TVB’s Reality Dating Show “Goddess Dating Live” Generates Discussion

TVB reality dating show, Goddess Dating Live (女神配對計劃), attracted plentiful viewers and ignited stimulating discussions online. Hosted by Bob Lam (林盛斌), the show centers around five TVB actresses: Sophie Yip (葉蒨文), Yuki Law (羅毓儀), Carman Kwan (關嘉敏), Stephanie Lee (李芷晴), and Maggie Leung (梁敏巧), who will evaluate and select their dating match among 30 eligible bachelors.

Appearing at a promotional event recently, the five actresses were joined by 12 male contestants. During a live activity, each goddess was randomly paired with a suitor. Sophie happened to draw her rumored boyfriend Randall Tsang (曾展望), which caught both of them off guard. They laughed and questioned whether it was arranged. Viewers eagerly asked when Sophie began developing feelings. She shared their friendship grew while filming Come Home Love: Lo and Behold (愛·回家之開心速遞). Outside of work, they often socialized with mutual friends, and over time her feelings began to change.

Sophie later revealed there were three other contestants currently trying to win her over. Sophie thoughtfully shared, “Love takes time. We girls are treating the process with care and sincerity. We want to handle things thoughtfully and avoid hurting anyone.”

On the other hand, Maggie declined the attention of a 63-year-old participant. She said the age gap made her hesitate. She denied being materialistic and explained she valued ambition and emotional security. She explained, “My goal is to get married and have children. I don’t think there is anything wrong with wanting my future husband to provide a comfortable living situation for me. This is not being materialistic.”

Another male contestant, Kris Lam (林俊其), shared he has admired Yuki since 2019. He became emotional when he thought he might be eliminated. He also took the opportunity to address his past dating rumors with Joey Leung (梁超怡), stressing they were merely friends.
