Celebrity Weddings: Heidi Chu and Dickens Lam

Miss Hong Kong 2001 Second Runner-Up, Heidi Chu Hoi Ting got married with her pilot boyfriend of five years, Dickens Lam on September 23rd. The couple held their wedding celebration at a hotel, with deep purple as their theme color. Over four hundred guests attended Heidi and Dickens’ wedding.

Heidi wore a one-and-half carat diamond ring. In addition, the bride wore a pearl necklace and diamond bracelet valued at $500,000 (HKD).  During the photograph session, Heidi and Dickens locked lips for a lengthy time, like a pair of sweet kissing fish.

Heidi’s bridesmaids included Selena Li Sze Wan, Kayi Cheung Ka Yee, Aimee Chan Yan Mei, Mandy Cho Man Lei, Priscilla Chi, and other former Miss Hong Kong contestants. The bridesmaids wore elegant purple dresses in different designs. Heidi’s good friends Margie Tsang Wah Sin, Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming, Lai Lok Yi, Jack Wu Lok Yin, and On Tak Chuen also attended the wedding.

In the early morning bridal games, Heidi had requested her bridesmaids to keep the games mild for the groom. The bridal party refused to disclose the amount of the lucky packet Dickens gave, but the figure carried an auspicious longevity theme.

Bridesmaid Mandy Cho will be getting married in October and was very happy to receive some cash at Heidi’s wedding.

Jayne: Honestly, I do not have a deep impression of Heidi Chu and her roles. But the couple looked lovely, so wanted to share their wedding news. I love the wedding theme color of deep purple, although the dress designs themselves do not complement each other. Also love Heidi’s wedding bouquet!

  1. I like these color theme in weddings. I friend recently has a blue color theme wedding. 😀

Interesting that her bridesmaids did not include her fellow pageant contestants of year 2001. She was more friends with contestants from other years.

I was rooting for Heidi Chu that year, but, Shirley Yeung won. I found her very intelligent and she answered the Q&A question very well (I’m a sucker for contestants that did well in Q&A). Maybe she lost in looks and body. Shirley was very cute and the hot favourite at that time.

After the pageant, she mostly do hosting work with small roles in series.

Congrats to Heidu Chu. Wish her has a happy marriage.

  2. Congrats to Heidi! I barely remember her in any series! I think her strength is in her communication skills and I think that is why I remember her most in hosting and MC jobs!

  3. I have heard of her name since she was a MS HK contestant but have not really seen any of her works. Congrats to her and liked her theme color and how the dresses were all different instead of the same. That is something different since the bridemaids usually wear the same exact dress. I really like her wedding dress as well. Really pretty dress!

  4. TVB has never put her into any series if I remember correctly. Instead, she does a lot of hosting for travel shows, variety shows, etc. She also does A LOT of voice over narrative work for the big shows.

  5. @ Carriec. I’ve seen her in series before, but, they are all very small roles.

  6. most unmemorable year – 2008. Edelweiss Cheung didn’t even fulfill her duties. What a disgrace.

    Thanks for the news Kidd.
