Joe Chen Opens Up About Love Life in “Meeting Mr. Right”

Currently single, Joe Chen (陳喬恩) had previously expressed that she has more or less given up on the hopes of finding love and marriage. Instead, she prefers to have money accompany her in old age. However, the 40-year-old actress recently announced that she will be taking part in the Chinese talk show, Meeting Mr. Right <女兒們的戀愛>, which primarily has its guests speak about their love lives and relationships.

Since last rumored to be dating fellow Taiwanese actor Roy Qiu (邱澤) in 2009, Joe’s relationships have been relatively low profile. As an idol with a large fan base, Joe’s love life has always been the center of attention and many netizens are excited about Joe’s appearance in Meeting Mr. Right.

In the show’s trailer, the actress admitted that she has not dated in more than six years. Joe said, “I really haven’t met anyone suitable whom I can engage in a relationship with.” Despite having previously stated that she no longer yearns for love, Joe shared that she continues to hope to find someone to walk the path of life with. She expressed, “I am already 40 years old! I really should find someone to be in a relationship with. I feel that my father also hopes that I can find a good partner to spend the rest of my life with.”

Joe’s father urged her not to place all her attention and efforts on work. Instead, she should take more time to go meet new people. In response, Joe said to her father, “I’m currently taking part in the second season of Meeting Mr. Right. This is my way of meeting new people. If not, why would I be here?”

Perhaps still a romantic at heart, when asked about her ideal partner, Joe said, “At a glance, he should look like he’s a student.”

  1. “At a glance, he should look like he’s a student.” ???? She’s 40 not 20? Really? haha Lol….

    1. @wm2017 maybe she meant that they must’ve studied or have the look of having studied? And it got lost in translations? Well, perhaps she truly like younger boys. As long as its two consenting adults, I dont see a problem

  2. She looks young for her age, she probably means the guy should too. As in should have aged well and not look super old. Not necessarily actually way young.

  3. she doesn’t look 40 at all.. but having a much younger husband isn’t a good idea. when u die, he gets all your money. look for an older husband! when he dies, u get all his money!! 😀

LOL! younger guys are easier on the eyes and usually more supportive of women than old and wrinkled elders. $ is notthe object, since she makes plenty herself.

  4. haha i agree with those that said the dude should look young, and not actually be young. She herself looks young for her age, so she can find another 40 year old who looks as young as she does. She lives in Asia, it shouldn’t be that hard.
