I’ll always remember him as Wong Yeuk-si. When I saw him in Rush Hour 2, I didn’t realize his English was so good. At the time, I didn’t know he was in the US for school. RIP.

The last time I had been in China was in 2005. I’m pretty sure it has changed since then. Whether good or bad I’m not sure. If you went to the big city, it was nice. Like any city, it has the bad neighborhood etc but could still be improved.

I could say the same for Brad Pitt. I never found him good looking at all nor did I ever see his appeal. Many young women (during my time) fawned over him. My female classmates thought I was weird for not liking Brad Pitt.

My dad hated communism with a passion as he lived during Mao’s Cultural Revolution era. If I remember correctly, my dad said that the only good that came out of communism China was Deng Xiao Ping which opened the country. The only thing that tarnished his reputation was how he handled the Tiananmen Incident (remembered as June 4 incident).

It seems like Xi Jinping wants to be Mao 2.0. At this point, I am glad that my father is not alive to see this and what is happening to Hong Kong. He was a strong supporter of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan being independent of Mainland China.

Whether or not either of them is Chinese does it matter? What is “authentic” Chinese? There are many actresses and actors from HK that have European ancestry ie: Anthony Wong, Karen Mok (if I remember has Welsh ancestry) and Sonjia Kwok (has British ancestry). As the relationship works for them, who cares?

For me, Fan Bingbing’s crime is more forgivable than this guy (not that tax evasion is a good thing). Crimes against children and using drugs to rape anyone is despicable.

Didn’t she have a baby? Perhaps she would like to spend time with her child before it’s too late to get to know her child? I assume she’s a more hands on mother than most celebrities who prefer to have nannies to look after them.
