TVB Stars Show off Athletic Prowess in “Wellness On The Go 2”

Eight popular TVB stars host Wellness On The Go 2 <星級健康 2>, the sequel to last year’s six-episode variety series on healthy living. While the first installment focused mainly on disease prevention, this year’s program will center around the health benefits of playing common sports. With an ever increasing interest in health in recent years, the show hopes to reach a wide audience and encourage them to take up a more active lifestyle.

A collaboration between TVB and Malaysia’s TV station Astro, Wellness On The Go 2 will star TVB artistes Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Oscar Leung (梁烈唯), Jason Chan (陳智燊), Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Mandy Wong (黃智雯), and Elaine Yiu (姚子羚) as they attempt different sports alongside professionals. The program aims to deliver basic knowledge such as game rules and techniques, while also digging into the science behind nutrition and weight management.

Ruco participated in a match with Malaysian badminton star Wong Choong Hann (黄宗翰). Promotional images also revealed that Jason will host a segment on soccer while Benjamin will take up swimming. Sharon will be in charge of cycling, Elaine will play basketball, and professionally-trained Mandy will show off her dancing skills. Nancy will be responsible for teaching boxing, which seems fitting as she has achieved success with her role in Gloves Come Off <拳王>.

Earning praises for his courage and commitment while running the UVU North Pole Marathon during 2013’s documentary Xtreme Marathon <極地狂奔>, Oscar has been tasked with introducing viewers to running. He will also be responsible for completing a 10-kilometer race along with Malaysian artistes. Although the route will be less treacherous this time around, he is worried that he will get lost among the woods.

Currently filming in Malaysia’s Klang Valley area, Wellness On The Go 2 is scheduled to air on Sunday nights beginning July 20.

  1. Ruco is hottie and yummie! TVB should treasure this hottie handsome Ruco more! Oscar looks gay, no offense.

    1. Totally agree Ruco is such a hottie!! Can’t never watch enough of him.

      1. Can’t agree more. Just want to watch Ruco Baby everyday. He looks very very sexy when sweating. It’s cutie for him to say “Ah Ya” when he missed the ball. Love him…

      2. I personally thing this is a bad picture of Ruco. And Ruco doesn’t look good in this photo. And Oscar looks Gay with the shorty short shorts on.

    2. I wonder if Oscar chose his own outfit. Maybe it’s the red tank top, the loose skirt-length shorts and the pose, because from this angle he looks like a woman.

  2. Who is the first artiste (Left 1) in the above photo? Is he Chan Sun Chung?

    1. Can’t tell . Looks like either Benjamin or Joel Chan.

    2. Looks like Joel Chan, but I think he is Benjamin Yuen since his name is mentioned in the article, and not Joel’s.

    3. Its Benjamin Yuen, click the source link.

      1. Thanks! Benjamin Yuen just looks different with his hair “shaved”.

  3. Not a good pic of Oscar. He kind of looks like he’s trying to imitate Andy Lau…but in a funny kind of way?

  4. “Malaysian badminton star Wong Choong Hann”

Should be former national badminton player, but he can be considered a star. And he partnered with Ruco, not against. 2 lucky sponsors got to play what is essentially a 10 minutes 2 straight set wins for our Ruco. 10 minutes only!! Ruco was athletic, he looks like a picture of energy and vitality and he looks credible as a badminton player, physique and looks and all. However he did stepped overline and blocked Wong Choon Hann.

    1. “Promotional images also revealed that Jason will host a segment on soccer while Benjamin will take up swimming. So each of them will participate as well? Like Benjamin swimming against national swimmers, etc etc?

    2. Thanks, Funn, for the video. It seems that Ruco Chan is a pretty good player. His badminton skills are more than adequate ….. not bad at all for an artiste.

Malaysian badminton star Wong Choong Hann seems to be taller than Ruco Chan. How about the other two players? Are they former Malaysian champions too?

When Ruco Chan was young, he was representing Hong Kong in Bing Bong youth leagues. Therefore, he should be very athletic. He said he spent all his high school days in nothing but bing bong training. Therefore, he had some good training in sports.

      1. Other 2 players are supposed lucky fans, more like lucky sponsors. If they were better wouldn’t have finished in straight sets and in 10 minutes tops unless the video is heavily edited.

His skills is ok but he keeps stepping into Wong’s place!

      2. Thanks. Well, if Ruco Chan is not a trained player, he played well as an amateur in that game.

Anyway, the sponsors didn’t want it to be a too competitive game which would give Ruco Chan too much pressure.

      3. He can handle it lar. He looks cool under pressure. Moreover Wong is there. Those other 2.. you can see them in the video or pictures in my blog. They don’t look like they can last more than 2 rounds. Ruco looks he can last another 5 rounds.

      4. Of cos those 2 uncles can’t compete with Ruco! Ruco is young, lean and fighting fit.

      5. They all could be same age!!

I know Wong is younger by about a month only. Those other two? probably older by 3 years or so. Should have let young girls play, their enthusiasm will be fun to watch.

  5. All the other guys pl move aside. Only Ruco is the real eye candy.

  6. wow…………LOL seriously???? i just don’t understand
why they’re such showoff and just trying to look cool in this “wells on the go 2”

    1. Not just trying to look cool! Didn’t you watch the clips? He was sweating buckets playing badminton!

    2. He was really playing. Apparently it was a sauna in there. He trained for a day or so and he actually played competetively except opponent not up to standard.

      1. If Ruco Chan was only trained for a day or so, he was amazingly good. He must know how to play badminton before. He could play all kinds of tricks, short serves, back hand, smashing, driving, even drop short. No one can play that well with just 1 or 2 days’ training.

  7. Sharon Chan athletic? Which part? I can’t see
