Rosita Kwok Gets Criticized After Urging Netizens to be Considerate
After winning second runner-up in the 2020 Miss Hong Kong pageant, Rosita Kwok (郭柏妍) has been heavily promoted by TVB, yet she is often criticized for her acting. Currently appearing in Golden Forest <金式森林>, Rosita is being called out for her blank stares and sharp voice. In response, Rosita is pleading the netizens for forgiveness, but she is met with more criticism.
Rosita took to her social media and pleaded, “I have a feeling that everyone will consider my feelings.” Although Rosita hoped for the best, netizens responded negatively and told Rosita should accept criticism as an artist.
Netizens wrote, “If you’re going to be an actress, you have to know how to act and not as the audience to ‘pretend’ to like you. How often do you hear people praising you for your acting skills and not your looks? Compared to others, you have so many more opportunities to film dramas, but there is no improvement to your acting. All your performances are the same, big eyes, shorts and showing off your legs is called acting?”
Another netizen left constructive comments, “I understand people have emotions, but honestly your performance in ‘Golden Forest’ has a lot of room for improvement. Your dialogue is often unclear, and in some scenes, it feels like you’re just reading lines. This part isn’t related to you but your character is unrelated to the main storyline. Your romantic line with Joey Law (羅天宇) is unappealing. Looking at your overall acting range, most of your roles are youthful character because of your age. Your range is too fixed. Perhaps if you move to another TV station, your development will be better.”
Rosita has personally replied to the comments and thanked the netizens, “Thank you for your feedback. I also feel that I didn’t do many things well.” Rosita’s post was later deleted.

I don’t know her since I haven’t followed her career but I’ve seen enough of terrible new TVB actresses and I can say after a decade, people will not remember how terrible she was and will say she improved and is now a veteran, award winning, etc when the acting is maybe still as awful. Stay in this industry long enough you will find fans, whether we agree or disagree on the acting skill.
I’ve said it before, she can only play certain roles. For some reason, TVB is heavily promoting her and sleeping on some really solid actors like Momo Wu (female) and Yeung Chiu Hoi (male).
As a newcomer in a highly competitive industry, her acting skills will be heavily judged and measured against other actresses of her generation since winning the ‘Most Improved Actress’ award in 2022. In this series, unfortunately, there was a lack of chemistry between her & Joey. Joey is a terrible actor to begin with and I still couldn’t comprehend the reason for TVB to promote him as the next leading actor. She may find the spark if paired with the right actor ie Karl Ting or Telford Wong.
