Raymond Lam Splurges at Li Chen’s New Bar Opening

Raymond Lam (林峯), who comes from a wealthy background and made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, can be very generous when it comes to his close friends. Rumors have it that the rich second-generation actor spent over 1 million Chinese yuan at Chinese actor Li Chen‘s (李晨) bar opening as a way of congratulating Li Chen and showing his support.

The two actors formed a close friendship after collaborating on Saving General Yang <忠烈楊家將> and Keep Running <奔跑吧>. Hence, Li Chen invited Raymond, as well as other friends and dignitaries, to attend his bar’s grand opening in Sanya, China, on the 27th of last month. Li Chen immersed himself in work and became a bar owner after his ex-fiancee Fan Bingbing (范冰冰) ended their four-year relationship, so as not to affect his career following her tax scandal.

Of course, Raymond showed up with his wife Carina Zhang (張馨月) in tow. Dressed in casual attire, he immediately greeted the new boss before beginning his night. Raymond was seen having a great time, as he often danced to the music and mingled with his wife and friends while Li Chen entertained other guests. Carina wore a tight dress and stayed close by her husband’s side, even hugging him from the back while they danced. Reportedly, Raymond purchased over CNY 1 million worth of drinks to support Li Chen’s business. A netizen jokingly commented, “A million on one table; what does Raymond’s alcohol taste like?”

However, Li Chen also showed his love for his guests by giving each table a free champagne bottle. As captured in a video, he made the crowds go wild with the announcement right after the ribbon-cutting ceremony. With each champagne bottle valued at approximately CNY 5,270, Li Chen spent almost CNY 1 million handing out more than 200 bottles.

Such a grand gesture is unsurprising for one of the biggest bars in Sanya. The well-decorated bar is conveniently located for transportation, and it is usually bustling with expensive cars and beautiful women. With the venue known as a hotspot, the minimum charge per person is CNY 8,000.
