Lonely Christmas for Nancy Wu?
Despite good friend Bob Lam’s (林盛斌) help in sussing out suitable partners for actress Nancy Wu (胡定欣), she remains single!
Attending “TVB Brand Award” ceremony organized by TVB weekly, Nancy had expressed that she would be celebrating with family and friends, and has already firmed up arrangements as Christmas is a festival that she really likes. Recounting a recent conversation with Bob, he had told her, “It’s the year-end and your “report card” ain’t looking too good,” to which Nancy replied, “Indeed, it means you must work doubly hard!” and Bob affirmed “Okay, well noted!”
Nicknamed the entertainment industry’s golden matchmaker, Bob has successfully found partners for many female celebrities including Queenie Chu (朱慧敏) who tied the knot with cardiologist Jason Chan and Sammi Cheung (張秀文), who married finance whiz Billy Wong (王大權). While Bob has been enthusiastically sending photos of a selection from his network of bachelor acquaintances to Nancy, he shared that he has yet to find someone whom she has expressed a liking for.
Past Relationships Ended In Disappointment
Achieving successes in her acting career, Nancy’s past relationships have all ended with breakups, with Deep Ng (吳浩康) and Kenneth Ma (馬國明) amongst her previous boyfriends. Deep married Margiela Kwok (郭思琳) in February this year, while Kenneth and Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) are also busy planning their dream wedding set for 2023. Romantic rumors had flown all over with co-star Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) on the set of A Fist Within Four Walls <城寨英雄> back in 2016, but things came to naught, and Ruco later admitted to going on dates with Phoebe Sin (單文柔), though many were of the view is that Ruco had made use of her for publicity.
Unidentified sources have pointed out that Nancy’s perfectionistic character caused some of the people she has worked with to find her difficult, for which she earned the unflattering “Hong Kong girl” (expressing undesirable personality traits such as self-centeredness) label.
Career Over Romance?
Nancy was 18 when she took part and placed fourth in TVB International Chinese New Talent Singing Championship. Two years later, she participated in “TVB Magazine 3rd Annual CoverGirl Competition”; emerging Overall Winner, and was invited to join the Artiste Training Class. Proving her acting chops, Nancy also clinched the TV Queen award for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016.
Not rushing into things, Nancy says she will let nature take its course, and “dare not” list down criteria for her other half!
