Brian Chu to Portray a Male Robot in New TVB Drama

Acting for nearly 12 years, Brian Chu (朱敏瀚) started with minor roles before slowly climbing to the top. After winning TVB Most Improved Male Actor in 2020 and Best Supporting Male Actor in 2021, Brian is finally on the path to becoming TVB’s next male lead.

The 30-year-old actor is set to star as a male robot in fantasy romance drama, Virtual Lover <虛擬情人>, alongside Venus Wong (王敏奕). On landing his first lead role, Brian expressed, “I am very happy to come across such a challenging character. As always, I will try my best to do my part well.”

Virtual Lover will share some similarities with AI Lover <智能愛人>, in which Ali Lee (李佳芯) delivered a lovable and convincing performance. On whether Brian is up for the challenge, he responded, “I haven’t received the script yet, so I don’t have a clear understanding of the character. From what I do know, the character is a little different than the AI performances in the past. I’ve read a lot of books and watched films for inspiration on how to approach this character with a new approach.”
