Karena Ng Trades Raymond Lam for Alex Lam in Upcoming Comedy “Hello Babies”

After their collaboration in last year’s 3D horror movie Baby Blues <詭嬰吉咪>, real-life couple Raymond Lam (林峯) and Karena Ng (吳千語) will reunite for Hello Babies <六福喜事>, a comedy film that opens in theaters on January 11, 2014.

Written and directed by Vincent Kok (谷德昭), Hello Babies will tell how members of the older generation, eager for the arrival of a grandson on whom to dote, find ways to urge the younger generation to bear children. Lei Ming (Raymond Wong Pak Ming 黃百鳴), a Malaysian businessman, is disappointed to discover that his sworn enemy, Yang Awei (Eric Tsang 曾志偉), is expecting a grandson. As a result, Lei Ming pushes his grand-nephew to carry on the family line, threatening to cut off his living funds if there is no progress. He even hires a “superstar midwife” (Sandra Ng 吳君如) to supervise the couple’s love life.

Hello Babies will feature Karena as a young, pregnant mother, marking the first time she has taken on such a role. To the surprise of many, her character is married not to Raymond Lam, but to singer-actor Alex Lam (林德信), who is playing Yang Awei’s son. Lei Ming’s unfortunate grand-nephew and grand-niece-in-law will be portrayed by Ronald Cheng (鄭中基) and Fiona Sit (薛凱琪).

Raymond Lam will reportedly have a guest appearance in Hello Babies, though his character’s role has not yet been revealed. In a set of recently released stills, he was seen facing off against Ronald Cheng, who is playing a doctor. Other cast members include Lynn Hung (熊黛林) and Yu Bo (于波).
