Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun Star in “Welcome to Samdalri”

Upcoming South Korean drama Welcome to Samdalri pairs up Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Wook as childhood friends who step on each other’s toes.

In the drama, Shin Hye Sun plays Cho Sam Da, a young woman who reluctantly returns to her hometown. The entire community is excited for her return, but Jo Sam Da is embarrassed because she had always wanted to leave the island to chase her dream. Failing to keep a low profile, Cho Sam Da sighs in defeat and says, “My return was supposed to be a secret!”

Cho Sam Da works hard to avoid bumping into her childhood friend Jo Yong Pil (played by Ji Chang Wok) and desperately hides behind piles of garbage. Despite her efforts, Cho Sam Da and Jo Yong Pil end up crossing paths. The two friends’ meeting ends in a scuffle, and they fling seaweed at each other!

Sharing their thoughts on the drama, the production team said, “Cho Sam Da and Jo Yong Pil’s unpredictable and chaotic history will bring excitement and laughter to the audience. I hope everyone will look forward to and support Welcome to Samdalri.”.

The drama is directed by Cha Yeong Hoon who previously led When the Camellia Blooms and Forecasting Love and Weather, while being helmed by screenwriter Kwon Hye Joo whose works include Confession Couple and Hi Bye, Mama!

Fans can look forward to the premiere of Welcome to Samdalri on December 2.
