Pinky Cheung, Amy Fan Share How They Cope with Being Single
Actresses Pinky Cheung (張文慈) and Amy Fan (樊亦敏) have been single for many years for different reasons. In a recent episode of TVB variety program, All Things Girl <姊妹淘>, Pinky Cheung (張文慈) and Amy Fan (樊亦敏) share their differing outlooks and describe how they cope with being single.
Independent or Lonely?
Amy shares that she is accustomed to her single status and enjoys having the independence to do whatever she wants without caring for another man’s schedule. However, Amy also reveals that when she is tired, she would want someone beside her, “When I am weak, I want someone to drink with. However, when I am lonely, having someone beside me is the same as not having anyone. That makes it even lonelier.”
In comparison, Pinky confesses that she is not as independent as Amy and consistently likes to have company, “I can’t go to the movies and travel alone. I would feel so sad and lonely. Sometimes when I get sick or weak, I really want someone to protect me. I am scared of cockroaches so when I see them, I wish that someone is with me.”
Pinky’s Relationship Experience
While Pinky shares that she has been single for 10 years, it is not a deliberate choice to be single. She is just not lucky enough to find the right person. There was a time when Pinky met someone but she discovered that they were not compatible, and ended the relationship to avoid wasting their time.
In addition, Pinky believes that it is difficult for her to date because of her acting career, “There are men who think I am difficult to pursue because of my career. They don’t dare to get to know me because they are worried of being chased by paparazzi and feel stressed. Many people would watch my acting roles and then judge who I am.”
Openness to Flash Wedding?
As Pinky has been single for such a long time, she does not rule out having a flash wedding when she meets the right person, “If it feels right, I will get married. Right now, I know exactly what I want.”
For Amy, she would not be able to accept a flash wedding, “I would need to see carefully, and we need to get to know each other. When I was younger, there were many instances when I was happily dating only to end up separating.”

@wm2017 Pinky used to be very pretty what surprised me no billionaire man after her I mean look at Gigi Lai? She still looks good but I think her age show a little.
@cutie777 I wouldn’t really compare the two. They seem to be the same age but leading two completely different lives. Gigi is a mother of 3 and she’s managing a business if I recall correctly.
I rewatch the MDWAV series and Gigi’s Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre every few years and actually watched both again recently, and imo it’s quite obvious Pinky has aged, whereas Gigi still looks somewhat similar to back then.

Exactly and being single has many benefits too. You do not have to deal with the stress of relationships. There is good and bad to everything.

After all, they’re almost 50 & may want to start a family or have someone to spend the rest of their life with. Who wouldnt? Besides Jessica who said she’s satisfied with being single.
