Mavis Pan: “My First Date With Raymond Lam Was On His Bed!”
Since the outbreak of Raymond Lam Fung’s bed photos with Mavis Pan Shuangshuang, only Raymond came forward sadly to explain that they broke up for two months. Hiding in Beijing to heal her hurt feelings, Mavis finally spoke with Next Magazine, stating that she and Raymond never broke up. Each time she arrived in Hong Kong, she would stay at Raymond’s home, Dynasty Court. Since Raymond and Mavis spent more time apart than together, one would think that they would be unable to contain each other’s passion upon seeing each other. However, Mavis said, “He is often tired after work. We did not always do the deed [have sex]. Many times, we just hugged and slept.”
While dating Raymond , Mavis was very careful. When Raymond suggested they walk outside or eat dinner at a restaurant, Mavis felt it was too risky. To prevent the paparazzi from taking photos of them together, Mavis did not want to go out together. As a result, they often stayed home together. Even their first date was on Raymond’s bed at home.
“We could not go to any public places. Our first date was at Raymond’s house. We laid on his bed and chatted for the entire evening. Then we hugged and went to sleep. This gave me the feeling that he was not too lewd. I found him to be very good.” From then onwards, Mavis and Raymond spent their dates at his house.
Mavis noted that Raymond was often tired and they did not always engage in sexual activities. “Although [sex] cannot be absent, a relationship should not be entirely about [sex] either. Sometimes, I will give him a massage. I will not do anything intentional and will just let things happen naturally. I am someone who enjoys the process. While together, most of our time was spent hugging.”
Was Raymond able to satisfy Mavis’ needs in bed? Mavis said awkwardly, “I’m okay, I truly need to be in the mood. I cannot sleep with someone if there are no feelings. If we are only talking about sex, then what distinguishes us from animals?” (Did you ever think that Raymond pursued you purely for sex?) “No, if it were only for sex, why not get a prostitute!”
Facing a girlfriend with a 36D figure, Raymond often praised her. Mavis recounted, “He would say sweetly to me, ‘Many girls do not have what you possess inside.’ I said, ‘Many people say my breasts were augmented.’ He said, ‘If I know, that’s good enough. It doesn’t matter if they are real or not. Is it necessary to care so much?” (Did Mavis believe that Raymond never had plastic surgery himself?) “I will only believe what I see. What people say about me, I can dismiss it with a laugh. He was right; you only care about the thoughts of the people that are important to you.”
Buying Underwear for Raymond
While dating, Raymond was the most important person to Mavis. Love was the most important thing for her. Each time she went shopping, Mavis would buy clothes for Raymond, including his underwear. “Women will buy underwear for their boyfriends. No other person would select the underwear with greater care.”
Although dating was between two people, dating Raymond Lam turned out to become an issue that concerned many people. The strongest disapproval came from Raymond’s father and TVB executive manager. Raymond’s father, Mr. Lam, was especially rude towards Mavis. “When I had time, I would visit him. When I went to his house, he would say, ‘You’re here again?’”
In addition, Mr. Lam made Mavis make three promises, otherwise he would disapprove of her dating Raymond. “Number one, we could not talk on the phone for longer than 15 minutes. Number two, we could only see each other every three months. Number three, we could not be photographed together. Otherwise, everyone would disapprove of Raymond and I dating.”
The most painful experience for Mavis was one night, Raymond returned home very late. He informed his assistant that he had to change his airplane flight to the next day. “Mr. Lam spoke to Raymond in Fujianese, which I did not understand. I asked Raymond, ‘What happened?’ Raymond told me that his father said, ‘Do not let other people drag your hind leg.’ Mr. Lam’s intent was to say that I dragged Raymond’s hind leg, which led to Raymond’s argument with his father. This incident moved me very much.”
Since the outbreak of the bed photos, many of Raymond’s friends and artists supported him, noting that he was betrayed and loved the wrong person. These comments made Mavis realize the coldness in the world. “Especially Charlene Choi’s words…I worked with her in two films. I find her to be a very good person. However, in an interview, I heard her comment that Raymond met the wrong person. I was very hurt…. How can you make judgment about me when you are unclear about the situation. Charlene had her own past experience as well!”
When asked about Mavis, TVB executive, Virginia Lok Yi Ling, said to the press that she did not “judge her incorrectly.” Virginia’s response made Mavis feel very uncomfortable. “Last year in Beijing, I met Ms. Lok. She was very polite and did not appear to dislike me. At the time, Raymond requested that I meet his superior.” Afterwards, Mavis heard that a TVB executive requested Raymond to break up with her, otherwise he will not be granted work. “This relationship was very difficult for me. It was also very difficult for Raymond. A relationship that was not blessed by others will not be joyous. Raymond also put in his efforts in the relationship, but many factors pressured him. I know he faced a lot of pressure all along.”
In addition to pressure from Raymond’s family and his work partners, there was also the emergence of a third party in Mavis and Raymond’s relationship after they dated for one year and two months. However, this incident did not induce Mavis and Raymond to break up. “It happened last year. However, I do not understand what happened. Raymond’s text messages had a flirtatious air, but he denied it. He said it was a misunderstanding.” (Do you know who the woman was?) “Actually…actually…it’s inappropriate to say. At the time, I already forgave him.”
Since the outbreak of intimate photos, Raymond has not contacted Mavis and did not respond to her text messages. However, she stated that the pair never broke up. “He never said the words, ‘break up’ to me. In our text messages, we often called each other ‘hubby’ and ‘wifey.’” When Raymond told reporters that they broke up for two months, Mavis was saddened upon hearing the response. “I was happy he acknowledged our relationship. When he said it was over between us, I was very saddened. I never thought of separating from him. When he said our relationship ended, I was very sad.”
Refusing to Give Diamond Ring
While with her family and friends, Mavis pretended to act strong. When she was alone, she thought back to the sweet times she shared with Raymond. On Valentine’s Day this year, Mavis and Raymond had been dating for one year. When Raymond asked what Mavis wanted, she said she wanted a ring. However, he did not want to give her a ring. “It’s not that he did not want to give it, but a ring held greater significance for him. He said you can only wear it on the wedding day.” Thus, Mavis wished that Raymond would custom-order a gold ring for her. “I was afraid he would think I wanted a diamond ring. I asked him to custom-order a gold ring, with name engraving so that it would be different than other rings. It was not expensive.”
Raymond had promised to reveal their relationship two years from now. Mavis said, “He made many promises, but they were never fulfilled. He said that within one to two years, he would publicly reveal our relationship, followed by marriage.” Whether it was a gold or diamond ring, perhaps Mavis was not destined to wear it anymore.

Jayne: Mavis only had good things to say about Raymond. I do believe there is some truth to her story. Undoubtedly, she faced disapproval from Raymond’s family and Virginia Lok due to her risque modeling past. Mavis’ account did provide a sliver of what it was like to date a popular celebrity like Raymond Lam, the need to remain anonymous and the backlash from his fans.
However, looking at the revealing photos Mavis shot for Next Magazine, this interview was clearly intended to self-promote herself and her figure as well. What matters more may be fame, rather than clearing her name in all this mess.
I think Next Magazine should have created a special award for Mavis at their 2011 Awards: “Most Exposed Celebrity of the Year,” as we saw so much of her skin in the last few weeks. Mavis also propelled a lot of recent sales for Next Magazine and she spoke exclusively to them only!

Definitely this interview was a promotional tactic. It looks like her pictorial more than an interview. She didn’t explain how the pics were leaked in this article, probably to not stir more controversy, but I’m glad that she and Ray, although they have broken up whether officially or unofficially, only had good things to say about one another. She really shouldn’t have said anything about their sex life though. That’s just very private and the whole world does not need to know how often they had sex or if he was too tired to do it. She really doesn’t seem shy at all with sharing this kind of stuff.

As a girl, the feeling of having your bf parents disapprove of you is bad enough, add that to the fact that you cant go on dates openly, frens and co-workers not supportive, whats the point of dating a rich and famous guy like him?
And if what Ray’s dad said to her was true, he seems to be quite an autocratic person. He may not have liked her dating his son but his son is 31 and to limit his phone calls and meeting frequency? Its so…. speechless.

I think she does have some truth in this interview, but she did say a bit too much in this interview. If it were truly a sensible interview, she wouldn’t of provided so much detail…But with the disapproval of parents and Miss Lok, that sounds true, and understandable because of her past. Also, it is about a month later she pulls this incident out again, really shows how needy she is for attention. I don’t blame her for tell her feelings, but she should of done it sooner, like right now Ray’s all like NO comment. So this is totally a self rpomotion tactic to revamp her a a “nice”(I don’t know if she actually is) girl.
I’m inclined to believe most of her story since it support what I already thought of Ray, that he is generally a good guy. The whole are-we-or-aren’t we broken up thing is definitely a minus, and I consider it rather cowardly of Ray not to make a clear breakup.
I’m sure she met her fair share of disapproval from the people in his life – but then she takes these pictures of herself? Not particular classy and reeks of famewhoring. She’s probably not as bad as portrayed and Ray is not as good as TVB wants his image to be but I feel he at least has made accomplishments while she mainly just poses in revealing underwear.

raymond does seem like a very shy guy around girls, and the fact that he didnt even have a clean breakup with her is like trying to avoid it, or dunno how to “open his mouth” and say it. I don’t even think he even openly asked her out, maybe it is true that his first date with her was on his bed at his house. Probably went something like he kissed her on the lip and than the relationship happened (NOT talking about sex) You know how sometimes guys dont necessaryly have to say wunna go out with me or lets date whatever, they will do the “action” part and hopes for the girl to understand and feel the same way 😛 That’s wht i think anyways

I read a report on this and it’s given out that men in their 20s and 40s will have highest demand. In their 30s their demand decrease because they focus on work more than sex. During their 50s, the demand slightly falls until 60s when it jumps but too bad, it’s time when their physical body doesn’t support them.
I will be perfectly honest: I COMPLETELY BELIEVE HER!!! lol It’s because the interview sounds so sincere…and well…true. At least the feelings behind the interview sound true. The feelings she had for Raymond and him for her also sound genuine. Even the circumstances of their dates sound real. O_O

Haha, her attire does not match the content of the interview. The content was all sweet and poignant and then you look at the photos to sexy and revealing and the feelings are all ruined.
She should have covered up a bit. I know it’s her asset, but, she should dress for the occasion. No need to look like she’s wearing lingeries in all photos. That non-posing picture of her self-photographing looks good.

However, I also believe that Next twisted her words a lot because the story in this one has some differences to the one she said in the interview. Or Mavis forgot to make both consistent. Such as in the interview, she said very clear that they broke up, but in this one, she said “not broke up yet”. BTW, just a grain of salt. Next wants to sell the magazines so they have to change her words to make the storyline more interesting. They really can do that, the “love story” in Next is better than any TVB’s current love stories in series. It has love, sweetest, quarrel, pressure, third party, forgive and after all, break up in tears.
In the interview or the mag I dun rmb, she also mentioned that she is forced to take these pix by her company, if not she will be frozen.
Overall, I remain my opinion that they made a good couple but they are ppl of two worlds so they can’t be together. I still think his taste on PSS is good, but the way she sells her love story is too over. I don’t believe it’s coincidence to PSS to do the exclusive interview with Next :P.

@Kidd, the lingerie photos where Mavis’s private parts were revealed were from her early modeling days (before current plastic surgeries to face and boobs).
I believe she posed especially for Next Magazine in the above black and white bustier. Her face and body seems to reflect current surgeries. I do find her very pretty in these photos, looking like a sultry versiion of Linda Wong Hing Ping, Kevin’s ex girlfriend.
In a Sohu interview, Mavis said if she has a good body, she doesn’t mind showing this to the world, hence the sexy photos.

I said that picture looks good because she was wearing another coat other side and not posing sexily. So, that picture looks decent.
What I mean by ‘non-posing picture’ is she’s not posing for the photographer. This photo was taken by the photographer when she’s unaware (busy self-photographing).
I don’t find her taking photos of herself a problem. She admitted in the interview that she’s a self-photography fanatic.

When I read about this, 2 thoughts came to my mind;
either she is incredibly naive or she is a scheming opportunist. Given her age, and the words she used or rather the tone she used, I would say she is incredibly naive. And the fact that Ray did not break up with her in person (as she claims), then Ray is the manipulative one. The sort of guy who knows what to say, when to say to get whatever he wants.
And if she thinks there is a future for them to be together, she can kiss that goodbye because she not only criticised his father, she criticised his manager and revealed secrets that no one would know unless you’re sleeping next to him.
It may sound incredibly sweet, what she said but read deeper and more closely, I think if this is promotional tactic, it will backfire. Whilst Ray should have said nothing to the press, my thoughts is that Mavis if she wanted this relationship or a career in HK or redeem her dignity after what happened (her being accused of leaking the pictures which I believe she did not address that issue here directly? Or how hurt she was when Ray accused her of doing just that?), she should have taken the high road. By explaining, it did not save her dignity because this interview, she revealed too much (for me not enough but the bed habits, dating habits, what father said, etc those are too much for supporters of Ray, Ray and his friends and family) that in the end more criticisms will follow.
I still find her incredibly naive to think this is a golden opportunity for self promotion because you can’t say he’s sweet, you still care for him etc and doing the opposite by revealing intimate details and also her naiveness would make Ray a very experienced player.

I actually believed Ray was once serious about the relationship and did love her very much. If he was a player, he wouldn’t go through all the trouble of hiding, arguing with his dad etc..
However, most men do buckle under pressure and give up on a relationship, since they do know how to handle it, they just run away from it hoping the problem will be solved which equals to what Ray said, they didn’t outright breakup but as adults both parties should understand. Ray, as adults or kids, please make relationship issues clear to a woman or there will be a bigger mess left for you like now.
Funn, I think Mavis may have been willing to go along with the pressure of Raymond’s family, inconvenience of long distance relationship, willingness to stay at his home for fear of discovery etc. She did this because she may have believed all his promises of publicly acknowledging their relationship and even marriage. At one point she was naive, or rather hopeful in their love.
In February, Valentine’s Day, they were still together. Raymond never asked for official breakup. Something must have happpened to trigger Raymond wanting to end relationship, but never had chance to do so. Unknown third party? Pressure from MS. Lok? Pressure from Ray’s family?
After the bed photos, the whole world, including Ray himself believe Mavis leaked the photos. I think somewhere along the way, Mavis’ former hope in their love turned to a sense of sadness and betrayal because Ray did not tell her break up, but he told the media. Kidd also pointed out that Mavis wrote on her blog, “llove was like a slow poison which ultimately kills you.”
This Next article was definitely done on behalf to promote herself. She may also welcome the platform to tell her story, but she is using the situation to advance her fame s well.

No no, she didn’t say that in her weibo but in an interview where she said about her view on love. She also mentioned that she’ll get crazy if her bf leaves her. In her weibo on Jan, she implied something that she was dumped, but she deleted right after the incident.
Which means Ray was the player. He got what he wanted, maybe he realise she wasn’t worth the trouble. Or he got bored with her. Maybe I will get myself red arrowed by Ray’s die hard fans but I believe she is naive and he used her. Doesn’t make her a bad person, but it makes her a very naive one.

Ray may have just been as naive in believing in the relationship, but don’t think he was playing only. Women date and usually envision the future together as marriage. Men date because they just want to be together, but not necessarily get married, which does not equate to being a player.
I think Raymond worked very hard to achieve his current fame and may even been willing to sacrifice love to continue to sustain it.
Too bad the Valentine Day post is a pic of her and another artist so it can’t be like the Maldives one :P.

I believe that Raymond was once serious about the relationship, but after some time due to continuous pressure from family and career (and her risque career), he might feel that his relationship with Mavis is not worth fighting for.
The biggest mistake Raymond did was he made the decision to break up with her publicly than in person. He could have contact her abt the pics and make a clean break with her. But the impression I get is that Ray buckled under the pressure and chose the fast exit.
p.s. Continuously appearing on Next Magazine (or any tabloid) for 3 cover in a row is not that big deal. This will pass soon.

Because players doesn’t mean he is uncaring or careless. Perhaps she was hard to get? He wanted to make her feel safe with him so that she will do whatever he wants her to, such as being very secretive? From the interview it was as if she blamed herself, putting in extra effort to emphasise she didn’t want anyone to know, taking care of his career, and if she is as naive as I think she is, this may mean Ray did such things so as to ensure she is obedient.

That’s what she thinks he said but she doesn’t know what they said for real. It is her impression of what happened. Could be about other things. The fight could be about something else related to her but not directly related to her. And if he did fight with his father, did so much and yet publicly dumped her without telling to her face, that makes him even worse.

I agree that we don’t live in a void and need the support of family mostly in a relationship. Even if our friends do not support, we have to understand the reason for why this is so…is it that they are on different social planes? In childhood and teens, friends mean a lot to us. As we get older, it becomes our significant other and family. So I think having the blessing of family in a relationship is really important. Love on cloud nine can exist longer than 3 months…I’ll say max out at a year, if the couple is not living together. If the couple is young, that puppy stage can easily last much longer. Even after the first year, there’s a lot you can do to distract each other, vacations together, dining out, showing each other special places and ideas. When you meet someone special, you see the world from a different perspective.
Living together, due to the shared space entails habits and responsibilities. That’s why some people say relationships turn from “fun” to “work” after a while. A couple should always try to retain the fun factor in their element. Who wants a second job when they come home?

Honestly speaking, Mavis doesn’t look attractive at all in the above header photo. She reminds me of Lisa Chong, 2nd runner up of MHK 2010. She looked better in her first set of photos released; it’s hard to believe that it’s the same person.
I saw many photos of Mavis, and most of her photos differ, maybe it’s the angle or whatever, but if it wasn’t titled I really wouldnt be able to tell that it was the same person. At times, the photo of her is beautiful, then to big fluffy-like lips than to angelababy kinda of look than to something else. Well I think they are just using each other… Raymond using, not really using, but enjoying, her big boos and perhaps did put some effort in the relationship since he tried to introduced her to his parents and V Lok. TMI, Mavis. Whatever her true intention is with the interview, I do think there were genuine feelings on both sides. As cliche as it sounds though, I think the two were too different in terms of personality, expectations, etc. They probably got really caught up in the romance of it initially and then everything went to hell, esp. when Ray couldn’t deal with the pressure from family / TVB, Mavis too caught up in / naive with regards to the relationship and especially the fact that it wasn’t a clean break-up.
While I’m a Ray fan, I think he was extremely immature in the way he dealt with this whole thing. Yes, he’s 30+, but I get the feeling this was his first ‘serious’ relationship in a long time, he chose the ‘wrong’ girl (I mean in the sense that both were so different in terms of background, expectations and personality and neither was really prepared to deal with the pressure that comes with that), and he let the whole thing fall completely apart by not doing a clean break-up.

I am not really implying that she is lying or anything, but as we all know the reporters and media all add, change, twist and take out things too. It’s not like they are writing a history book and have to make sure that everything is accurate.
I also don’t think she is 100% naive as some may think. I believe she does know what she is doing. Also, after the outbreak of the photos, Raymond was deemed as the “victim” and she was the bad one. Maybe she gave this interview to make it seem like she is the “victim” and that Raymond dumped her and not the other way around. She can be turning the tables on him now. If Raymond did dump her then I am more inclined to believe that she may have leaked out those photos for revenge and at the same time make herself more known and famous. Since she is in the circle as well, I am thinking that she may know about how everything functions and all too.It’s not like she is from outside the circle and is in a completely different profession.She also knows how to make use of this interview and her past relationship with Raymond to promote and bring attention to herself. Naiveness is not about not knowing what you’re doing. It is badly misjudging the gravity of the consequence of your action, which is what Raymond is guilty of as well. Taking off clothes doesn’t make her worldly; it just made her looks like she needs a better PR manager. This interview could mean she is trying to salvage her reputation by telling her side of the story but ended up more like selling herself short.
She is not the devil and Raymond is not the angel with a halo on top of his head. He entered into this relationship with this girl because he was attracted to what he saw and obviously most men would be. She probably did this interview and did all those leaking out of bitterness.

I believe part of the interview was factual while some of it were lies… I still don’t think Raymond is that type of man.

I’m still iffy about believing Mavis because the story paints an entirely different picture about her personality. It made her seem like she was a victim in this so-called scandal too. Ultimately, this interview failed to reveal how the photos were leaked. It’s not impossible, but who will believe the excuse that she gave (she left her phone unattended at a hair salon)? Don’t most celebrities have iPhones these days anyway? And there is a lock feature to it and they should definitely put it to good use.
I do believe there is some truth to the interview, and it’s hard to say whose right and wrong in relationships. Maybe there was a misunderstanding?

I think Raymond is a player. If not why associate with girls like her with a 36D breast…common. First date in his house on his bed? Raymond likes girls with long hair remember. I agree with jayzemine, maybe at first she really wanted Raymond to love her but now she just wants the fame and she’s using it to sell(promote) herself.
