Celebrity Weddings: Meini Cheung and KK Wong

TVB actress Meini Cheung (張美妮) and her longtime boyfriend, hair stylist KK Wong (黃偉強), got married on November 21, 2013. That night, the couple held a 30-table wedding banquet at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, inviting close friends and family from the industry.

Meini, a graduate of TVB’s 13th acting class in 1999, chose classmates Tavia Yeung (楊怡), Matt Yeung (揚明), and Raymond Chiu (趙永洪) as bridesmaid and groomsmen. Industry friends Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), Kayi Cheung (張嘉兒) and Tavia’s elder sister and Come Home Love <愛·回家> star, Griselda Yeung (楊卓娜) were also bridesmaids.

Meini expressed that KK proposed to her under the Eiffel Tower in France. It was a sweet, romantic, and proper proposal. When KK greeted her this morning under a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony, Meini burst into tears.

The couple professed their love for children and joked that they would not be able to control the limit of children they could make. However, KK said the ideal number is two, while Meini wants three.

Tavia Yeung Eager for Bridal Bouquet

Tavia Yeung, who was absent at the TVB Anniversary Gala the day before, was unable to attend the gala as she had caught the flu. However, she recovered in time to attend Meini’s wedding. Hoping to catch the wedding bouquet, Tavia was asked if she expects her boyfriend Him Law (羅仲謙) to propose to her soon. Tavia pretended to have not heard the question, but added that she wants to save more money first before taking her next step in life. Him Law, who arrived at the banquet a few hours later, said he will consider marriage when the age comes.

When giving her blessings to the newlyweds, Kristal Tin (田蕊妮) joked, “Don’t meet as often!” She clarified that she barely has time to spend with Chapman To (杜汶澤) due to their individual schedules, but despite the long distance, their marriage has not changed.

Koni Lui (呂慧儀) and husband Dickson Wong (黃文迪) blessed the couple to have children soon, but when asked if they want kids of their own, Dickson laughed and immediately nodded while Koni shook her head fervently and said, “No!”

Meini has good relations with many stars in the industry and her wedding was attended by numerous TVB colleagues.
