Xiao Zhan Tops 2023’s Male Celebrity Endorsement Rankings

Chinese artiste Xiao Zhan (肖戰) is named the 2023’s most beloved endorsed celebrity after being revealed to have 34 endorsement deals under his belt. Xiao Zhan’s appeal has surpassed other A listed stars such as Wang Yibo (王一博) and Yang Yang (楊洋).

Xiao Zhan’s star power has helped many brands gained publicity. According to media reports, Xiao Zhan was chosen to be the global spokesperson for French jewelry brand Boucheron just a few days ago. Already, many fans have taken online to show their purchases. One superfan has confessed to spending 5 million yuan (approximately $686,000 US dollars) in one order just so they can support Xiao Zhan.

The star first found his acting breakthrough in 2019’s drama The Untamed <陳情令>. This year, Xiao Zhan made an appearance in The Youth Memories < 夢中的那片海>, The Longest Promise <玉骨遙>, and Sunshine By My Side <驕陽伴我>.

Wang Yibo Takes Runner-up

Wang Yibo is the second most endorsed star in 2023 and fans suspects that his popularity took a slight hit after being rumored to be in a relationship with Zhao Liying (趙麗穎) after starring in The Legend <有翡> together. The rumored couple were spotted wearing the same necklace and were eating from the same bowl in a variety show. Recently Wang Yibo was accused of wearing a wig and dressing up as a woman to secretly attend a concert with Zhao Liying.

Despite the rumors, Wang Yibo still maintains a healthy image and has 27 endorsements. This year, the actor showcased his acting skill in the movie Hidden Blade <無名> which grossed over 139 million USD in the global box office.

Yang Yang Takes Second Runner-up

Yang Yang had 24 endorsements despite lukewarm reception of his drama Fireworks of My Heart <微微一笑很傾城>. The actor was criticized for his “greasy” acting and was rumored to be in a relationship with his co-star Wang Churan (王楚然). Nevertheless, Yang Yang’s good looks are favored by brands, and he continues to maintain strong star power.

Wu Lei and Wang Junkai Gain Star Power

Actor Wu Lei (吳磊) who had his acting debut as a child actor takes the fourth place with 19 endorsements after earning praises for his natural acting skills Love Like the Galaxy <星漢燦爛>. Meanwhile, Wang Junkai (王俊凱) of boyband TFBOYS takes fifth place with 17 endorsements.
