After returning from New York City, former Miss Hong Kong, Mandy Cho Man Lei, announced she will be getting married this year! She will be joining the socialite circles by marrying Finance prodigy, Cheung Ka Kit. The couple have known each other for five years.
In 2007, Mandy had dated TVB colleague, Stephen Huynh Wong Cheung Hing. After splitting from Stephen, she dated Yu Man Fung’s older brother, Yu Shu Kei. However, it turned out that Cheung Ka Kit appeared in Mandy’s life even before she dated Stephen and Mr. Yu.
While studying a jewelry appraisal course in New York City in 2005, Mandy met and dated Ka Kit. The pair dated for two years, but broke up due to Ka Kit’s workaholic habits. After the relationship ended, the pair remained friends.
Six months ago, Mandy and Ka Kit started dating again. When Mandy travelled to New York City earlier, Ka Kit proposed in Central Park with a 3 carat ring. Ka Kit even arranged for his friend to secretly tape the entire proposal!

Congratulations to Mandy.
A number of HK starlets have married into rich family i.e. Gigi Lai, Michelle Reis, Melissa Ng etc. I have no quabbles with it as ultimately this is a personal choice and matter.
The most important thing is that they are born of true love and not out of materialistic needs, an issue only the individuals involved knows best and can answer to. Us outsiders really don’t have a say in the matter.
Sometimes true love is difficult to find. I think most women would be willing to marry if there is mutual caring or if the man offers a certain level of security. Money does offer financial security.
Also most artists go into the entertainment industry for fame and fortune, so it is natural to want to marry into a secure financial future.
On a side note, I think Mandy’s bf looks like Yao Ming.
Wow, he’s really fugly. But then again, Mandy’s career in the entertainment industry isn’t exactly going anywhere so she’s smart to marry into money now. But seriously…. she couldn’t find someone a little bit better looking?
I always the 2003 Miss Hong Kong Pregeant just to see Mandy. She had been my favourite actress since then. A few years later I was intersted in English music, so I left her. Now this is big news for her and me. I hope the wedding goes well. ^.^
