Louis Koo Is Latest Addition to “Lies Hunter” Cast

Youku’s 2026 Hong Kong-style suspense headline drama Lies Hunter <狩謊> has been revealing its cast list day by day in a “blind box” format, surprising netizens time and again — with its latest Easter egg being Best Actor Louis Koo (古天樂) joining the cast in a cameo role!

“Lies Hunter” Boasts a Cinematic Configuration

After the 2001 TVB classic A Step into the Past <尋秦記>, Louis made a cameo appearance in the ViuTV drama IT Dog 2.0 <IT狗2.0> this year, with many viewers waiting for him to return to filming series again.

Lies Hunter stars popular mainland Chinese actor Cheng Yi (成毅) in the lead role, playing psychologist Lin Yanting, who has a dual personality. To clear his father’s name, he enters the police force as a consultant to investigate a series of interconnected lie cases. Aside from the highly anticipated male lead, the drama’s behind-the-scenes team and supporting cast are nothing short of a cinematic, top-tier configuration. The series marks the first time Cold War <寒戰> series Hong Kong Film Award Best Director Sunny Luk (陸劍青) has directed a TV drama, with Eric Tsang (曾志偉) personally serving as producer.

Top-tier Hong Kong and Mainland Acting Talent

What has drama fans most excited is that this premium short series, consisting of only 18 episodes, has actually assembled top-tier acting talent from both Hong Kong and mainland China. In addition to Louis Koo’s powerful addition, the cast also includes Best Actress Anita Yuen (袁詠儀), Best Actress Michelle Wai (衛詩雅), Best Actor Eric Tsang, Xu Zheng (徐崢), Zhang Songwen (張頌文), Shawn Yue (余文樂), and former TVB “ratings lucky charm” and Best Actor Bobby Au-yeung (歐陽震華).

It’s worth mentioning that “Auntie” Carmen Lee (李若彤) also appears in the lineup. Louis Koo and Carmen Lee once played Yang Guo and Little Dragon Maiden in the 1995 version of The Return of the Condor Heroes <神鵰俠侶>, becoming a classic on-screen couple in the hearts of countless viewers. This time, the two are both appearing in Lies Hunter.
