Laurinda Ho and Shawn Dou Tie the Knot in Bali

Dating for four years, socialite Laurinda Ho (何超蓮) and actor Shawn Dou (竇驍) held their wedding at the Six Senses hotel in Uluwatu, Bali on April 18. Giving Laurinda a sweet surprise, Shawn planned the wedding by himself, handling everything from the destination to the decorations and music.

The wedding spanned two days, and the couple invited their family and close friends to witness their happy moment. The bridal party included Renee Lee (李蘊), her sister Florinda Ho (何超雲), and brother Orlando Ho (何猷啟).

First Day: Tea Ceremony

The day before, the couple wore traditional Chinese outfits for the tea ceremony. Laurinda’s jewelry was worth over $5 million Hong Kong dollars, including her pink engagement ring and three wedding bracelets. All of Laurinda’s wedding attire were custom tailored. Preferring a “less is more” concept, Laurinda’s cheongsam combines traditional and modern elements. It took six months to be custom-made by Nora Reve, and utilizes the Suzhou embroidery technique with gold and silver threads.

Laurinda’s mother, Ina Chan (陳婉珍), looked equally elegant wearing a jade necklace, a large diamond ring and bracelet.

After the tea ceremony, the couple held a party that night. Laurinda wore a mini dress with a low neckline and Shawn wore a casual button shirt. Even after the busy day, they did not seem to be tired as they held their wedding ceremony and reception the next day!

Second Day: Wedding Reception

Led by her uncle, Laurinda entered the venue in a lace white gown with a sheer skirt and long train. As she was unaware of the wedding preparations, Laurinda grew emotional when she saw what Shawn had planned. She thanked him for such a romantic surprise, “Every flower and grass is full of love–I am so touched.”

The wedding ceremony and reception was held in a glass building filled with lush greenery and big trees. It created a picturesque greenhouse coupled with white and pink flowers, brilliant sun, and blue sea. The most unique feature was the small bridge that was built over the pool, implying that the couple is walking towards a bright future. The lotus flowers in the pool were meant to symbolize Laurinda. After exchanging rings, Shawn vowed, “I hope to turn Laurinda from a confident, independent queen into a princess whom I will love and protect.”

While the couple had been tight lipped about their wedding despite the early media leak, Shawn posted their wedding photos on social media and tagged Laurinda, captioning, “Three meals, four seasons.” Laurinda replied, “We have the rest of our lives.” The pair was actually referencing trending Internet slang, “One room, two people, three meals, four seasons, seven emotions, six desires, five flavors for 100 years.” Many friends including Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Raymond Lam (林峯), and Li Chen (李晨) left congratulatory messages on the couple’s marriage.
