Kevin Cheng Will Not Use Botox Despite Signs of Aging

Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) recently attended a promotional event for a healthy foods brand in Shanghai. Dressed in a dashing white suit, the 46-year-old actor was clean-shaven, in contrast with his huskier look while filming Blue Veins <殭>. Although his skin appears to be in relatively good condition, fine lines and permanent wrinkles were quite evident.

While an actor’s youthful physical appearance is his most valuable asset, Kevin does not intend to get Botox injections. “Yes for firming, but I haven’t undergone botox. A stiff face will affect my acting abilities. [An actor] needs to have expressions. But I of course have crow’s feet!” The busy actor revealed that he seldom uses skin care products before bed. However, his dermatologist recommended that he use clean water to rinse his face thoroughly.

On June 23, Kevin’s girlfriend Grace Chan (陳凱琳) will be turning 25 years old. When asked whether he has prepared any surprises, Kevin said, “Don’t worry! I will. I’m still thinking about it.” Since Kevin is currently working in Hong Kong, he has more time to spend with Grace lately.

Agree, an actor should not use Botox. It will affect his/her acting.

      I am not. haha lol…
He does show his age already. I was watching that crappy vampire drama and I don’t know if it’s his wardrobe or madeup or whatever, he looks horrible. The female lead looks weird w/her super high heels and and fashion as well. I was on like 5th episode and I dropped it as most tvb series these days, I don’t understand where it’s going and it’s boring as h*ll.
      Another crappy one from TVB.

blue veins is terrible in the first 5 episodes. i almost also dropped it in the first 5. but it actually gets good after episode 8 and it gets even better. after watching the whole thing, i miss the drama and i think tvb should make more dramas like this. yeah, the fashion is horrible but i guess they are trying to create an out-of-this-world sorta feel. the music was also bad in the beginning but after watching a while, it grew onto me and now i really like albert’s song.

@m0m0 lol no, the drama was pretty bad all around.

but, since i finished it, i will say that the genre is interesting. the actors/actresses made up for most of it, i.e., 6wing, wong yau nam, anjaylia, moon lau, eddie kwan & even winki lai (surprisingly the new ppl were more interesting.) kay should’ve never been chosen as main female lead…but i forgave her eventually because her acting did get better as the series moved forward. i also agree that the clothes she wore were TOO pretentious and unrealistic.

oh yes, I did…. I am one of those if I don’t like it, I will drop it no matter how popular it is and how many good looking/pretty actors/actresses are there and I don’t bother w/the ending either. If I don’t like it I don’t like it. I don’t go w/the hype. The plot is so boring and all over the place.

@kiki Lol, I’m still wondering, when ppl are in love, they will look happy, younger, energic, etc while he suddenly looks old. Maybe no love news is going to come, no love news bombards anymore? Anyway hope he can get married with Grace Chan soon

@kiki I could not stop laughing when I first read the title of that drama.

I thought why would any one make a drama about Uncle Cheng’s aging calves.

LOL….honestly, he looks his age and not exactly like a very bad aging uncle as yet b/c he is in his mid 40’s going into 50’s soon but when you have a b/f 20 years younger, it’s more noticeable. Especially that girl is pretty easy on the eyes for sure but when she talks, she sounds very green still. Not just about personal issues on their dating but the way she tackle’s questions isn’t very matured and it fits her 25 years of age.

@m0m0 I think for people use botox, they have stiff face. His/her expression looked like forced. For example like Hawick Lau.

@gray another good stiff face example of too much botox is Aaron Kwok.

@m0m0 I think you should try watching some K-series then maybe you can tell when a face is too stiff to make expression.

I think I would welcome him aging naturally. That would stop from him accepting younger roles that he is too old for (Hua Xu Yin).

Gotta love him if it’s true, I miss seeing wrinkles to be honest. Now, even old people on TV no longer has wrinkle yall know…I feel like everybody is just plastic even when they probably haven’t gone plastic but I’m stereotyping everybody bc not even a single person has a small pimple and that looks sad which leads to annoying and bothersome things….
