Park Seo Joon Promotes “Concrete Utopia”

South Korean disaster film Concrete Utopia starring Lee Byung Hun, Park Seo Joon and Park Bo Young will open on August 9.

In Concrete Utopia, Park Seo Joon plays public servant Min Seong, whose goal in life is to protect his family. Park Bo Young plays his wife, Myeong Hwa, a nurse who does not lose faith even amid a disaster. Park Bo Young joked that some viewers may not want to see Park Seo Joon and her act so sweetly to each other. However, she thought it was important to portray a realistic image of a married couple.

To help promote the movie, the production crew created an Instagram account under the name of Park Seo Joon’s character to show off more of his “married life.” The account featured their wedding photos and snippets of their daily life. “If you view the posts and pictures before watching the movie, you’ll be able to see their sweet interactions before the earthquake.”

Park Seo Joon shared, “When I watched the final edit after filming, I tried to view Min Seong and Myeong Hwa’s relationship from a bystander’s point of view. I thought to myself, it would be great if I’m able to show an even better side of myself.”

There was a small incident during promotions for the movie which led to criticism over Park Seo Joon’s “uncooperative attitude.” The actor refused to wear a fox headband from a fan, leaving Park Bo Yong in an awkward situation as she had already put on her bunny headband. Netizens criticized Park Seo Joon, “Why can’t he wear the headband–it isn’t difficult;” “You don’t have to wear it but at least touch it. You are being inconsiderate;” and “They shouldn’t have given a headband to a 30+ year-old man to begin with.” However, fans later showcased Park Seo Joon’s considerate side by posting pictures of him taking care of his fans.

To add onto the good news, Lee Byung Hun also shared that his wife Lee Min Jung has just given birth to their second son.
