Zhang Ziyi, Chen Kun Criticize Malaysian Government Over Flight 370 Tragedy

On March 24, the Malaysian government officially announced that Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 had crashed into the Indian Ocean without any survivors. Prime Minister Najib Razak’s announcement was made without producing further evidence, and no wreckage has been found of the plane, which has been missing since March 8. Since two-thirds of the plane’s passengers are Chinese, local celebrities Zhang Ziyi (章子怡), Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明), Li Bingbing (李冰冰) and Chen Kun (陳坤) reacted with anger over the Malaysian government’s handling of the missing plane, criticizing its incompetency and accusing it of hiding information.

Zhang Ziyi posted on her Weibo, “Malaysian government, you have hurt the whole world! We are looking for the plane. You are looking for opportunity. Malaysian government, you are wrong today. You have misjudged how a government should handle international politics. You have misjudged the kind of respect a government should have for the people. You have misjudged the Chinese people’s persistence in finding out the truth.”

Huang Xiaoming posted, “I really could not take it anymore. The Malaysian government should give everyone an explanation. Give everyone the truth. Give the deceased respect! We want the truth!”

Chen Kun, who was never one to hold back his words, proclaimed he will indefinitely boycott all Malaysian produce and tourism unless the government provides a satisfactory explanation. He said, “With regards to the Malaysian government and Malaysia Airlines’ clown-like prevarication, lies, and disrespect for my compatriots, I speak for myself that I’m going to boycott Malaysian products and tourism…unless the Malaysian government removes their clown mask and gives us the truth.”

Director Wong Kar Wai (王家衛) expressed his sadness over the disappearance of The Grandmaster’s <一代宗師> stunt coordinator, Ju Kun (鞠坤), who was one of the passengers on board flight MH370. Wong said, “A very sad piece of news. The announcement was so sudden. Don’t even know if there would be more news today. But I will remain hopeful as long as the Malaysian government and the airlines have not found any evidence. I hope Ju Kun’s family will be strong. Hope there’s a miracle.”

Li Bingbing expressed her sorrow and also demanded to know the truth behind the missing plane.

  1. How can our PM explain why and how the plane went missing when the black box hasn’t been found? They keep asking our govt to exp,Qin and give answers. What answers can they give that they themselves don’t have. Please be reasonable and have more intellectual intelligence rather than being emotional. No wonder they are in the entertainment. Cos they like to cause drama!

    1. The answer is in the maths simply said. Understandable without the plane they won’t believe. But the whole thing about truth (what’s the question again??) and Malaysia being murderers is really really uncalled for. I was glad our acting minister also took the bait and sorta chastised the chinese presss because we need to vent our anger at these unjust accusations too.

  2. Why nobody had such reaction when Korean Airlines And China Airlines crashed umpteen times in avian history?

  3. Personally, I will boycott both Malaysian and Mainland products. I don’t blame all the above artists for criticizing Malaysia, for they obviously could not do so in their own country: China. I guess this is a good opportunity for them to be political once in their lives time since they were not allowed to do so from the day they learned to speak and talk in their childhood. This is the side effect of the communist ideology, I guess.

The other party, the Malaysian government, on the other hand, is another joker who likes to behave like the Chinese Communist Party (CPC). Both of these parties should become best friends instead. Both are equally terrible countries. And terrible products. I mean, really!

    1. All those who say boycott Msia and China products may wish to know China is Msia’s second largest export destination; and China is also M’sia second latest import originator. These are not end products per se. These are components and raw materials. So even if you avoid a labelled Made in *** product, there will be components in the product (the rubber for making the car tire for example) that will be from either country. For the Chinese celebs who say boycott – to me, they are quite naive.

      1. The tragedy should be handled with maturity and tolerant, not emotion and anger. The scale of pain and damages is on Malaysian side. Malaysian airlines have lost their captain, crews, all people on board regardless the nationality, and material damages. It is a shame Chinese arrogant pointing fingers and self centers, international community watched their typical behavior by blaming without full supports of evidence. This should give a chance for Malaysian government to counter lawsuit for torts. Politic can turn around who is actually committed into this air horror action. If we play a blame game, Chinese always look down on Malays people in the world, they want to create a negative image on Malays people, so they have the motive, right? Crimes should be studied based on motives and root causes. So, without tangible evidence Chinese should not jumped into political opportunity to crush, and cash benefit. No way. International Tribunal may involve soon or later, unless the evidence showed the caused of the tragedy. There is no motive for Malaysian airlines, and Malaysian government off course. International organization, countries should contribute for the cost of investigation, before Chinese will take over and create their own story and their own benefit. There should be accusation of ” delay ” of response, because no countries know up to now, what is really happened. So, do not push to trap then blame for getting benefit on this tragedy. I urge more international people response for helping Malaysian from the ‘sharks’ for “blood” money. This tragedy can happen to any country. Political conspiracy is behind the tragedy and should be carefully traced, and punished, and it is the responsibility of all airlines in the world. No airlines want to be in Malaysian airlines position, so do not take advantage of the tragedy both for political and money. I salute and condolences to Malaysian airlines pilot and crews families, all people on board families, and friends, Malaysian government. The 21st century shall mark the implementation of new airline security policy to help each other in need and in success stories. Please do so, because it is worth for future of all airlines.! Peace and Be Strong to Malaysian Government.

    2. I think this paragraphs taken from Malaysia Digest sums it up well. There are people here who sound like a broken record that keep playing the same tune over and over and over, rebutting all the ‘other’ reasonable comments and only starkly concern about the ‘grieving Chinese families.

      Reproduced in verbatim:
“These unbridled emotions have long degenerated into bouts of Malaysia-bashing, with wild and outrageous accusations thrown at our officials and our nation by what has became a rude, noisy, unreasonable and hostile mob bent on venting their personal frustrations at something, somewhere, somehow.

And Malaysia became this punching bag.
While a little “thank you for your concern, support and hospitality” may be beyond these guests of Malaysia Airlines, we didn’t expect a noisy demo in the media briefing hall either. And not least the Malaysia-bashing banner which read: “We protest against the Malaysian government withholding information and wasting time and hampering search efforts.”

As for the Western Media, the LA Times quoted a typical line — with the same flavor repeated again and again among their compadres — this time purportedly by a grieving family member in Beijing:-

“I’m angry at Malaysia for not telling the truth. From the start they were buying time, withholding facts, and now they’re distorting the truth.'”

      Really? The truth?
So what “truth” do you want?

That the plane crashed? No, you won’t accept it. The plane was hijacked? No also. The plane landed somewhere? Again No. The plane is lost and will NEVER be found? A big No No.

Then what do you really want to hear? Do you even know WHAT you want to hear?

NO country has a monopoly on grief.

Malaysia also lost 50 of its citizens. These are fathers, wives, siblings and children of quietly grieving families across our land. Indonesia lost seven people, Australia six, India five, with others spread over 11 other countries and territories.

It made me, and us angry at the ‘ugly’ Beijingers, and that’s to put it mildly.

      1. I truly agree with Fairness…I am a Malaysian and I won’t be on Malaysian Government side if we knew there were any hidden agenda. But I am so sorry to say that Malaysia is not the only country looking for that flight! USA, AUSTRALIA, VIETNAM, NZ, CHINA, JAPAN, FRANCE n etc..are the countries that were also there to help to fing the flight. Informations given were from them too. Why just point ur fingers just to Malaysia!? I admit our government did acted very unprofessional but Malaysians out there were also very sad about the tragic and we had lost a lot of the crew members and Malaysians passengers too.
Please learnt the fact first! We don’t even know whether is already crashed or hijacked?! And if it is hijacked..who are these terrorist aim at? Malaysia? China? Or USA? We don’t know yet… Please be reasonable.

      2. there probably is a hidden agenda that the officals isnt disclosing. how funny that the info currently protected is all regarding how malaysia runs that airport.

      3. why keep saying it is funn funn funn , Anynymous ? No other Malaysians can write logically their views other than funn , is it?

      4. Pat, I agree. Moreover I don’t use another name here, just my name as I said, no reason to use another name. They see my name and immediately they are ready to write the opposite. They hate me, I am used to that. Why they think others write like me or is me is because they just can’t believe another person will agree with me without writing they agree with me.

    1. wonder what and why they are hiding. If so, imalaysia is incompetent and neglience?

      1. “The sealed evidence included air traffic control radio transcript, radar data and airport security recordings ”

ah, of course. concludes everything. it was solely an error on malaysian officials. not releasing it to save face

      2. Fluffy,
Of course airport security cannot be disclosed. If so, everyone in the world will know where to hide.

        Dumb conclusion you have given.

      3. fluffy, do you know anything about ‘National security’?

      4. I don’t post with any other name other than my own. I don’t need to.

  4. Pot calling kettle black. Look at how they handled the Qiandao Lake Incidents that involved a group of Taiwanese tourists back then. And they are now calling for transparency? How ironic. It is sad for the whole world and Malaysia itself has lost about 40 of its people and other countries too but they don’t go around calling of boycotting to gain cheap publicity.

    1. Well said! As for me I will not watch anymore of Zhang Ziyi’s movie at the cinema. Ban everything relating to her! How can she simply accuse without solid evidence as well? She has no idea how much efforts, time and courage the SAR spent and it’s ongoing until the plane is found. Naïve b!###

      1. so true.. boycott Zhang Ziyi.. a beauty without brain, will give unbrilliant statement without knowing the facts. she dont know how much effort have been taken to do SAR and other related action due to the missing plane.

      2. She doesn’t care about a small country like Malaysia. Most important is she can gain back the love of the Chinese populace. The market is way bigger there.

      3. yeah no need to watch their shows and talk show especially the matchmaking ‘mong fei’ . do not waste money on buying their movies or dramas. there are better dramas from Singapore, korea or even local dramas. who needs hongkong, taiwan & china drama anyway!

  5. Boycott all the Msian product or China for all you want. In less than 6 months after this die down, it is back to business as usual.

The backlash on the incompetent Msian govt is expected but the way the Chinese ppl is throwing tantrum of Malaysian ppl is totally uncalled for. We malaysian also lost our families n friends on that plane. We also hope they can be found but what all these uncouth China netizen curse n label is Malaysian is totally uncalled for! They curse poor fîsh Leong’s baby and called Gary Chaw a beast… WTF!!

With all the melamine milk case n the poor baby multiple accidents in China, how can the outcry for those horrible incidents is not as loud as with MH370? Is it because they dare not go against their own govt? In the incidents involving the baby, the ppl there dare not help because they were afraid of being the Good Samaritan., as the victim may turn around and say the Good Samaritan is responsible. Whose law is that?? China own laws! Why pick on us Malaysian? Just because China think itself as a new superpower. But have you see China Chinese ppl outside China. Singaporean practically hate all the PRC polluting their city. Malaysian, we also don’t like them.. Have you seen them in the market? They are the loud ones with shrill voice pushing ppl away? This is the time I m proud to say I am a Malaysian Chinese not a China Chinese.

We know ppl in China are sad, grieving and confused. So are we! Let the professional do their job and find the reason n wreckage. Before you condemn us Malaysian, look at yourself first. We may have a useless govt, but we are trying our best to improve.
I don’t like Funn and I think the feeling is mutual. But I hv to give her this…… A thumb up

    1. Indeed, pot calling kettle black and a bacteria across the sea they can see but an elephant in front of them they cant see…the substandard n hazardous products and food that they are poisoning the world ???? Some artist just wants publicity …drama queens

    2. This singaporean chinese totally agrees with u, hands and feet all up in agreement.

The plane incident was a accident and unintentional. The melamine case was intentional. And it affected so many pple all over the world. And it hurt mainly children, affecting their main source of nutrition, even worse! Dont even spare children!

I know the prcs r trying to find a source to blame, it helps them cope better. Grieving is a human response but their behaviour now is not helping it for any sides..

Even the bomoh seems trivial now.

      1. But all that said, i also do agree that the investigations or the way press conferences were handled could have been better. I gave up watching out for related news cos it was always
Media/ unnamed malaysian official: “something found!”
Malaysia: “no we never say that/ rumor”

So now whatever news arises, i also dunno if true or when the authorities will say theres no such thing..

      2. I agree also when Najib came out m gave only press statements n didn’t take any question, that was an embrassing to have our PM cowardly not able to take questions from the media. Yes it could be handled better. Too many armchair investigators, speculations and rumor mongering is not helping the matter. Ppl who read selective news and choose to believe hearsay then fans the so called issues are the worst prejudice ppl ever -> I m sure u can see some here on this forum too.

      3. That’s the problem! In the first few days the Malaysians aren’t even sure of their information! Then when the Hisam minister start to take control it has always been media said got Malaysian source say this, and Hisam minister always deny deny inaccurate not true blah. Geez! Where are the real infos!

      4. thinner, do you want the truth or just speculation. there were so many speculations made by the media and most of them are not true, of course our acting MOT will deny it. the speculation hurt the victim’s families so much until Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said that people should only listen to him. did you watch the P ress conference? i bet you didn’t watch it and only relying on CNN

    3. Cannot agree more with you. Lets rise above them and the whole world knows and has seen how poorly these people have been behaving.

    4. Good post! These brainless people should boycott their own country’s ‘toxic’products and people who are famous for conning tourists. But I guess they’re too much of a coward to speak up about their own government so find it easier to bully Malaysia instead. Don’t deserve respect at all. If they want to be helpful should go and try console the grieving families rather than fanning the fire.

  6. thought these stars will be more diplomatic… but sadly they are just another human being pushing the blames without knowing how hard the SAR teams work while they themselves shop & loiter in the comfort of their home… pathetic… i think i will instead need to boycott chinese products? sad…

    1. It reflects their mentality, maturity and desperation for higher ratings and cheap publicity …why dont you putzhang ziyi and chen kun in the world’s most dangerous sea with waves up to 5-7 metres high and find if they areso good at blaming and talking ? Why notfork out your millions to help instead of just sitting back in their luxurious palace and critisize ? If you are notpart of the solution you are part of the problem !! Are they blind to thefact that 26 nations are helping us to find ? And for god fcking same we are a very small country compared to china …look at the population ratio ! In terms of % i bet we lost more ppl than them …. So be reasonable …its as if chinese mainland ppl’s life are only precious ….and come on transparency , human rights and democracy …i dun think they are qualified to critisize others …errr maybe look at your backyard first …anf get a mirror …a big one

      1. Remember, Zhang Zi Yi was accused of cheating money from her own charity fund?

      2. @kanineh… spot on. Looking at the harsh weather conditions at the suspected crash area, have to salute the volunteers helping the search. If i have loved ones on mh370 I would wish to be on one of the ships helping to lookout for any signs or looking through all the satellite photos uploaded at Tomnod’s rather than venting my anger by throwing things and cursing people who are not directly responsible for the incident.

  7. Check out Chicago Tribune article on MH370. All the media interested in is viewership. They’ll do anything to jack up the rating, including sensationalised every piece of information they could get their hand in. U get your news from CNN? Better check your sources first man…. Or was the censorship so bad in your country that you claimed that you didn’t get the ”truth'”?

      1. clearly Julia, you don’t know anything about ‘National Security’.

      2. So they purposely don’t want to publish their ATC data, radar data and airport security recordings? This is why we are all angry! They’re indeed hiding these information from the public!

      3. Even if published I wonder will the public understand? They already have a hard time understanding the scope of the search, how they derive the area for search, etc. However I am sure these info are revealed to the investigative team which I feel have a right to know so that to give a thorough investigation.

  8. Capt. Mike MacSween of the Royal Canadian Air Force has been on exchange with the Royal Australian Air Force for a year and a half and is now leading a crew of 12 in their flights over a huge expanse of heaving ocean.

how they bemoan canada’s effort. and selective choosing articles to back ur ridiculous pov

  9. But to some of the ppl who was Malaysian defending their country, open ur eyes and accept the fact that the malaysia offical hold some duty for not reporting it asap, stalled it for couple of hours, and then stalled for weeks to give some new s on cargo. most recent news say malaysia is indeed hiding info from public. what does tis say? it says that the malaysian ppl knew what has gone wrong but there saving their face, not like their is still face for them.

    1. What is more important….? What is in the cargo or finding the plane?? whatever that is in the cargo doesn’t matter anymore, whatever speculation that the cargo holds illegal US tech does not matter at all. The most importatnt thing is finding that plan. Yes it wasn’t reported asap, this is an unprecedented first for everyone. It probably haven’t crossed the air controller’s mind that something is wrong. yes, Malaysian GOVERNMENT screw up, we Malaysian are also not happy with them.
It is ppl like you who cannot differentiate between the bureaucrats govt and the ppl. The reason why other ppl reading your post might misinterpret that it is it is Malaysian ppl who caused the plane crash! we also lost our family and friends on that plane.

    2. How is it that finding the cargo is more important than finding the plane?

    3. Malaysians have a right to defend their country just like the Chinese have a right to criticize it. Patriotism works both ways. Yes, we have accepted the fact that Malaysia has made many mistakes over this tragedy but it has also endured the bashing and the vitriol with heads bowed, mouths shut and dignity held high. It has since tried its best to atone for its mistakes. Nobody wants this to happen least of all Malaysia who will have to pay a huge and protracted price in the long run. We have been punished enough by the rest of the world. Enough is enough!

      1. “We have been punished enough by the rest of the world. Enough is enough! ?”

Punished? Malaysia is punished? They’re not punished. And of course, Malaysia will have to pay “a huge and protracted price in the long run” since it happened to their airline. Do you expect USA to pay for another country’s mess?

  10. If it’s not your country’s fault, whose fault would it be then?
and the people who ent with fake passports was say to be not involved, just asylum seeker.

    1. i feel, if the information is closely related to national security, then the Malaysian government’s action is reasonable.

      1. not when people are suspecting malaysia’s actions may have resulted in this.

  11. I hate when people defend their government like this ”oh your country has corruptions too, remember your country did this, did that…..bla bla bla”

  12. LOL i saw video of some malayasian shaman performing some funny ritual to look for the plane.

  13. no, even with plane found, it doesnt mean that they will kno the truth. look at the 1977 malaysian airplane incident. even to this day, they dont know the full truth.

    1. My childhood friends lost their father on that flight back in 1977. I still remember that period in our community. It was very very sad.

  14. My, my, my…..I hv been out of action for a week & this new article on China’s celebs garnering 299 comments already?

” Zhang Ziyi posted on her Weibo, “Malaysian government, you have hurt the whole world! We are looking for the plane. You are looking for opportunity. Malaysian government, you are wrong today. You have misjudged how a government should handle international politics. You have misjudged the kind of respect a government should have for the people. You have misjudged the Chinese people’s persistence in finding out the truth.”

ZZY lashing out on the Msian govt is totally appropriate (it’s response was chaotic, misleading & they made various conflicting, contradictory statements thus making everyone of us confused & unsure whether they are telling the truth & also hiding something from us) & the fact that she didn’t go further like her colleagues eg. Chen Kun in instigating chinese ppl to boycott Msian goods & ppl is laudable. Perhaps that is due to the fact that she has a close Msian friend, I.e. Michelle Yeoh.

But why must chinese netizens go after Fish Leong & Gary Chaw? By virtue of being Msians? What logic is that? This will only make us, Msians find the Chinese uncouth & irrational ….

I am proud of my distant relative who mourned the loss of their loved ones in a calm manner.

On the economic front, there will be a drastic shortfall in the number of tourists coming to Msia…simply unavoidable but, hopefully this will be a short term effect only. Time will heal….

  15. Funn and the Malaysian supporters here do not understand the Chinese POV! You guys are ignorant! The Chinese are bounded by the one child policy and surpressed freedom all these years, most of them lost their only son or daughter on the flight! Can’t blame them if their anger is more than other nationalities! Do you know the Malaysians also cheapskate only allow 5 next of kin per passenger and 2 rooms per passenger NOK in Lido hotel where got enough to put 5 people in two rooms? 5000$ is too little for initial compensation! Many of the Chinese next of kin lost their only son and source of income!

How dare yesterday I read some source said that the minister boldly said some evidence currently investigated are sealed and can’t be made public! What law is this! We want everything out in the open! Why don’t the FBI say something!

    1. We want the truth! How can they simply declare that some evidence can’t be disclosed? We want to know everything! All the truth should be revealed! What is the international court of justice of doing! Why is the FBI so silent and not reprimanding them?

    2. Someone should help create a petition in white house page if it reach 10,000 votes they say obama and white house will respond!

      1. petition to the white house – doesn’t work.. don’t bother

What truth u want? Malaysian govt screwed up the SAR, truth! They gave misleading info, truth! what else ?? The plane crash? If the plane have’t landed by 830 that morning, yes it have crashed… it is already a forgone conclusion
Stop shouting you want the truth,if nothing you can accept. What truth would you like??
We are not ignorant. One child policy is not Malaysia’s law. What you are saying is that the grief of losing a son = losing a source of income is too great? Seems like you are putting higher emphasis on $$, than a loss of a human life.

      2. Malaysia is a democratic country with its own constitution. You want to petition to white house? Start with china and its various policies first. And FBI is advisory, they do not have control over our sovereignity. I was sure China would understand this point, apparently in times of tragedy all sense is lost.

Look! We share your grief. I share your grief. I understand the family’s pain and anxiousness and I myself am questioning the ever changing scope of search, area, etc. My first reaction at that news was how preemptive when there’s no debris, no bodies. However the reaction after is apalling. Calling us murderers, boycotting our stuff and stars, organising protests, throwing bottles, harassing our representatives, calling names, etc etc when everyone is busy out there looking, searching. Saying things like we don’t trust anything you say, we want the truth. Like a robot programmed with WE WANT THE TRUTH! WE WANT THE TRUTH!

What truth? What is your question? You want us to say the plane is safe in the hanger and did not fly at all, it is april fool’s joke? Is that it? Right now no answer can be given except theories supported by the agencies conducting the search and investigation. Don’t believe? Ask NTSB, ask FAA, as FBI, ask the westerners then. They are not disputing, they’re looking. We don;t understand? Yeah we don’t! We don’t understand the hysterics and the uncalled for accusations. Everyone is baffled but China is making all these noise and is not helping.

Is one child policy the excuse to act in such a way? Well why didn’t they boycott themselves with the earthquakes that wiped out the young children with this 1 child policy? I will tell you why. They are given permission to vent their anger at the easiest scapegoat but let me ask you this, what did the malaysian govt or MAS or fellow malaysians do to take down this plane? Nothing. At best you can accuse our authorities of being incompetent but everyone agrees this situation is unprecendented, we bungled, we made mistakes but frankly the plane was on its way to its own doom anyway. What more could we have done?

Why can’t everyone remain classy in times of grief? Vent your anger in the courts, sue us, make us pay but right now throwing bottles at us won’t bring back your child or reveal whatever truth you’re seeking for.

We are also asking for what happened. This will take years. YEARS! China is not the only one who suffered. Malaysians will suffer too. And when the hysterics die down, life goes on. Malaysia will be ok, China will be ok and in time we will finally know what happened so as to give peace to everyone and will change the rules of aviation industry forever.

      3. It is very sad to see this tragedy happened. I am sure every person on earth will share this sad moment. Why can’t everyone remain classy in times of grief?

      4. Funn Li: Did you log onto New.Strait Times online yesterday? The Malaysian authorities are said to suspect the opposition party Parkatan T (my apologies if I got the spelling wrong) is behind the Chinese protest in Beijing. Like you said Malaysia is a democratic country so I respect their freedom of press and reporting should be reliable. This piece of news could be found after 19:00 27/3 I didnt invent it, most amusing

      5. Because Mockinggenius mentioned it at least twice and to those interested on the contents.

      6. Funn Lim,

Well, it is interesting that you said Malaysia was a democratic on the one hand and said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahatir was an idiot who did not represent Malaysians despite being elected on the other hand.

      7. qwerty, there is no conflict in what I said. He is an idiot to make such an OTT speculation without basis which is why only NST mentioned it as far as I know. He made a personal statement, not one representing the people. If he had thought about it, he wouldn’t have made such a statement. I am sure his father would slap him a bit.

    3. Bingbing, no one is denying that questions on the missing aircraft needs to be answered. Families of the missing victims need answers….we ALL agree to that.
I believe that answers will be provided so long as national security is not put at risked. This isn’t just a Malaysian issue. It’s an issue with ALL countries.
I have no comment as I don’t know any better about how the families of victims are accommodated.

      1. there may be no answers. the last malaysian incident was unsolved, some families from that incident still dont know the actual truth. not to put cold water, but how likely will this be solved?

      2. Eureongie: read mine and Thinner ‘s comments and digest what we want to put across before critizing us. Funn ‘s comments are not only biased but comical too. Does the Chinese families’ wailing and crying bother you, please stick something in your ears to shut out the noise. They don’t need your sympathy. Thanks.

      3. @mockinggenius.. I have read the comments by you and Thinner. Some of your arguments are valid, although I don’t agree with all.
As for Thinner, there are many who pointed out the flaws, using concrete examples, in some of the points he/she made (like SIA and Korea Air being safest with no incidents, with CNN being unbias etc). When he/she started bashing the teenager for tweeting to cope with her grief, Thinner has lost all credibility.

      4. Zyf123: Funn so far have posted comments here which were over the top. The bereaved Chinese people were criticised for their display of grief, their protest in the Malaysian embassy was organised by the PRC authorities, Chinese citizens don’t have assess to news so they believe all propaganda fed to them etc. To her all PRC citizens are not only ignorant but ill mannered people etc. If you have time read all her comments. When I refuted her claims and questioned the latest error resulting in a search of the wrong area of the IOcean she asked me to volunteer my expert service and will build a temple in my name and worship me as a living god. So even to question NOT criticise the Malaysian govt handling of this disaster is not acceptable. Funn will do well to handle all propaganda work for the M authorities. One last word zyf if you are not familiar with PRC history, there are reasons why this generation especially those 50+ display grief in this way. Besides grieving is never pretty especially when someone have lost their whole family for unexplainable reasons. They can only bombard those they believe who hold the information. Leave these families alone, they have a right to protest and scream.

      5. Besides grieving is never pretty especially when someone have lost their whole family for unexplainable reasons.

Yeah. Look at the Canadian couple. The parents have “died” in an accident. Their very young children have now become orphans. Do you really think that $5000 will be enough for the next couple of years? Who will take care of these children? What should their relatives tell these children about their parents as they grow older? That they have died in an unfortunate event that no one knows what happened? That when it happened, Malaysian officials were very slow? Oh, not to mention the airfare of this trip was roughly $5000+ USD. They basically only returned what these people paid. This accident/incident have disrupted many families. And why is Funn telling MockingGenius to volunteer when a Malaysian asked “Why should I?” in response to someone’s question of Funn should also do the same thing. Funn rather retaliate our comments than to volunteer when this happened to her national airline. What does tell of Funn’s personality? Funn, on one hand, is telling the complainers to do something, but on the other hand, Funn is not doing anything useful and being indifferent. Instead she is running to her blog and ranting it all out. And if she is that fed up with all of our complaints, then don’t go online for the timebeing. Simply it’s not posted on this site, it doesn’t mean people would stop commenting.

Funn claims that China has a state-run news. Well wake up, so does Malaysia. Malaysia government suppresses the press in Malaysia [as in the government runs what goes on press] and sometimes censor the international media as well. So Funn needs to stop “cherry picking” and accept that Malaysia is as corrupted as China in terms of how news is reported.

      6. “Do you really think that $5000 will be enough for the next couple of years?”

        Sigh…

    4. Funn: You have commented several times in this column that PRC authorities are behind their citizens protest. Now someone from the Malaysian authorities suspected that someone else is the culprit, you call him an idiot. Wow, he must be someone important enough to be quoted by NST, so we outsiders from now onwards should treat all statements which are unfavourable to your country to come from idiots. That’s tragic.

      1. Funn, your democratic country, it’s politicians are indeed very, very extraordinary people. Is there a list somewhere of the brilliant ones ie not idiots so we can rely on their comments as believable news. Thanks

      2. Agree Mockinggenius, Funn just show her biasness there. I wish she can understand the feelings of the wailing and protesting Chinese families before sputtering her bias support at her country. At least the wailing and protesting Chinese families are putting pressure on the Malaysian authorities and the SAR team! What has others done? The little girl for example only know how to post pictures and beg sympathy from the world and Christians and football fan clubs from her tweets.

      3. wow thinner, you’re supporting the wailing chinese, but talk bad about that girl who trying to stay calm and coped with her feeling with her own way. you want us to understand the wailing and protesting Chinese families, but you didn’t even try to understand that little girl. wow, applaud for you. so much for unbiased support

      4. Eureongie, I know! Funny isn’t it I am accused of being biased and yet here are two or one in particular who mocked the grief of a poor girl. I suppose throwing bottles and crying murderers are more good examples of exhibiting grief than tweeting or posting about it. Ignore them because their posts speak for themselves and the level of emphathy they can have for others.

      5. Funn, I apologise on behalf of my aunt who lost her entire family for crying, wailing out her grief. She might have even shouted out “murderers” or threw a plastic bottle or two. She is incapable of tweeting so this is her way to grief. I am sure you are the most well mannered person and should you find yourself in the same tragic circumstances one day, you will be composed and dignified. If you represent your fellow Malaysians, I have nothing but sympathy for you all….

      6. @ Thinner
If you think you have the right to an opinion, then you should also accept the fact that Funn and other Malaysians have the same right too. Stop being so condescending. Seems to me you have a personal agenda against Malaysia and everything and everyone associated with it. And stop bashing the poor girl on Twitter who lost her father in the same tragedy. She has her own way of dealing with her grief and loss just like the Chinese have their own way of doing so. You should leave her alone if you can’t muster an ounce of sympathy for her loss.

      7. Mockinggenius, your statement with such condescending tone merely goes to show how you mock yourself and your own aunt’s loss. I did not mean one specific person, I meant the reaction and I did not say wailing, crying out her grief in such a contemptous way as you have described it and has in your numerous posts against Malaysia and this tragic incident. You seem to enjoy belittling others and magnifying your aunt’s grief when everyone’s grief should be given consideration. If you think you’re speaking out for your aunt, let me tell you, you’re not doing her any favours. I am sure your aunt is grieving hard and with dignity but your malicious posts in this article has been nothing but mean spirited and you kept saying I and several commenters saying things which you have put entirely out of context. You and Thinner together has formed a one team of mocking, belittling, bad mouthing other commenters speaking for Malaysia and the rest and questioning and criticising NOT the pain of loss BUT the reaction by the various parties over unsubstantiated claims. You’re doing your aunt and fellow Chinese who suffered loss a disservice and you should be ashamed of yourself.

      8. ” I am sure you are the most well mannered person and should you find yourself in the same tragic circumstances one day”

You have been wishing this several times towards me and some other commenters. I see nothing but sarcasm and your way of wishing tragedy on our loved ones as if to say “Wait till it happened to you”. You’re nothing but a mean spirited troll. Ever thought the more you wish on others such bad luck the more it bounce back on you? No I do not wish for that to happen to you. But I don’t imagine if the situation is reversed and people unreasonably blame your country for everything and someone called Mockinghenius and Thinner post the exact same posts which you did against you who is defending your country’s honour and trying to reason with people you think can be reasoned with, I wonder, do you see any fun in the sarcasm you just displayed?

      9. @ Anonymous and all those who have posted comments here critizing the bereaved Chinese families especially those who went so far as to say all PRC people are uncivilized: Pray hard that you will never have to face such tragedies in your lifetime. Those poor lost souls are watching.

      10. “Pray hard that you will never have to face such tragedies in your lifetime. ”

But we are!! I may not be related to the victims on MH370, but they were Malaysians too. Someone will know someone who knows someone on that plane. We share their grief, their pain and the bewilderment of their family as to what happened.

And this is I think the 3rd or 4th time wishing that on someone. How mean spirited.

      11. Funn my comments match yours an ounze for an ounze. Only people with no sense of sympathy or what is humanity will laugh or critize people for their own way if mourning.

      12. Funn: Have you.chosen to be blind yo some comments posted here by your fellow Malaysians: Chinese people are ugly in mourning. uncivilized people from an even worst country, they are putting on a show for insurance money. You want me to quote more?

      13. So I should not comment on the way how there was protests, proclaiming Malaysia as murderers, scream for boycott and demanding the truth when they don’t even know the question? I am not questioning their grief or mourning. Oh I can’t match your enthusiasm in hoping the same tragedy on others, I can’t match your enthusiasm for one sided grief for one particular nation and I certainly can’t match your sarcasm and your ability to read but not read well whatever myself and others have to say. You twist our words and pick and choose only those that fit your agenda. I can see why all this is a lost cause. And please save your breath in wishing tragedy on my loved ones so I know how they feel as your final greeting. You have wished me quite a few times and point is taken.

      14. “Chinese people are ugly in mourning. uncivilized people from an even worst country, they are putting on a show for insurance money. You want me to quote more?”

Then name that specific person! Don’t lump it all into all Malaysians and certainly don’t point the finger at me!

      15. Funn You have commented that these protestors were manipulated by the PRC autborities etc. To you.this is not an insult? Does grief need manipulation? When someone from your own govt implied otherwise you claimed he is an idoit. You can choose to support your country but leave those grieving families alone. Grieving is nevet pretty and there are reasons wny.PRC chinese behave in their particular way Understand history? They grew up in a country.which have only truly opened up in the last 30 years. People.who only know how to laugh at PRC people.should take a good look at themselves eps those who.ethnic wise are chinese themselves

      16. “You have commented that these protestors were manipulated by the PRC autborities ”

Did I use the word manipulated? I said the protests was organised, I did not say protestors were manipulated. Of course grief does not need manipulation, I believe the grief is genuine. But they needed to vent their grief and Malaysia was easiest scapegoat. It was too well organised. but since you deny that there is nothing more for me to say.

      17. “Only people with no sense of sympathy or what is humanity will laugh or critize people for their own way if mourning.” – mockinggenius

@Thinner – the above by mockinggenius is what I want to say to you.

      18. Mockinggenius, regarding the minister who’s making a silly speculation as you’ve mentioned above, you’d see things clearer IF you’re a Malaysian. It’s just how things are, here in Malaysia (the politic matters I mean). It’s just how they play it, keep putting the blame on each other (among the political parties), politicize issues just to win the hearts of the people for their own political interests and needs. We’ve had enough of such crap everyday. Only those who are smart and rational enough would ignore these rubbish. I can fully understand what Funn is saying. He IS an idiot for making such unimportant statement in a time like this, which isn’t helping at all. It’s simply a political-based statement. The media, is just reporting all the rubbish coming from the politicians, daily (well, I think we’re all aware that the politicians all around the world have the upper-hands on the media). I’m not saying EVERYTHING is rubbish, it’s just that there are some other, better things to be voiced and to report on. It’s like when you get to know someone, he’s telling you a crap but you actually believed it and when you told people who knew the guy well, they’d say, “Just ignore him. He’s like that.” Correct me if I’m wrong. 🙂

  16. Malaysians are also grieving over the loss, not only the Chinese. Every bit of “evidence” needs to be investigated and analysed before informing the public. Why “insult” ALL Malaysians? Please have some sense before lashing, Miss Zhang Ziyi and Mr. Chen Kun (and the rest)!

  17. Funn + other malaysian folks:
its best for you to stay quiet when you are as clueless as the whole world. your posts aint helping anyone at this point, when everyone is biased at this tragedy.

    1. A passerby, why not be fair to everyone and tell everyone to stay quiet since they don’t know too. Unless they know, please we can do with a bit of help here.

      What a biased post.

    2. Why only Malaysians should stay quiet when everyone is equally clueless and bias?

    3. hey a passer-by , please be fair ok ? who are you to ask Malaysian to keep quiet ??? You are just a passer-by just like your name , so why dun you walk past quietly, huh ? we do not claim to know all but all these uncalled for remarks are just way over the top ! Maybe you are also a Malaysian , huh? why so ‘ng chia lan’ .

    4. Oh really? Yes, we’re all clueless but again, why are you guys keep barking at us if you know we’re as clueless as the rest of the world? Our posts and opinions here are most likely to help sooth and sort things out, especially between Malaysia and China. Perhaps it could help to open your blinded eyes, irrational and narrowed minds as well as calming your resentful hearts, at least?

  18. Malaysia is a democratic country with its own constitution. You want to petition to white hous

    BULL.

  19. time we will finally know what happened so as to give peace to everyone and will change the rules of aviation industry forever.

no. the last major accident that happened in malaysia was never truly solved. so you shut up. ignorant savage.

    1. Bobo, you’re the ignorant rude little savage that you are. If you disagree just say so. You need not name calling.

    2. How are we in malaysia ignorant savage just because of some incidents in the past have not been resolved ??
If like this, then a certain country that have a location called Area 51, will be the king of ignorant savages. You want unresolved mysteries? Really u pls shut up…… Do really pls shut up

    3. Bobo, in calling other people ignorant savage , kindly look at yourself first !!!You are so rude and that includes you , anynomous !

    4. sorry to disrupt your little bubble, the 1977 incident was still unresolved and that was a known hijacking incident. so enlighten us by telling us how likely will malaysia folks find the truth in this scenario.

the chances 4 finding plane is none to mininial.

      1. The 1977 aircraft was totally disintegrated. The victims were buried in a mass grave because there was hardly anything that can be identified. One victim was identified because a hand had a ring which revealed her identity to her family.

      2. the point is: the 1977 incident was crashed, no one knows the full story of what happened. if this happened on land, and they werent able to find what has happened. what makes you think that MAS and SAR teams are capable of finding a plane in an ocean that is filled with garbage?

  20. those celebrities mouth is so poison….if they can say like that….we can boycott the’re movie…

    1. To be honest, I haven’t seen a zhang ziyi movie!!!! Whoops!

  21. Not only the celebrities are trying to boycottmalaysian products. Now the rich kids in china as well ( mostly Billionaire/Millionaire’s kids).. The thing is they really seem to be patrotic
Weibo post :these are written in chinese so i’ve translatted it.

    @WangYiLing <- ( daughter of a chinese billionaire )
Such a poor goverment, be responsible, dont just sit back and enjoy your coffe while hundreds of my compatroits are suffering. I'd buy nothing from your country.

@ChenHao (Grandson of a Chinese Billionaire)
Let us unite and boycott everything from Malaysia, well its ok since we dont have much " made in malaysia " here! Wake up and be a responsible goverment.no wonder notceveryone knows about malaysia.

    1. Now even the daughters and grandsons of billionaires don’t want to buy their goods and feel for the sufferings of hundreds in China

    2. Maybe the chip inside the computer is by us? Will they rip it off from the computer then? Silly people. I wonder what have they been reading or is this mob mentality? Responsible govt? Why not tell that to China first! I wonder how irresponsible was Malaysia? We are still out there, searching, daily press conferences, standing there harrassed and insulted but staying quiet, given to China all the data they demanded… what more? WHAT MORE?!

Or I should be more specific. Chinese people, not China itself.

A lot of people know about Malaysia thank you very much but more knows about China and its “reputation”. I used to love China but now with these hysterics and pointing finger, perhaps 5000 years of culture has at the end of the day amount to nothing.

These kids are not exhibiting patriotism. It is blind judgment. They probably have more access to the internet than the other folks, so what is the excuse for their ignorance?

      1. I wonder these very same kids, have they stopped eating sushi?

      2. What does this has to do with sushi? Sushi originates from japan!

      3. Thinner, this goes to show your memory very short term…. World War II, the atrocities that the Japanese committed on millions of Chinese citizens… Does that ring a bell ?

      4. We are still out there, searching, daily press conferences, standing there harrassed and insulted but staying quiet, given to China all the data they demanded…

No. these new findings are done by other countries and their satellites.

      5. well, do not buy Malaysian products then! you may have the money but that does not necessarily mean you have to buy the products and Malaysia has the product but does not need to sell to you,too !So do not make this unnecessary threats !

      6. “No. these new findings are done by other countries and their satellites.”

No Malaysia is involved. And did give them the data they demanded.

      7. Or I should be more specific. Chinese people, not China itself.

        ^ Racist person.

      8. “WHAT MORE?!

Or I should be more specific. Chinese people, not China itself.”

Goodness. you telling us not to have “blind judgment”. what are you doing here?

    3. Hmm, then pls do stop buying Malaysian products… Btw I wonder with Malaysia’s rubber, where are all these rich privileged kids gonna buy tires for their flashy car ? Hahaha laughable!

Stop threatening us. Enough is enough

  22. I know everyone is furious. China one child policy – are we saying the rest of the ppl on the plane’s life is worthless? When Sichuan earthquake happened – that action did the government take against those irresponsible ppl? 2000 ppl died mainly children! Milk powder – issue in china killing children for the sake of profit! If the Chinese ppl can accept their loved one died why claiming insurance n getting into legal suits now! Hold on to ur guts – given u say they are not dead. We are talking about international security n military info who is willing to share?treat everyone equally… Each life is precious..no one should be seen as more important than the rest. Malaysian also lost 36 ppl… These ppl are someone’s child, bro, sis, wife, husband, mum n dad too!

  23. I believe the outrage of the chinese are mainly due to how the authorities handle the crisis. At first I also believe Malaysia is inexperience since the last tragedy was 1977. Then more more thing surface. TUDM assume an unknown flying object appeared on their radar has the authority to do a turnback. Come on, you don’t assume when it comes to national security. One person said this and the next person came out to deny it. They is no consistency and coordination.

    1. Does TUDM even know every flight plan? Since it is a MAS plane they did not question it. More so there was no notice of any rouge plane. One thing for sure. TUDM did not shoot the plane down. One theory out.

      1. And I think there was a denial that there was such an assumption.

      2. and you would know this because you’re part of TUDM? if not, why say TUDM did not shoot the plane down?

      3. Because TUDM did not shoot down the plane. The plane crashed for whatever reason HOURS later.

      4. Funn Lim,
The same guy who deny it says he saw an unknown plane at the radar but assume it has the authority in doing so. I am a Malaysian and we all know these people are sleeping on their jobs.

      5. Jenny I admit my mistake. I had someone explaining the significance and I did not realise perhaps on the radar there was no identification of MH370 since everything was shut off. So our TUDM should have followed up. Yes, our defence is appaling. Now the world knows we don’t have sattelites, our defence are sleeping and our immigrations are cross eyed when checking passports.

  24. “We question Malaysia’s motivations in misleading and delaying so as to miss the best moment to find MH370,’’ the relatives wrote in the letter to special envoy Zhang Yesui on Thursday, blasting Kuala Lumpur’s behaviour as “irresponsible’’ and “inhumane’’.

“We earnestly request that China establish an investigation office into MH370,’’ the letter states, also urging “an effective communication system between the relatives and the government’’.

  25. I hope the chinese from china will try to be more rational. Malaysians don’t want that unfateful incident to happen. They shouldnt be punished nor boycotted just because of their government incompetencies. It’s very unfair to the Malaysians in general.

If today this plane belongs to China Airlines and leaves for KL and most of its passengers are Malaysian and the chinese govt handles the whole situation more or less the way the Malaysian govt handles it. So should the Malaysians also boycott the chinese from china for its products, for its people, for everything? That’s such a childish behaviour. I fully understand the anger, the pain and sorrow the victim’s families are going through, however, the whole world dont want this to happen, it’s just unfateful that it has to happen this way.

  26. To Funn Lim & Malaysians,

Please be informed that whether it was an accident, a hijack, a 3-dimensional space incident, an incoming UFO’s act, an act of terrorism, or whatever you wanted to believe, there is a HIGH percentage that Malaysia has to pay compensation for the death – whether the amount of the compensation is small or big is another matter. The Chinese are currently looking for lawyers (from California if I’m not mistaken as it was argued by the Chinese that they are more experienced) to get legal advice, to seek compensation, and to do justice. And guess what happens next? It universally becomes an international case > Malaysia has to pay compensation to all the 200 plus victims’ family members > The prices of goods and services increase in order to get money > Tax increases as well > More corruption > It damages Malaysia’s reputation > The tourism industry is affected > Increase the prices and tax even more > The economy is affected > Crime increases > The police look for more corruption > The citizens protest > The Malaysian government protests > Politic is involved > The country collapses. This country is politically, economically, and socially corrupted!

As for the boycott, I think it is hard for everyone to boycott completely something from a particular country. So instead of boycotting products, why not just boycott all the things that are related to that particular country? For example, if a person wanted to boycott China, the person could avoid chinese people, eating rice and noodles, having chinese tattoo, drinking tea, using chopsticks, watching chinese entertainment, listening chinese music, reading chinese books, talking in chinese dialects, using paper, compass, printing, and gunpowder, traveling to China, and the list goes on! The same thing applies to Malaysia, Hong Kong, western countries, arabian contries, african countries, or any unknown countries.

    1. exactly. actually a Chicago law firm has taken it up and said that regardless of whether the plane is found or not, it can proceed and that MAS has received a copy of the details.

      1. and that they have 28 days to respond, now. Orig. 30 days.

      2. Yes. I just checked again, and it was a Chicago law firm instead. Whatever… as long as they are of caucasian appearance, the chinese will hire them. Plus, they need caucasians to speak english on behalf of them in the court.

    2. ” there is a HIGH percentage that Malaysia has to pay compensation for the death”

Already expected that. This incident did teach me a lot about compensation. There is a fixed sum in USD to be paid irregardless of fault factor. Then there’s the insurance payout. And finally the damages which is compensatory/punitive. That will depend on fault or circumstantial evidence. To file the papers now is too soon since no one knows what is going on.

      1. Ahhh boycott. Now Malaysia is asked to boycott Swedish products. Boycotts everywhere. Sweden is home of Ikea and my reaction is NO WAY!

      2. Funn Lim,

The main issue that I’m concerned is that it is the citizens’ money that is used by the Malaysian government to pay the compensation. And how are they going to get the money? Don’t be surprised if the prices of goods and services in your country increase in the future.

  27. “Even Air France Flight 477, which went down about 650 miles off the coast of Brazil with 228 people aboard in 2009, didn’t pose so great a challenge. Authorities knew the Airbus A330’s location four minutes before it hit the water, and they had some idea of what happened even before finding the black box data recorder and the bulk of the airframe two years later.”

This incident/accident is no way in comparison to AF 477.
#1. They do not know the location of the aircraft, just speculations.
#2. Did it hit in the water? no one knows, if it crashed in water, why no water signal?
#3. “Without physical evidence, and a reasonable amount of it, there are going to be a lot of loose ends,” said Don Knutson, an aircraft accident investigator. “Enough loose ends where there is going to be a very inconclusive finding.”

    con’d

  28. Boycott all that you want! We’ll boycott your movies too. Don’t have to promote your movies here in Malaysia. We are very sorry for your loss and this tragic incident but boycotting our products & tourism simply depict how downright naive and shallow minded these 2 actress and actor are

    1. And in the future, you will see that Malaysians will be portrayed as the villain like how they did with the Japanese in every single Mainland movies and dramas. The Hong Kong entertainment will follow up to get the 1.3 billions viewers.

    2. exactly ! shd stop subscribing to astro for all those extra channels . and also tell those China girls not to come here for soliciting !hey qwerty , same goes for western movies potraying the Chinese as villains also.

  29. Funn, the Malaysian politician who suspect that the PT party to be supporting the Chinese protestors is in fact a chief minister for Kedah and voted into office by the public. You said he is an idiot, well in my simple mind only idiots will vote for an idiot. This is more than amusing, it’s hysterical, unbelievable for a democratic country.

    1. Hahahaha… You are a real joker! Find out who is his father first… Thanks for the hilarious joker that u are.

      1. His father is the ex prime minister of Malaysia, please correct if I am wrong. To us outsiders we only know that Malaysia is a democratic country with freedom of press. Funn called a minister out in office by Popular vote as an “IDOIT” so what should we outsiders make of the rest of the Malaysian authorities including those who have made do many conflicting remarks from day one. The recent one is “Oops we just realised from radar readings that the plane had flown quicker and should have used up fuel faster. Sorry guys the plane had gone down in another area of the Indian Ocean and all of you have searched in the wrong parts for several days. ” I am not an expert but after 3 weeks I would have expected all radar readings to have been studied thoroughly to prevent more errors. Yes I am laughing very hard because the country who led the search will be handed a very hefty bill unless the participating countries decide to be lenient.

      2. “PUT IN OFFICE” and my typo error doesn’t cost me a cent.

      3. I don’t think that countries would be lenient.

      4. I will not say anymore on the opinion of ONE man who was at best speculating and you seem to think his ONE opinion validates everything.

As for the radar, etc, I don’t know, truly. You gotta ask the international investigative team, not Malaysia since Malaysia is advised by this Investigative team which includes USA, UK, CHINA and some more. Ask them Go, ask them, pls. And then laugh all you want for someone who seems to know so much of what happened, how it happened and where it happened. Because if you know something, pls do inform us. We need all the help we can get. If you don’t, perhaps you should stop mocking the SAR’s effort. What they’re doing is admirable, unlike you.

      5. mar is only announcing, but it is the other countries’ satellites/ships that found the
        ‘evidence’

      6. There is no billing. All these is done with goodwill which is a concept foreign to you.

The ex pm is Mahathir and you can google him the significance of having such a father. And I am sure you have called some of your own politicians idiots as well. Wait! China right? No freedom of press and speech so you can’t call your politicians idiot. Pity. Popular vote doesn’t make him smart, just makes him popular by majority vote.

” I am not an expert but after 3 weeks I would have expected all radar readings to have been studied thoroughly to prevent more errors. ”

I will suggest you volunteer your service to the investigative team. If yon can solve the aviation industry’s greatest mystery, I am sure the rest of us will volunteer to build a great temple in your name and worship you as a living god.

      7. I will suggest you volunteer your service to the investigative team. If yon can solve the aviation industry’s greatest mystery, I am sure the rest of us will volunteer to build a great temple in your name and worship you as a living god.

        Same goes for you.

      8. Why should I? I am not the one writing

” I am not an expert but after 3 weeks I would have expected all radar readings to have been studied thoroughly to prevent more errors. ”

I am not the one questioning the SAR’s actions and analysis and mocking their efforts.

      9. Funn: if I were an expert I would have volunteered my service from day one. You will do yourself a favour by logging onto CNN, BBC, SCMP news online and you will see people are shocked at almost 1week has been wasted searching a wrong area of the Indian Ocean. This is mainly due to incorrect radar reading of how fast and far the plane flew. There’s no need remind me that PRC has limited press freedom and don’t assume I live there. I have access to everything I can find online as you do. Thanks for your suggestion of building a temple in my name but I am too humble to accept your offer. Perhaps you can start a donation champaign to collect funds to build a memorial for the unfortunate people who have died in this plane crash. You will be forever remembered.

      10. Funn: CNN reported that the country leafing the investigation is expected to foot the whole bill for looking for the plane including those incurred by other participating countries. But the latter may choose to donate their service. Even the Malaysian authorities have declared that so far no discussion as been done on this issue. Do you have insider’s knowledge that all the countries who participated will not bill your government since you are so sure there will be no billing.

      11. Yeah I do. Australian PM just said he and the other others countries dispatched the ships and planes at their own cost. Perhaps you might try to read the latest news rather than rehash the ones weeks ago.

      12. Funn: The billing issue I mentioned was reported in SCMP on 3/27 and updated on 3/28 and the Malaysian acting transport minister confirmed that they have not even discussed $$$. Oh the Australian government as you said have now confirmed for all countries involved that nobody will bill your government. How generous if it’s true or perhaps they realise it will be just result in bad debts.

      13. country representatives may not want to bill the government, but the people who lives in the 26 countries may not think that way.
We are already see a crew member filing a lawsuit, some familes taking in a lawsuit against MAS.

    2. Funn: a Goodwill is not a concept which is foreign to me. People who do charitable work do not have to announce to the public and seek for acknowledgement. Have you heard of this “the happiest thing in life is to be able to help to bring a smile to someone who is less fortunate than yourself”.

      1. Then perhaps you should show goodwill to fellow commenters.

      2. Funn: Same to you. Your criticisms and one sided comments on this plane crash have shown the best side of human nature and generosity plus utmost goodwill to all those who have shown support for the Chinese people on this website. By the way anyone with access to a computer and wifi or land line connection in PRC can read CNN, BBC, NST, SCMP news online uncensored so the people are not exactly ignorant of what’s happening.

“@MarySchiavo The willingness to inform the families the plane was lost without a piece of physical evidence & bad data is inexcusable #mh370”
@nihonmama pretty much everything done by Makaysian authorities related to #MH370 has been a massive failure #mh370

    1. ““@MarySchiavo The willingness to inform the families the plane was lost without a piece of physical evidence & bad data is inexcusable #mh370″”

They have been advised by the international investigative team. So ALL of them should be inexcusable. Not just Malaysia.

“@nihonmama pretty much everything done by Makaysian authorities related to #MH370 has been a massive failure #mh370”

And that should include every member of the SAR team as well as the investigative team which includes several nations, some of whom have vast experience including France.

The plane went down in one of the most inhospitable and difficult place to find and trace. Who can do better? Because so many countries, Australia included and none could find anything. Next comes the US with their high tech equipments, China and its grandly named vessels and what nots and many many machines, vessels, planes. Massive failure belongs to the majority of the world helping, not Malaysia alone. I don’t think any country will do any better in light of the circumstances because these other countries are already participating and they could do no better. The only difference between the naysayers and the rest of the world is the rest of the world recognises how difficult the task is whilst the naysayers will continue to criticise every single action taken but not admitting any other action will come to the same wall, the same difficulty, the same danger. Yes we were inept, we were incompetent in the beginning but now we are learning. Malaysians themselves are questioning certain actions, certain decisions but not now. Now is crunch time to find the black box.

      1. my bet is they wont find the black box? why? wrong area to search. some of the debris found was just fishing material. lols

      2. They’re no longer looking for debris. They’re looking at where the plane went down, likelihood of the black box should be around that area which is still very big but with calmer waves and better weather. The debris will assist in pin point the search area.

      3. some debris was not related to it. back to square one.

    2. “they have done nothing to be praised upon.”

or to be criticised upon, by your logic.

I won’t disagree with the incompetent child. We never had such a tragedy before with such baffling facts. So we are child, seeking jelpe, being guided, and incompetent. But next time if there is such an incident again for another country, like how France was, Malaysia then can share its experience like how France is. But what I want France to share is how they deal with the 2 year wait. I am sure the families will benefit greatly from their experience from this angle.

    3. P/S By the rules, MAS is not allowed to be involved in the investigative team. So their duty is to be carer and nothing else. Malaysia being the country of origin is to lead the investigations. But that is a nice way of putting it when in reality it is obvious Malaysia is being advised by these investigative team and SAR teams are instructed by the findings of this team.

  31. Oh look even a family member of the CREW is participating in the lawsuit!!

The husband of a crew member of missing Malaysian Air Flight 370 asked a state court in Illinois to order Boeing Co. and the airline to turn over data and documents to assist in preparation for a possible lawsuit, the second such petition by the same Chicago law firm.

The petition was filed today in Chicago on behalf of Lee Khim Fatt, whose wife, Foong Wai Yueng, was a member of the cabin crew on the plane that vanished March 8 after taking off from Kuala Lumpur bound for Beijing.

    1. Expected but the angle seems to be mechanical fault? Isn’t that a bit too early?

    2. The reason most (probably all) are filing in US is because of the fact that compensation would be higher than filing elsewhere. And they can only file in US by suing Boeing which is made in US.

      1. I never did see it that way prior to your post. Now I know why the lawyers were demanding for details about the planes. So if it is proven it is not plane problem, then these other families (not USA) can’t join the class action suit? They have to go back to their own country of origin? Very enlightening.

  32. 1. it’s the Chinese media, not the American or western media, who are complaining the loudest about the Malaysian government’s handling of this situation..

2.the Malaysians in the first week didn’t just hold back hypotheses from the public, they held back actual information from the people conducting the search. A week was wasted searching the Gulf of Thailand when the Malaysians knew the plane had turned west.

    3. at the moment, there’s no evidence that the plane caused the crash

  33. They’re no longer looking for debris. They’re looking at where the plane went down, likelihood of the black box should be around that area which is still very big but with calmer waves and better weather. The debris will assist in pin point the search area.

the debris that are floating were found to be unrelevant. some of it were fishing debris.

  34. the “debris fields” they have been spending the last week searching for (but never found) are not from the plane. If they can make that determination without even finding a piece to investigate, they should have been able to find the plane.

  35. will never know the fate on MH370 and the passengers and crew.

  36. It happen in 3 march 2014 ,the 6 anniversary of 308 election in 2008 ,

I done by ban government is put to blame on anwar and Pakistan.

China can boycott all Malaysia artist but please do not boycott namewee ,he support Pakatan.

  37. ez to blame n boycott other country..its juz like natural disaster..china ppl cannot accept the fact that god love all passenger on the plane..

  38. Dear Zhang Zhang Ziyi & celebrity friends,

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? – Matthew 7:3

This 4 of June, the world will remember the 25th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre.

Have you demanded the truth from your government too? Don’t you think those who stood on the protest line, family and the world have the right to know what really happened?

I reckon it will be much easier to get an answer as it was caused by human rather than a natural disaster.

So please use your Weibo influence and power for good….

  39. people criticize chinese government on a daily basis that has nothing to do with them. chinese criticize them on this incident and they go berserk like the philipines hostage crisis awhile ago.

  40. I have read the comments and would like to add my penny.
    @Mockinggenius and Thinner

Why are you two crucifying Funn Lim

I suspect that Funn does not like me, and that is alright. What I will not do is keep quiet about you trying to bully her. In the past you have threatened her and others here on the forum, even the forum’s owner and moderator, Jayne do not think what Funn wrote is insensitive in any way to the Chinese or anyone . What you are doing to Funn is cruel, and could be considered bullying. Yes a plane has crashed, and everyone is grieving. I too send my condolences to the families of EVERY victim who was on that flight, no matter which country they are froEmotions can run high when people need answers, but for the Chinese government to encourage the families of victims to protest against the Malaysian government is very disrespectful to the dead victims, all of them. China is not the only country that lost loved ones.

Then all this talk about the Chinese wanting a Malaysian born contestant to go home from a singing completion, china planning to boycott, Malaysian products, not wanting to support Malay artists, not wanting Malaysians coming into China, that is totally irrelevant and should have no connection to the crash.

  41. Is this the first time an airline crashed? MAS was never even listed as one of the airlines with crash rate. Korean Air and China airlines is the highest. One is a bimbo and the other a moron. Geese. Please go to school and expand your critical thinking rather than just reading your scripts.

    1. look at 1977 incident and if they cant solve that incident, how likely will they find this one?

  42. “Even before the crash, Malaysia Airlines’ parent company had lost money the last three years, including a huge loss of more than $350 million in 2013, in part because of its terrible management. ”

yup inevitable truth. it plays out in how there are consecutive accidents within these couple of weeks
