“Modern Dynasty 2: War of Others” Drops First Teaser
Scoring lukewarm reception despite a strong 21.9 point viewership, TVB drama Sinister Beings 2 <逆天奇案2> disappoints viewers after the hype of season one, while acquired C-drama Story of Kunning Palace <命轉皇后> which airs an hour later in the weekday 9.30pm slot fared worse with a 15.3 points rating. Teasing heavyweight drama Modern Dynasty: The Others <家族榮耀之繼承者>, the onscreen return of golden couple Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Raymond Lam’s (林峯), and a stellar cast, promise to turn the tide!
“Family is Hell”
Produced by Tommy Leung (梁家樹) and Chen Dexiu (陳德修) behind 2022 hit drama Modern Dynasty <家族榮耀>, War of Others – a Media Asia Group production – was filmed in HK and Malaysia, and continues the dramatic thread of internal family battles among the affluent.
Released April 30th, the teaser casts the spotlight on Gallen Lo (羅嘉良)– who appeared Easter egg-style in the finale episode of Modern Dynasty, and is ‘upgraded’ to full-fledged family member this time, while Charmaine’s female lead role will undoubtedly leave fans anticipating more after her standout performance in Queen of News <新聞女王>.
Despite her capabilities, ambitious Ho Yee (Charmaine Sheh), granddaughter of family patriarch Lau Kong (劉江), is ill-favored due to her father Benz Hui’s (許紹雄) happy-go-lucky personality, while Gallen and son Him Law (羅子溢) hold tightly onto the reins of power. When Lau Kong is stricken by sudden illness, and his letter of attorney assigns the company’s major decision-making role to Ho Yee amid speculation, a chain of tumultuous power struggles ensues, in enactment of viewers’ perennial favorite family feuding genre.
Unveiling the series’ stellar leading cast, Charmaine, Raymond, Gallen, Benz, Lau Kong and Him are joined by familiar names Candice Yu (余安安), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Betsy Cheung (張鳳妮), Dada Chan (陳靜), Toby Leung (梁靖琪), Jeannie Chan (陳瀅), Inez Leong (梁諾妍), Venus Wong (王敏奕), Hugo Ng (吳岱融), Mimi Kung (龔慈恩) and Wilfred Lau (劉浩龍) — each paired with conniving expressions to foreshadow the “relentless infighting among the mega-rich”.
Dropping major scenes of father-son duo Gallen and Him secretly plotting against Charmaine, and another dramatic highlight of Candice Yu slapping Charmaine across the face, will Modern Dynasty 2: War of Others be on your watchlist?

Loved the first one, but I think it’ll feel very different without Tavia.
Also was loving the cast…until I read the second half of it lol. Just hoping the “newer” ones won’t drag the drama down.
