her roles, but I don't think she is good for lead. The others, I agree, are not fun to watch.
-
@potatochip Nay, both of them are equally forgettable. For me, Vivien Yeo, Candice Chiu, Jason Chan and Aimee Chan don't have any TV personality and cant act at all. No matter how hard they tried, I still feel that they are trying to act and not the character itself. But luckily they are all pretty and good looking.
-
@snoopy time travel dramas were banned for tv but ok for web dramas
-
@snoopy It was Mandy, as the cop and Shaun's love interest and Vivien as the cute death/mute girl and Joel's girlfriend. I had trouble remembering Mandy too, which speaks more to her weakness of leaving an impression as an actor. Vivien was good and should have gotten more recognition.
-
After reading this first line "Katy Kung will portray the heroine in the sequel" then no matter how hard I tried, I can't remember who were the female leads in Brutally Young...
-
@msxie0714 My bad. It should be “palace drama involving rivalry between the queen and concubines" instead of period drama. Before that, time-traveling dramas are banned in China too.
-
@snoopy period dramas were not banned, but put on hold for 3 months. The majority of dramas in production and still being shown are period dramas.
-
@kidd Btw, the TV version of Winter Begonia and the novel version are quite different. I watched the drama first before I read the translated novel online (the translation was just passable). I was astonished on how they tweak and turned the explicit novel in order to pass the China censorship into a bittersweet bromance drama. I believe the TV version is so amazing mainly because the author was invited in the process of writing the script. Without the author's input, I can't help but think the characters would appeared one-dimensional. If China really ban BL writing, then its really unfortunate for the us (the viewers) and the whole TV industry.
-
@snoopy "Just hope China won’t ban people writing BL online." Me too. Let writers have some freedom. Some BL really are very good in quality.
-
Sigh..I saw this coming after China banned broadcasters from airing period dramas. Just hope China won't ban people writing BL online.Tsk..I'm still hoping there would be a Winter Begonia part 2...

I didn't know Gods of Honour was Michelle Ye's first gig at acting. No wonder she was so wooden in it...On the other hand, I was very impressed with Kingdom Yuen's acting in Gods of Honour. As, I totally felt for her character especially the scene where she had to beg Benny Chan's soul to come back to the mortal realm. Her desperation brought me to tears eventhough I was a kid at that time!
-
@renren I dont think so...
-
I hope iQiyi can keep hosting this kind of event in the future, just so I can see Huang Xiaoming and Yin Zheng together!! I miss them so much!!
-
@hayden So it's not just me who is starting to get annoyed by this user who only comment 1 or 2 words on every single post...I was thinking the user must be a bot or is getting paid to do it....
