Leo Ku Welcomes Baby Boy!

After much speculation, singer Leo Ku (古巨基) finally announced on March 15th that he and his wife had welcomed a baby boy.

“This is a very meaningful announcement for me and my wife,” wrote Leo on Instagram today. “Originally we had wanted to announce the news on Lunar New Year. However, with all efforts focused on overcoming this pandemic, we’ve decided that it would be more suitable to announce it at a later time.”

Leo then shared that they had planned on breaking the news on April 4th, Children’s Day, but with news already leaked, they decided that now would be the right time. “I want to sincerely thank all the friends and fans who love me and my wife. I will continue to be a good husband and father!”

Leo was flooded with congratulating messages from fans and friends alike. Stars such as Gigi Leung (梁詠琪), Hins Cheung (張敬軒), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Hacken Lee (李克勤), and Sherman Chung (鍾舒漫) have all liked and commented on Leo’s post with words of congratulations.

Leo married his wife, Lorraine Chen (陳英雪), in 2014.

  1. Wow. Didn’t even noticed she’s pregnant now she already give birth to a baby boy? She’s another Janet Jackson who give birth at a late age I just find out she’s in her 50? Congratulations to the Ku family.

I do not think she is 50 but is around 46 or 47, but congrats to her and more proof that even women in their mid to late 40s can still have healthy kids. But then again if Janet Jackson had her kid at 50 then anything is possible. My late mom told me her friend’s mom had her last kid when she was in her 50s so it is nothing new. That was back in the days with no technology like IVF too. My aunt had her last kid at 46 too. I guess it is fate too. Anyways congrats to Leo and his wife on their new son!

      1. @hetieshou well I did google on Leo profile it says he’s now 47 and I did look back their old articles it says his wife is 3 years older than him so that’s why I was like wow she’s 50? If you look back at their old articles the one says they got married in Las Vegas then you know what I’m talking about. Yes you’re right about anything can possible especially first child at the late age those womens you’re mentioned at least it’s not their first child right? Yes some people don’t look their age but then again some people look way older than their age.

  2. Age 50 is pretty late for a woman to have her first baby. But Lorraine did not look too old in the photo above.

First, I agree with cutie777 that I had also read similar articles in Chinese about Lorraine Chen and Leo Ku before and after their marriage. It was reported that she was 3 years older than Leo Ku before marriage.

In another recent article in Chinese about the birth of their son, Lorrane’s age was also said to be 50.

Out of curiosity, I did a search on Google. Could not find anything in English. Here is a Chinese article from Baidu re Lorraine Chen if you can read and understand Chinese.

Lorraine Chen was born in 1968, so she can be as old as 51 or 52 now.

A woman can still have babies before menopause, but it is super hard to conceive the first baby at the age of 50, unless she does it through IVF.

      2. @orchid123 Yes, it’s always been a known fact that wife is at least 50 as she is reported to be older than the husband. She looks good for being 50 or over that’s for sure. I remember an ex TVB actor who also had a kid over 50 and the wife looks to be in her 60s while she is in fact just 52-ish. Yes, Leo Ku’s wife does look good for her age even if that’s an old picture. But gosh, 50’s and have kids at that age I can’t imagine. Oh well, whatever makes you happy.

  3. 50?!
Sure, women could still have healthy babies but don’t expect it to be easy (or naturally).

There is also a chance the baby may not even be biologically hers… (donor egg).
