Chinese Olympic Swimmer Ning Zetao Takes the Internet By Storm
The 2016 Summer Olympics, held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, officially started on August 5. More than 11,000 professional athletes from all corners of the earth are competing for medals in 28 different sports, putting it as the biggest multi-spectator sport event in the world.
But sometimes, people just like to tune in the Olympics to watch the hot guys.
Ever since the start of the Rio Olympics, the Internet has been on high alert over Chinese swimmer Ning Zetao (宁泽涛) from Henan. With his handsome face and incredible physique, the 23-year-old competitive swimmer has gained a legion of fans from all over the world, becoming a trending topic on Twitter. China has even dubbed Zetao as “the husband of the people.”
The 23-year-old has always had popularity in his native country, China. He was named China’s sports personality of the year in 2015, and was featured in many magazine covers, but it really wasn’t until his appearance at the 2016 Olympics when he truly became an international sensation.
Zetao first came to prominence back in 2014 when he competed for the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. He received notable attention from the Korean media for his good looks, cute smile, and attractive physique. He won four gold medals at the Asian Games, also breaking two records in the 100m freestyle and men’s 4 x 100m freestyle.
Zetao will be representing China to compete in the men’s 100m freestyle and men’s 50m freestyle this week.
Having received so much positive attention from around the world, Zetao’s professional athletic career can go nowhere else but up.
