Bernice Liu’s “Changing Face” Gains Attention

Bernice Liu’s (廖碧兒) ever-changing facial features is becoming a hot topic of discussion, leading to speculations that the 41-year-old has been getting plastic surgery.

Now the owner of an ever-growing wine business, the former beauty queen has been spending more time managing her business than doing on-screen work, but that hasn’t stopped Bernice from returning to acting every once in a while to appease her fans.

To celebrate Women’s Day on March 8th, Bernice shared a new portrait of herself on social media. Many netizens pointed out that they couldn’t recognize Bernice at first glance, and said that she looked like a combination of Yumiko Cheng (鄭希怡) and EEG executive Mani Fok (霍汶希). There were brief talks about plastic surgery; however, a new upload on March 10th by Bernice dispelled those rumors rather quickly.

Bernice, who debuted in the industry after winning Miss Chinese International in 2000, shot to fame shortly after starring as the Princess for the sitcom Virtues of Harmony <皆大歡喜>. After a string of successful television dramas including The Brink of Law <突圍行動> and Steps <舞動全城>, she left TVB in 2011. She has starred in six television dramas for ViuTV since 2016.
