Eva Huang’s Step-daughter Accepted into Harvard Pre-college
As students are getting ready for final exams and preparing for summer, Mainland Chinese actress Eva Huang’s (黃聖依) step-daughter was revealed to have been accepted into Harvard Precollege at the age of 15.
Thrilled that his daughter was accepted into one of the world’s most prestigious schools, Eva’s husband, Yang Zi (楊子) shared photos of his daughter on social media to congratulate her on her hard work. When fans saw the photos, not only were they in awe of her excellent grades, but many saw that she was a natural beauty, even rivaling step-mother, Eva.
Despite coming from a rather well-off family, it was revealed that Yang Zi’s daughter was a very disciplined child and did not live a spoiled lifestyle that most wealthy kids are used to. Her father disclosed that there are three key rules that he enforces. First, he wishes for his daughter to be honest. He explained that lies could result in disownment. Second, he wishes for his daughter to have a sense of responsibility so she can finish everything from start to finish. Yang Zi said that if his daughter wanted to stop playing piano, he would ask if she never wants to play again. If so, then he would sell the piano completely. Lastly, he requested that she would only chew 30 times during dinner. He explains that it is a good way for his daughter to maintain good eating habits.
Although it seems as though Yang Zi’s strictness with the rules is different from other typical parents, his methods definitely yielded strong outcomes as his daughter turned out to be both brilliant and filial.

Glad she isn’t spoiled. Hope she continues this way. The environment will have great influence and impact as she continues to mature. Sometimes your friends are the one to make you or break you. At least her parents are active in her life
@jjwong Yea, also good to hear that she is not spoiled – if she were, then they need to keep her in Mainland and not send her over here to the U.S. Taiwan’s Sun Peng and Di Ying could probably learn a lesson or two from Yang Zi and Eva Huang – at minimum, they can learn not to send a spoiled, gun-worshipping brat with a history of erratic behavior over here to the U.S. and then when he threatens to shoot up his school, ignorantly claim that he didn’t know joking about school shootings (a week after Parkland) was inappropriate. As long as Yang Zi’s daughter reads up on the U.S. before she comes here and doesn’t cause trouble for us (oh and definitely DON’T stockpile weapons!), then she is welcome to study here, lol.

Well said and some were even saying that what is happening to Di Ying’s son is possibly karma biting back at her since she attacked Yammie and gloated about it. They were saying that she deserves it. Maybe they are right and karma is doing its work.
Glad that she is not spoiled in spite of being rich. I see many mainland people here who are their family’s only child. Some are very spoiled that it is annoying. However, luckily some naturally have a good character and are not too bad in spite of being spoiled.
@hetieshou Yea….I definitely think it’s karma. The thing that ticked me off too is Di Ying coming over here with Sun Peng to visit their son and acting like their family is above the law. Sun Peng did issue a letter of apology, but then after that, some lawyer or someone that is a good friend of the couple’s wrote up some stupid article boasting about how hard Di Ying is working so hard to mount her son’s defense and how they are going to probably plead insanity which will get him off scott-free and he will be back in Taiwan by first week of May and all of this is due to Di Ying’s tireless efforts and oh how great is a mother’s love, etc, etc..….it’s like, really? Their son is in serious trouble (they found a handgun and 1600 additional rounds of ammo later on so now he’s facing an additional charge of possession of criminal instruments) and yet all Di Ying’s camp does is use this situation to try to make her look good? Pathetic!
I’ve seen that too with some of the rich Chinese kids that get sent here for school and yes I agree that it’s annoying. Sorry, but we already have plenty of rich, spoiled, entitled brats of our own (all those heirs/heiresses of big companies, offspring of Hollywood elite, etc.), we don’t need more to be sent over from foreign countries!

Di Ying is still up to her old and pathetic tactics? Boy is her skin thick! I am beginning to believe in karma even more. I guess she thinks that since she got away with attacking Yammie that her son can get away with everything too. How can she be so stupid? They are using this to make her look good too. I cannot believe there are such shameless people in this world. But then again she gloated about attacking Yammie and got away with it so why should any of us be shocked?
What? Her son had a handgun and ammo too? I did not read much about it so did not hear about that part. I just heard and read about the threatening part. Boy her son is in deep trouble but yet she still gloats about it as if her son will be off free. How sad is that?Don’t you see a pattern in her behavior?
Very well said and yes we already have too many spoiled brats here so do not need anymore! But luckily there are some whom are very nice but they are in the minority.
@hetieshou Yup! I’ve been following the case and it does look like there is a possibility her son might go free if their legal team plays their cards right. They had their first court hearing yesterday and the latest is that her son is waiving his right to a preliminary trial (that’s the trial where they establish whether they have enough evidence for the case to go forward) – this means that they are going to go directly to arraignment where they officially charge him. His lawyer’s strategy is for him to plead guilty to the charge of making terroristic threats (which is actually a misdemeanor) in exchange for the weapons charge (which is the more severe charge with likely jail time) to be dropped. Legal experts are saying that if the prosecutor and courts agree and he is only convicted on the terroristic threats charge, most likely they will just deport him and ban him from returning to the U.S., which of course is equivalent to getting off scott-free (I’m sure this is what Di Ying and Sun Peng are hoping for). The arraignment is scheduled for 5/23 but I heard their lawyer is trying to submit paperwork to get the process done quicker. Also, the police that arrested him aren’t buying the “story” about why he had the handgun as well as the 1600 rounds of ammunition (his lawyers gave some story about the bullets being leftover from a family outing to the firing range where they purchased “extra” bullets for all the guns they were using) – I believe it was the police chief over there who commented to journalists that the firing range excuse was “a load of crap”….
Regardless of how it turns out, hopefully Di Ying’s son’s case will be a lesson to all these celebrities who send their kids overseas to study. It’s not as easy as just shipping them off to another country and then being done with it. It’s a big decision and there are so many things to consider – hopefully the other celebrity parents take it more seriously…
@llwy12 I rather he be sent back to China scot-free than stay imprisoned in the US (which we, as tax-payers, will be forking some of the expenses.) Hopefully he’ll be banned forever.
And plus, with the social credit system China implemented, I doubt he’s going to live so happily. Y’know how judgmental Chinese people can be and the stigma they attach to people who break rules.
@coralie True…that probably IS the best option at this point. Though the part that ticks me off is Di Ying sending her son over here in the first place knowing he has a track record of erratic behavior. His former classmates in Taiwan said that they are not surprised that he would say that kind of stuff (shoot up his school) because he’s done that before at his old school apparently. They said he’s had a fascination with guns since a young age and was always “joking” with them that he would go over to their houses and shoot them. A reporter who had interviewed Di Ying and Sun Peng at their home once said that when their crew was there, the son talked non-stop about guns and military stuff and at one point, even took one of the rifles the family owned and pointed at one of the reporter’s heads, pretending he was going to shoot them – Di Ying freaked out and kept yelling at him to put the gun down but he pretty much ignored her. Honestly, what normal kid does that kind of stuff? It’s pretty obvious the son is crazy (I read that they did a mental evaluation after they arrested him and it’s confirmed he’s mentally ill, which is why his lawyer was also looking into an insanity plea). IMHO, they should make Di Ying and Sun Peng pay back all the taxpayer money that has already been wasted with arresting their son and holding him in jail awaiting trial….

Thanks for all the info and I wonder how it will all turn out. But hey maybe Di Ying will get her wish so her son can go back to Taiwan for good. I wish he can get punished so Di Ying does not think she can get away with everything. I still wonder if she would have gotten in trouble back then if Yammie sued her for assault? I wish Yammie did as it would have taught her that she cannot get away with all of bad things that she has done.
I hope all other parents who do decide to send their kids here will research and be more careful. It is not simple as you said. However, sadly some can be ignorant like Di Ying but knowing her track record, why is anyone shocked?

Getting accepted into Harvard pre college is pretty much the equivalent of a community college kid taking a course there and puts down Harvard on his resume. Point is, this is not the same as actually getting accepted or graduate from Harvard. This program is designed for kids with $$, basically an expensive summer camp. People don’t realize the difference.
