Edison Chen Disses Shawn Yue’s Brand
In recent years, Edison Chen (陳冠希) seemingly has been tamed by his girlfriend, supermodel Qin Shupei (秦舒培). They spend a majority of their time in the United States raising their daughter and growing Edison’s clothing brand, CLOT. But Edison’s temper has remained just as fiery when provoked, and the 38-year-old blasted Shawn Yue (余文樂) yesterday.
Recently, Edison posted on Instagram a new T-shirt designed for Chinese New Year but there was a comment by a netizen that seemingly enraged him. The comment was “Hope to see CLOT X MADNESS next year!” The netizen was referring to Shawn Yue’s brand, Madness and was hoping for a collaboration between the two. Edison angrily replied, “NEVER THAT !!!! WE MANY LEVELS ABOVE THAT WACK SHXT…NEVER KNEW U WAS LAME LIKE THAT TOO / BUT NOW WE ALL KNOW… ENJOY.”
His comment led to a war between netizens, with supporters of Shawn coming out to defend him. One of the comments was: “I’m not fond of Madness, but ten years ago, your good friends Eason Chan (陳奕迅) and Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) supported CLOT; they have now changed loyalty to Madness. Why don’t you try see where the problem lies?”
Edison was quick to draw the line between himself and Eason and Miriam, “THEY AINT MY FRIENDS SO THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT… LAMES HANG WITH LAMES… THEY SMALL CITY FOLK… WE ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL… DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THESE SNAKES.” Edison’s comment seems to indicate that he had a fallout with Eason and “god sister” Miriam, whom he was formerly very close with.
Interestingly, Jay Chou (周杰倫) also liked this post, leaving us to wonder whether it was by mistake or he is in support of Edison.

Checked out both brands online because I was curious. From the pictures alone, seems like CLOT offers more design/variety compared to MADNESS, which may warrant a higher price tag and be classified as higher end streetwear.
Or maybe this is all an ingenious marketing plan for both parties ..at least it made me look them up lol
I like Shawn and not a fan of Edison but the MADNESS clothing look like dull wear you can find in the average clothes store. CLOT however has plenty of stylish designs that at least you are paying big money for something different…
Don’t care how nice your line of clothing is.. with an attitude like that, you can’t pay me to wear your brand.

I use to follow Shawn Yue when he first launched his brand but stopped caring the past two years. Whenever his brand has a new collection it would sell out within hours of launching and restocks would also sell out within hours. I was at one of his Pop up shops in HK and they sold out within a few hours – despite it being a 2 day pop up. CLOT is also very popular, but they very rarely sell out and are always having sales.

Don’t know or care about either brand, but Edison is such a tool. Guess once a tool, always a tool. Dude needs to go back to school and learn proper grammar. From those posts, you would think the guy barely speaks it.

I remember he was a host in this whatever university talk he was invited to and he shockingly speaks well?? But the way he writes here….sigh…. AINT ? I just went through a few of EDC’s posts and he uses caps in all his captions so I don’t think it meant anything. Also, his improper grammar…I’m guessing he sees it as swag. Besides, this is instagram, not a speech. However, I did think it was a funny incident. There were many alternatives to avoid such commotion and making it a headline, but he decided to respond in this way. I can only give him a -____- face lol

Not to be overly critical of EDC, but he was first an arrogant punk before he became a businessman. So perhaps his “eloquence in speech” is a reflection of his true nature. In some ways similar to how Nic Tse has grown to where he is now, yet I find that Nic is more successful in “portraying” himself as a successful entrepreneur instead of a troubled teenager with a rebellious side..

@hayden Forget educating his daughter, I just hope he has the decency by not smoking whenever his daughter is around. Secondhand smoke causes numerous health problems in infants and children. People like that should never have kids, poor girl.
Sure edison maybe cute on the outside but definitely ugly and perverted inside. It seems as he gets older, his face looks dry and has early sign of wrinkles especially when he smiles. Smoking is the strongest predictor of facial wrinkling and those people age faster. It’s actually not a bad thing for him since he is such a classless ghetto person. Keep up the chain smoking dude! It’s good for your health, NOT!
