Pregnant Leanne Li Terrified of Wong Cho-lam’s “Strong Genes”

Pregnant mama Leanne Li (李亞男) is looking gorgeous and glowing when she attended the opening event for a furniture store earlier this week. Wearing a long blue dress and low heels, Leanne is prepared for the pregnancy life.

Leanne, who is four months pregnant, shared her experiences with the press. She said she hasn’t been getting morning sickness and would occasionally take a stroll down the park. Though she is considering a natural delivery, she is also afraid of pain.

“I’m really scared of pain. I’ve heard too many horror stories. After being in labor for over ten hours, many mothers still end up going under the knife. I’m rather big-boned, so I think [a natural delivery] would be easier. This is something I’m still considering.”

Asking if Wong Cho-lam (王祖藍) is a strict husband, she laughed and said, “Not very much, actually. I’ve had friends whose husbands act like their mothers!” Leanne shared that when she first felt the fetus move in her belly, she thought she was having a stomachache.

As for the baby’s gender, Leanne said, “I’ll announce that later. Feel free to guess along! There’s a saying that the first-born daughter would look more like the father, and the son would look more like the mother. I really don’t know. [Wong Cho-lam’s] genes are so strong, it’s really hard to say! I’m terrified!”

  1. yeah, it’s suck if it’s a son w/ his height or a daughter w/ his nose….

      1. @jayj
any other genes you can think of being terrifying? that’s what the article’s pointing at. you so sensitive.

  2. I’ve noticed taller mothers and shorter fathers tend to have taller kids. Don’t quote me, but it’s just what I’ve noticed. Like Eric Tsang’s wife is taller than him and his son is much taller amongst other examples. If you know any examples contrary to this, pls share

    1. @coralie the children should have the height that is avg from the mother and the father’s height. It’s not 100%, but usually the case. Also just because someone is short, doesn’t mean his genes is short. Our genes hold the potential to certain height, however, nutrients during the development stage can help the body reach that potential or not. Also not just nutrients, recent studies suggest pollution is also another cause for stunted growth. That’s why Asian in Asian countries doesn’t reach their potential height atm (most of them are still quite short even though the nutrients have increased).

So for Eric Tsang, he could have a high gene, but he didn’t have good nutrients growing up, poor family, hard labour, etc, and therefore, he didn’t reach his potential height. However it’s still in his DNA, he can still pass it on, and since he’s rich now, his kid isn’t lacking in nutrient, and therefore can reach the potential height that his DNA has.

      1. @peachyogurt the formula to calculate the height for any baby is avg’s parent height then +10cm for boy and -10cm for girls. So it seems that picture show the correct height for the boys 🙂 (the plus and minus number might not be accurate as I don’t remember the formula well 🙂 ). Also if you measure a girl at 2yrs old, boy some other number (again can’t remember), doubling it will be their adult’s height 🙂

      2. @littlefish ok, just recheck the formula, I was wrong. The formula is:
        Boy: (mom’s height + dad’s height + 13cm)/2

        Girl: (mom’s height + dad’s height – 13cm)/2

So slightly higher or less than avg of the parents’s height 🙂

You can measure the boy’s height at 2yo and girl’s height at 18mo, then double it to give a good indication of how tall they will be when they grow up 🙂

  3. I remember one of the articles WCL and a little girl that people think they looked alike so if they do have a daughter then maybe that’s how she’s going to be look like. If a man is shorter than a woman that doesn’t means their kid is going to be short I’ve seen a shorter man with a taller woman before and their kids are taller than their dad. If Leanne worry about her kids is going to be short why she even bother to married a shorter guy?

    1. @cutie777 ” If Leanne worry about her kids is going to be short why she even bother to married a shorter guy? ”
I actually found it funny when she voiced this out loud as well. Why would you suddenly worry now? I mean unless she had no intention of ever having kids with him but just married a short guy anyway cuz he has the means to take care of her. haha

      1. @wm2017 well one of the reason she’s married him because he’s got the “Money” of course same thing with her good friend Linda Chung. Exactly why she even bother to worry about it now? Like I say if they’re having a daughter their daughter might looks like the little girl I was telling about. Just click on WCL or Leanne tags then you’ll see what I’m talking about.

  4. I think she means it in a joking way, or it could be the translation. Words can be manipulated especially translated to another language.

  5. Shouldn’t have married him if she’s so worried but the genes, but I’m sure the baby would be adorable.
