• @winnie Yeh I know what you mean. Some even thing sane surname means they previously were family many many generations ago but that it not true. We can look so far back and surnames evolve. I think it does not feel so bad if marry a cousin that you don’t grow up with and don’t get to see often. In different places in China, the culture might be slightly different. In some areas it might be that any cousins can marry,in some areas certain cousins can marry and then in some areas none. Since some research says there is slight increased risk, I wouldn’t try it. The risk doesn’t sound too big so if struggling to find a good partner then it can be considered....
  • @jimmyszeto Oh ... Maybe i wasn't making myself clear when i referenced surname. I meant to say the off springs from the brothers carry the same surname ... i guess that proves relations. Obviously, just because you share the same last name do not make you related. One of my college roommates was toying with the idea of dating her 1st cousin (his mom and her mom are sisters), alot of us, although Asian, but not Chinese were turn off by it, but she explained it's acceptable in chinese culture. I thought she was joking (pre-google and internet).
  • @winnie Having children with first cousin many researches say have increased chances of coming up with birth defects. Whether it is brother or sister, genetics will be similar. I don't think the surname is the most important. Maybe a stubborn Chinese will only think about surname when the grand scale of things is much more serious....
  • @jimmyszeto A chinese friends told me, it's not incest even if you married your first cousin, providing that the cousins are not children of brothers. For example, the children of two sisters, children of a brother and sister, but not children of two brothers ... because they would have the same surname. In her case, she told me if one of her sons wants to marry one of her sisters' children, it's ok, but it's not ok for him to get involve with his father's brother's children. I had just google .. and found this practice banned in 1981 ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin_marriage
  • One word ... CREEPY!!! It's sad that Ash Mayfair is so proud of exploiting a 12 year old and is riding on a 12 year old to make a name for herself. How disgusting!!! She could at least find an 18 or even 21 years old to portray, in addition to make up and lighting, it's not that hard. In the western part of the world (ie US), she would be in so much trouble. But in her neck of the woods, i guess she can use and abuse any child for her 5 minutes of fame. I am guessing the child mother was 'manipulated' and 'paid off' or blind to $$ to allow her child to be exposed to such grown up content. Afterall, Ms Mayfield was in tears to find this child, I bet she coughed up anything to get this child on board.
  • How could you say the headline "Yammie Lam Was Linked With 11 Men" was not disrespectful!?! For crying outloud, her death became public less than 2 days ago, no funeral arrangement was made, and you wanted to pay tribute by "'shedding the light" about the 'rumored men' in her life?!?! Let her rest ...
  • @winnie how strong is that trust when there's temptation everyday? you only need one moment of weakness in order to break any trust in place. compounded with distance and endless options, hell, I'd say cheating is easier than taking candy from babies. Instead of putting stock in trust, it's much better to reinforce it by "observing" him and letting her presence be known. If he knows he can't escape, he'll be resigned to his role.
  • A marriage where you have to check on your spouse, have 'spies' report back to you, cling on to him in public so people know you are married to him, that is not 17 years of blissful marriage, and if i were her, it's not something i would gloat about. That is not a loving relationship, and it is definitely not a secret to a happy marriage. If he wants to cheat, no amount of eyes prevent it. No trust, no happiness.
  • @winnie you are right. If Hawick does not know this Britney woman, that is a very bold statement to make about his marriage, or lack of marriage. What I find more puzzling is that he and a member from his production company have only denied that Hawick knows Britney. They have not uttered a word about whether he is still married, or divorced from Yang Mi. I find that rather interesting
  • They don't look cozy or friendly in the photo, in fact they look awkward, like 2 stranges coming together for a photo op. So i do think Hawick don't know her, and for her to make such a bold statement about someone else's marriage or divorce, she has no business doing so, unless she's the GF.
  • Death is a part of life, no one lives forever. Nothing is wrong with planning ahead, but this is way too far ahead. Maybe he should wait a year or two after getting married, but than again, no one knows what tomorrow will hold ... so why put off what you can do today.
  • i don't like any of Rucco suits and sockless style ... it might look good for other occassion ... but these are wedding photo shoots, at least dress the part ... pants that fit and wear socks, and no no to sneakers with a suit
  • @winnie I agree with you. I don't think he gave any money to Etta directly or indirectly. Hopefully, working hard to make ends meet and establish herself will instill maturity in Etta. One thing is puzzling though. In another article, it says that Elaine approves of Etta's engagement. Wonder which articles are fake news.
  • @winnie I won't be surprised if Jackie dropped a bit of pocket change to help out. A bit of spare change from Jackie is life changing for many and he won't miss it...
  • I highly doubted Jackie Chan reached out and support Etta - the daughter he didn't acknowledge and want no part of. I feel bad for Elaine, having to deal with Etta as a single parent
  • I am NOT sharing ... and i hope no one else share either. These two are are adults, physically capable, mental (questionable) stable, they should rely on themselves instead of begging for help? Family and friends are ignoring them, and they resort to the internet. The language Etta use is a disgrace, it back fires. Instead of tugging my heart string, i only hear blah blah blah. She is being used to Andi, no doubt. By using Jackie Chan's name, they hope people will come forward to help simply because this is Jackie Chan's daughter. Guess it's not working in their favor. The only real person i feel sorry for is Elaine. Etta might need professional help, she might be confused, angry, rebellious ... whatever it might be, Elaine is the one hurting the most. #StayStrongElaine
  • @davy All are a posibility, however, her facial structure is no longer round and pudgy ... i say she has work done as her jaw line is sharper and her face longer (think chin implant, facial reconstruction).
  • @winnie Donnie yen & chow yun fat also revamps their face features, so no big deal
  • I think she looks fresher and sweeter in the before photo. I don't see anything special in the after photo, except maybe plastic.
  • Congrats on finding your roots Mr Wong. It's even happier when the 1/2 brothers embrace Anthony with open arms and welcome him into their lives. He finally has closure
