Godfrey Gao’s Family Will Continue to Manage His Apparel Business, YOYUU LAB

Nearly two months after the tragic passing of actor-model Godfrey Gao (高以翔), his family has finally released a statement about how they will manage Godfrey’s assets hereafter.

On January 8th, Godfrey’s older brother Charles Gao (高宇橋) released an official statement on Sina Weibo, for the first time since Godfrey’s death in late November. In the statement, Charles said Godfrey’s family will take over Godfrey’s apparel business, YOYUU LAB, to continue his passion and legacy.

“Thank you everyone who has shown love to Godfrey during this time,” the statement started. “And thank you for the concerns and support you have shown to our family. Godfrey’s stocks in YOYUU LAB has already been succeeded by his family. We will work hard together to further develop my brother’s passion, and we are thankful to have everyone walk with us.”

Charles then clarified that Godfrey does not own any other property or assets, and warned other businesses to not use Godfrey’s portrait rights.

Godfrey collapsed while shooting a scene for the Chinese sports reality TV show Chase Me <追我吧>, and died hours later from cardiac arrest. The 35-year-old’s remains were interred at New Taipei’s Chin Pao San.
