“Back to the Past” Drops Two Poster Versions

One of Hong Kong cinema’s long-standing legends, Sons of the Neon Night <風林山火>, finally hit theatres this year after an extended production period. Another anticipated project Back to the Past — the film adaptation of classic drama A Step into the Past <尋秦記> — has also been teasing its release through various promotional clips, and now at last comes official news!

Earlier, Louis Koo (古天樂) revealed that the movie would be released next year; while the official posters dropped on November 26, confirming a January 2026 release.

Two Teaser Posters Unveiled

One features the duo side by side, with hints of overlapping timelines subtly creating visual tension. The other poster uses a terracotta-warrior motif to form Hong Siu Lung’s silhouette above, contrasted with Qin Shi Huang seated below in full regalia, long sword in hand. The striking upper-and-lower composition highlights the layered dynamic between mentor and disciple, as well as the looming clash of power and destiny.

Besides leading men Louis Koo and Raymond Lam (林峯), the long-awaited epic also stars Chinese actress Bai Baihe (白百何), Jessica Hsuan (宣萱), Sonijia Kwok (郭羡妮) and Joyce Tang (滕丽名), listed as their names appeared on the movie posters.
