20 Candidates Compete in Miss Hong Kong 2022

Preparations for Miss Hong Kong 2022 continue to move along. Earlier, TVB executives Eric Tsang (曾志偉) and Virginia Lok (樂易玲) commented that this year’s candidates were of high caliber who greatly surpass last year’s applicants. Perhaps it was not an exaggeration after all, as the selection for the pageantry has moved to its third round of interviews. This is a rare occurrence, as there are typically only two interviews to select the pageant pool.

One of the hot favorites this year is Sharon Ying (邢慧敏), who is currently working as a model and is both a friend and colleague of Shiga Lin (連詩雅). Another hot contender is Hong Kong actor Wilson Lam’s (林俊賢) daughter, 27-year-old Denice Lam (林卓錡). Arriving for their third interviews, Sharon and Denice both stole the show with their charm, looks, and luxury brand accessories.

Twenty-two year old Khaki Leung (梁家琪) is nominated by TVB actress Florence Kwok (郭秀雲). Son Ye Jin look-a-like, Leung Chiu Yi (梁超怡), is a Hong Kong native who immigrated to the United States at the age of 14. She studied marketing at Northern Illinois University. Another contestant who has caught the media’s attention is Kary, who changed her image from young and cute during the second interview, to mature and womanly for the third interview.

After the initial rounds of the interviews, 20 contestants have been selected to compete in Miss Hong Kong 2022. The candidates received haircuts and image makeovers before meeting with the press. However, medical resident Chloe was unable to attend due to personal matters.

  1. Wow this year’s contestants are really below average. Usually each year I’m able to find at least a few that I think are attractive but this year, most of them have some type of feature that throws off their facial proportion. Quite odd actually. I think the only ones that look decent is Leung Chiu Yi, the American girl that can’t do her eye makeup right (I’m from the US and it doesn’t justify her look like she said lol), the girl that said her eyes are her best feature (but I don’t think she has the elegance to place), and MAYBE Yohanna but her mouth is so so big… it’s a bit overwhelming on her face. The girl with the explosive hair, omg. What on earth was the stylist thinking?!! How can ANYONE think that that is ok?! Makes her look like an 80s old fashioned housewife with that hairdo. I would cry if I got that hairstyle but I understand she probably was afraid to speak up. Somebody needs to say something though. Regardless, she’s not going to place either. Her Cantonese is not good and no charm from the interview. Very shockingly disappointed with this year’s selection of contestants.

    1. Virginia Lok & Eric Tsang says this years contestants are high calibre , they need to get glasses

There’s not one that’s’s outstanding, Really below average in appearance

    2. I was thinking the same but didn’t want to say anything negative … as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, maybe someone else finds them attractive, whew, at least I am not the only one who thinks they are not

  2. Three rounds of interviews because of not the we reason stated in be the red article. No lies can cover the truth, people can judge by themselves

  3. In the past, this competition is a means to get rich men sponsors or a TVB contract or both…Now, this is platform is also use to increase their online presence and increase their ‘ influencer’ status.

  4. The contestant Actually kinda below average, below average is not that they are ugly, its just not miss hk kind of material.. Past years at least there are several pretty contestant. In the interview I duno why I got the impression they just got their hair done and barely wake up. Even a few of them their eye so sleepy.. Maybe just me having such impression
