Grace Chan On Her Always Bubbly Social Media Presence

As one of Hong Kong’s most successful KOLs in recent years, Miss Hong Kong winner Grace Chan (陳凱琳) appears to have found her niche in content creation, while also wearing another hat as a doting mother of three. However, she shares in a recent interview that she is still searching for that “ultimate career” and that being an influencer is something she might continue for at most one more decade.

On Embracing Her Transformation

The successful webfluencer shared that she cared a lot about looks when she was a child, and threw a tantrum about wanting to wear a dress to Disneyland, angering her mom as a result! This has changed as she became a mom as she realized the need to prioritize convenience and parenting duties, though she still loved showing her confident and feminine side during events.

On her successful transformation, Grace said one of her biggest lessons was learning to manage the “Grace Chan” brand and showcase an unknown or authentic side of her – something she never had to do when acting out scripts as an actor. On learning and growing in terms of dealing with negative talk, she shared that becoming a mom has worked in her favor, since she now wants to be a role model for her child to learn how to face criticism from how mom and dad dealt with it, musing that the greatest “teacher” is right by her side. “Kevin is my best role model, it seems like nothing ever fazes him? ”

Channeling Positive Vibes Through Her Socials

Recently, Grace also flew to New York where she took a photo with superstar Tom Cruise. Using it to spotlight how social media only reveals the glamorous side of celebrities, Grace shared that quite a lot happened before that one moment was able to materialize. “So you don’t have to share all these sometimes, just know what happened in your heart, and you will (improve)”

Choosing only to post positive content does not mean she does not have her struggles too, said Grace, who hopes her contents have an encouraging effect on her followers. “I can say that many who have seen my socials and meet me in real life feel that I’m the same person,”

On Parenting As Her Proudest Role

On describing herself as a mom to Yannick, Carlos and Rafael during an event in New York, Grace admits this is her most challenging role that tests her patience everyday, but at the same time gives her the most happiness and satisfaction which she can’t find elsewhere. “Every one has a different personality, being able to witness and nurture t hem accordingly makes me feel like I’m a very happy woman!” Yet Grace cautions against jumping into parenthood unless one is a hundred per cent ready , “Having kids is a lifelong responsibility, even if s/he is forty or fifty, if anything happens to them, you’ll still go all out to help,”

Despite finding considerable success as a KOL, Grace has already thought of going into the education and parenting sector perhaps in the coming decade when she quits being an influencer. Though still in pursuit of that ultimate career, she lets on that she has, for now, started working with a charitable organization advocating for children with autism and their families.
