South Korean webtoon drama adaptation True Beauty has already won over viewers with its premiere exceeding expectations on December 9. It already amassed a wide fanbase even before its release, as the cast includes attractive stars Cha Eun Woo, Moon Ga Young, and Hwang In Yeop.
True Beauty is a rom-com following Lim Ju Gyeong (played by Ga Young), a high school girl who is dubbed ugly for most of her life until she masters the art of makeup and successfully transforms herself into a beautiful goddess. Coated in makeup, she is finally able to form new friendships and stop getting bullied. Her newfound life makes her determined to hide her bare face from everyone, as she tries her best to prevent the truth from getting revealed. Unbeknownst to her, her handsome but aloof classmate Lee Su Ho (played by Eun Woo) is the only one who has seen her without makeup. Bonding over horror comic books, they form an unlikely friendship with possibilities to blossom into something more as they help each other navigate their way out of their deepest fears.
Living up to his name of being a face genius – a term used in Korea to describe a good-looking person with mindblowing visuals – Eun Woo is making hearts flutter with his smart and charming looks in both high school and judo uniforms. He has been consistently promoting the drama with photos of his stunning self on social media, which are subsequently garnering many likes and praises. Netizens and viewers could not help but express their admiration, “Eun Woo is too perfect!” and “Eun Woo suits the character Lee Su Ho so well!”
With only two episodes aired so far, he is already surging in popularity, as reflected in the dramatic increase of his Instagram followers. He currently possesses 10.2 million followers, and that number will likely increase as the drama continues to air.
