Chinese Influencer Abby Wu Started Getting Plastic Surgery at 14

Staying competitive in the lucrative influencer market is harder than it looks. Take Chinese social media influencer Abby Wu (吳曉辰) for example, who revealed the extreme measures she took to look picture-perfect. The 30-year-old started getting plastic surgery at the age of 14, and has become addicted to it. She has spent 4 million Chinese yuan on over 100 plastic surgery procedures.

Dreaming to be a celebrity since she was a young girl, Abby was unfortunately diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that required her to take steroid hormones. Because of her medication, Abby gained immense weight and was taken to doctors for liposuction surgery by her mother. With this first surgery to remove the excess fat from her legs being the gateway to her plastic surgery lifestyle, Abby expressed that she came out of liposuction a changed person. By the time she turned 16 years old, she had already done a nose enhancement, breast augmentation, and double eyelid surgery.

Revisiting her plastic surgery clinic over a hundred times in the last 16 years, Abby successfully became the clinic’s most famous spokesperson. Releasing her before and after photos to the public, Abby already possessed an attractive face as a young girl, but the enhancements are notable. Trying her best to stay beautiful and perfect, Abby is willing to change anything that she is slightly unhappy with.

Browsing through Abby’s Weibo account, which has over 500,000 followers, the glossy photos feature her Barbie-doll face and long legs in a narrow and standardized view of beauty. But Abby has not regrets about her plastic surgery lifestyle, “I’m more beautiful than the young girls out there, and I live a lot happier. I want to become their idols, and I’ll continue doing my best.”

While Abby openly endorses plastic surgery, she warns young girls that these surgeries could still be dangerous and hopes that unlike herself, they would not get their first procedure at such a young age.

  1. Huh? I thought underage kids are not permitted to do plastic surgery unless it was a result of extreme damage due to trauma or accidents?

  2. autoimmunue disease is a very scary thing. there is no cure and the meds have many side effects. this girl is brave to go through that many surgeries but mom is definitely crazy enough to get her first surgery at 14

  3. I agree she was a beautiful girl before. Now she looks like everybody else who had plastic surgery; they have the same look, Carina Lau, Lam Fung’s wife, Sing Sing’s wife, Fan Bing Bing, Angelababy…… pointed chins, large cartoonish eyes, narrow noses……

    1. @afan202 I also think she looks beautiful and natural before all those surgeries. But at least she’s honest about the ‘enhancements’ she had done.
To us it may seem illogical to go under the knife in order to become or look like something we are not, but I guess some people with very low self-esteem can’t help thinking only plastic surgery can make them look more attractive.

  4. But she had double eyelids when she was young too, why did she have a double eyelid procedure?!

She didnt need it and does look less natural. Her legs though, seem to go on for days. I guess at least that cant be faked.
