Him Law’s “Double World” to Stream on Netflix

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which had caused many cinemas to close down, the studios behind the fantasy adventure film Double World <征途> has decided to opt out of a cinematic release.

Starring Henry Lau (劉憲華), Peter Ho (何潤東), Lin Chenhan (林辰函) and Him Law (羅仲謙), Double World is directed by Teddy Chan (陳德森) and adapted from the video game Zhengtu (征途), an MMORPG released in 2007. Zhengtu is set in a fantasy setting inspired by ancient China, and centers on a cast of characters learning how to survive in a kingdom that had been split into ten warring states.

Produced at 300 million yuan, Double World was originally scheduled for a nationwide cinematic release, but coronavirus concerns has caused the film’s release date to be postponed. This week, the studios announced that the film will be stream exclusively on iQIYI, and internationally on Netflix, on July 24, 2020. Double World would be the first Chinese language-film to be streamed locally and internationally at the same time.
