• I was just talking to someone about FH4 today. If TVB pushed out the other two Jacqueline's dramas, why did they spend so much money to re-shoot her scenes in FH4? It tires out the actors, uses lots of money, will create inconsistencies etc. From what I've heard she's not a main lead (just in parts here and there), so seems like a waste of money to do all this work if they were fine to broadcast her work anyways...
  • It actually seems like it's being contained better in China. With how the virus is being spread around the world, going to Japan is even more dangerous than staying in China. Just let them enjoy their vacation
  • The paragraph about the mortal realm arc is pretty wrong in this article. Dijun's mortal self doesn't remember his past life, but Feng Jiu knows who she is and is trying to help Dijun complete his calamity. Emperor Song doesn't expose she's dressing up as a boy, she exposes herself because she knows she needs to become his romantic interest in this life. The BTS is particularly funny because back in Eternal love, there was a BTS where Vengo couldn't pick up Reba, or was struggling to. So history has hilariously repeated itself
  • @lynn90 I agree, she's very hardworking and a great person in real life. Most of the criticism is from haters, I feel she is quite good for her age, but Jaywalk picks many scripts for her that have a similar kind of character. She needs more variety to shut the haters up
  • @lynn90 Completely agree. Reba and Vengo are perfect for the roles of Feng Jiu and Dong Hua. There's lots of subtle expressions for DH's role, and for FJ it's easy to go over-cute or annoying if they don't handle the character well. Their acting has actually improved a lot. But the scriptwriter added too much filler and unnecessary parts for the 2nd 3rd 4th leads, making it a lot less interesting. I just fast forward the parts that don't have Reba or Vengo. If they followed the timeline in the book, they may have better ratings/reviews. But going in chronological order was probably meant to not confuse people who haven't read the book. Most of the bad ratings are probably from people who haven't read the book and assume Pillowbook is a direct sequel to Eternal Love, so they're confused why the story is different. Pillowbook should be treated as an entirely new drama, then people won't get confused. Now that the mortal realm arc is done, it should get a lot more interesting, can't wait for the new episodes!
  • @tungamy she is using her kids as an excuse to return to HK...please! she can't sing, she can't act, so please don't return to do so. as for practising cantonese, it's a language which constantly requires usage.
  • @tungamy Yeah, definitely resembles mommy more, which is what Kevin said he wanted, anyway.
  • @tungamy Lol...This woman BS's alot as usual. Yup, alot of parents knowing their kids born in another country will excel in English rather than their mother tongue hence some of them enroll them in Chinese school so they will learn and keep the language other than English. But I do see some parents such as Linda Chung. I had a colleague once who is Chinese but came from Vietnam and all her daughter knows is English no viet or chi. The parents are so proud and often says you are in America you don't need to know any other language besides English. Oh boy!! Talk about ignorance. haha lol... Tons can be like her I am sure and not at all shocking esp this Linda Chung as herself often like to mix in English/Chinese even talking to HK reporters. Her other V group ladies do not do it as often which I am sure are fluent as well. She probably now didn't want to be a FT housewife in Canada probably not many there jobs anyway. Alot of foreign teachers in other countries a huge majority of them are from Canada. What can she do besides going back to HK and grab money while she still can and if kids get older will HK audience still give a crapzz about her? Lol...She's no dummy. Not a good actress/singer but not totally a dummy. haha lol
  • @tungamy well, my friend who was born in hk and went to international school there. he speaks perfect english but his cantonese sounds like an abc. then my brother in-law who came here when he was 3 and only spoke cantonese at home, speaks both perfect english and cantonese. couple of my abc friends spoke cantonese at home growing up, speak perfect cantonese. i think it's really the environment you're exposed to. if your friends and family speak to you only in one language then you would only speak that language but if your friend speaks to you in one and you are forced to speak the another at home, you would be good at that other language too.
  • @tungamy Like many parents, Linda is thinking her kids are more talented than what they really are. Saying that her child 'chooses' to respond in English is basically implying that they are quick learners of both languages but has the ability to choose what to use. The reason they are responding in English is the that the ratio of English taught whether by family or tablets whatever, is bigger than Chinese....
  • @tungamy No. Shirley was never involved in their warm gatherings long before having a child....
  • @tungamy completely agree, your first sentence is bang on. my parents were the same as your mom. my brother and I can't discuss politics but we can hold conversations in cantonese just fine - and we're born and bred in the UK. don't have to move back to HK just to practice Cantonese. seems like linda is using her kids as an 'excuse' just to return to HK
  • @cutie777 Rafael has big round eyes like Grace, which is why I think he looks more like mom as well. Maybe he'll start to look more like Kevin when he gets older. Still very handsome either way
  • @pandaxo I've wondered the same thing. I just assume that she must have been too busy with her kid to hang out with them. So their relationship with her kinda died
  • They don't CHOOSE to respond in English, she ALLOWS them to respond in English. My mom didn't let me respond in English when I was home, so it forced me practice my Cantonese. This is something I'm eternally grateful to her for as an adult because knowing another language really is useful in the real world. If Linda did the same then maybe she won't have to move back to HK just to get her kids to practice Cantinese
  • @tungamy based on what i heard, Kenneth is loved by many HongKongers, especially the aunties and mums. To be honest, while Andy probably has a good fanbase, he is mainly known as Sammi's guy.
  • @conan2209 I think she would still have luck reviving her career if she cheated on Kenneth. The main issue was Andy being in the cab. Andy has been with Sammi for so long, then finally get married, they both have so many fans. So not only is she a cheater but also a home-wrecker. I think that's the main reason why her career is unrevivable
  • @tungamy i was rather impressed as he sang well for HK standard. But now quite disappointing if it was lip sync
  • @oligodendrocytes I'm guessing they broadcasted the official version as he sang along. Because in his condition I don't think he would have been able to sing like that
  • @tungamy The media/WCL keep saying that he's got good connections in the mainland which isn't even accurate. He's got connections to go on dumb variety shows and literally nothing else. Those who are observant would see that from miles away. His church friends must be very trusting of him to get their careers screwed over.
