TVB Confirms Wong Cho Lam Did Not Leave Station

Taking the Chief Creative Officer position at TVB last year, Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍) partnered with Eric Tsang (曾志偉) to revitalize the station’s variety show content. Although Cho Lam had a successful year at TVB, recent rumors of him departing the station left netizens confused and displeased.

It was said that Linda Chung’s (鍾嘉欣) TV Queen loss was the driving factor in Cho Lam’s resignation. After Linda lost Best Actress, he allegedly had a fallout with executives Virginia Lok (樂易玲) and Catherine Tsang (曾勵珍).

In supposed retaliation, Cho Lam brought Vincent Wong (王浩信), Owen Cheung (張振朗), and Samantha Ko (高海寧) to China for work. While Cho Lam did not address the rumors directly, he only responded with the words, “It’s infuriating.”

In attempt to disperse false allegations, TVB issued a notice and stated, “We’ve noticed rumors of Wong Cho Lam’s resignation being circulated online, and we just want to clarify that he has not departed from TVB. Promoting work in China is a top priority – our company has always worked with teams that were familiar with the Chinese market in hopes of expanding the business. Wong Cho Lam is currently helping our company produce shows in China.”

Currently in Changsha, Wong Cho Lam singlehandedly brought TVB and Mango TV together to collaborate on new show Undying Sound of Music <聲生不息>. The new singing competition will help promote and bring together talented singers from China and Hong Kong.
