TVB Announces Nominees for the Anniversary Awards 2025

TVB has announced that the Anniversary Awards 2025 will be held one January 4 2026 and released their full nominee list. The competition for Best Actor and Best Actress is looking to be fierce and the artistes are ready to promote themselves.

Owen Cheung and Him Law Giving their All for the Best Actor Award

After winning Best Actor award this year, Owen Cheung (張振朗) is eager to win again for his roles in Anonymous Signal <奪命提示> In his campaign speech, Owen vows that if he wins again, he will pay for dollars for coworkers’ cold drinks for two days, and will push his company to add two electric-vehicle charging stations.

Owen is also nominated for having the Best TV song in D.I.D. 12 <刑偵12> and the actor shared that he was happy for the achievement. Owen revealed he is confident in winning because many artistes in the drama sang the song and that the song has a bold and unique concept.

Him Law (羅子溢 ) is nominated for the Best Actor Award for role in Golden Forest <金式森林>, as well as Best Supporting Actor for his role in Prism Breaker. When pointed out that Owen has a special tactic for his campaign, Him immediately said he would follow suit.

While asked about being the hot favorite for the Best Actor award, Him responded, “No, I need every viewer’s vote. The competition is fierce every year and there are many actors better than me. My confidence comes from the character’s likability. (Were you frustrated about losing the Best Actor award last year?) I wouldn’t say I was frustrated. After reviewing my performance, I think I could have done even better.”

When asked how he would campaign for votes, Him replied that he hopes to participate in every event, whether online or offline, “I’ll be going out more often to campaign. I recently attended a children’s birthday party and campaigned with the parents there. One parent told me that her 7-year-old daughter wants to marry Gao Shen [Him’s character in The Golden Era]. Many people call me by my character’s name, so I definitely have confidence.”

Charmaine Sheh and Jessica Hsuan compete for Best Actress Title

 As expected, Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼)from The Queen of News 2 <新闻女王2> and Jessica Hsuan (宣萱) from The Queen of Castle <巨塔之后> and Prism Breaker < 執法者們>are strong contenders for the Best Actress award. Still, netizens were surprised that Ali Lee (李佳芯), who had not renewed her contract with TVB, is nominated for the award for Heavenly Hand <麻雀樂>.

Meanwhile, Katy Kung (龔嘉欣) didn’t have any dramas airing this year but was nominated for the “Best Female Host”. Katy expressed her gratitude for the nomination, “This is my first time being nominated for Best Female Host, and I hope I can win it on my first try.”

When asked if Katy would want to get married first or win Best Female Host first, Katy responded, “I’ll get married after I win! I’ve already won Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress, so winning this one would be very fulfilling.” When asked whether she thought Charmaine Sheh or Jessica Hsuan would win Best Actress, she admitted that it was difficult to choose: “I want to support Hera Chan (陳曉華), whether she wins or not, I want to support her.”

James Ng Gets Nominated for Four Awards

James Ng (吳業坤) has a lot to look forward to because he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his roles in D.I.D 12 and “<Queen of News 2>; as well as being nominated for having the Best Television Song and being the Most Improved Male Artiste.

When asked for his thought of Gigi Yim (炎明熹) being nominated for having the Best Television Song despite no longer a TVB artist, James said, “You can’t say that. I’m also a Shaw Brothers artist, and t’s not necessarily the management contract that decides the award. The company is fair, transparent, and just.”
