Chilam Cheung Works Hard and Plays Hard

Career and leisure are both just as important for Chilam Cheung (張智霖). On July 29, reporters spotted him at a café in Tai Hang with two women, eating happily while discussing about work. Two days later, Chilam spent time enjoying a nice day out at sea with his son.

At the café, Chilam and one of the women were discussing over a business proposal. Since his popularity continues to soar with the broadcast of Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II>, he is getting many work opportunities. Although the focus of the meeting was for career purposes, Chilam did not fail to entertain the two women. In just half an hour into their teatime, both women were all smiles and laughs. As soon as Chilam spotted reporters snapping photos nearby, he quickly paid the bill and stepped into a van parked nearby.

Since Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) is busy in mainland China promoting her new series, Chilam is responsible for taking care of their son. On July 31, Chilam took his son water surfing along with Calvin Choi (蔡一智), two other women, and another child. Chilam’s son is only six years old, but he jumped into the water by himself and was determined to start surfing. Even though it took him many tries before getting on the surfboard successfully, it was an enjoyable process and he laughed loudly.

As a frequent surfer, Chilam is full of experience and possesses great skills. He carefully watched over his son the entire time. When it was Chilam’s turn to get into the water, his son cheered for him loudly on the boat. Two hours later, the group retreated to the shore. Chilam was seen wrapping a towel around his son to keep him warm. As someone who likes his privacy, Chilam told the group to board a van as soon as he noticed reporters.

Bright Future Ahead?

Chilam’s management contract with Jet Tone Productions has ended, and although having collaborated with the company for many years, he has allegedly decided not to renew the contract. According to tabloids, Chilam plans to collaborate with Hong Kong film producer, Stephen Shiu Jr (蕭定一). Their company initially offered Chilam $50 million HKD, but now that his popularity is increasing immensely and many companies are also interested in him, Stephen will reportedly offer a greater amount. In addition, he promised Chilam could film two movies, release a record album, and hold a concert each year.

According to feng shui master, Lam Bing Nam (林柄南), Chilam’s career will experience a peak every five years. He revealed, “Chilam’s life path represents wood. He is afraid of pressure and loves his freedom. It is better for him to take breaks in his career and enjoy his lifestyle. He has a good life, because every time he devotes himself to work, he will receive a good response. He doesn’t need to work continuously, and so there shouldn’t be much pressure. He does not have a bad temper and is nice to those around him. Approximately every five years, his career will reach a peak.”

  1. Feng Shui guy just looked at his past and made an assessment

    1. I agree and many are taking this feng shui way too far…

  2. Good luck, Chilam. He seems to be a very nice guy, and he is handsome too.

    1. yup, he really looks like a kind person. I can never get bored just looking at his face. hahaha

    1. Urgh. Tell that to my mum and she’d chew your ear off.

      1. I could quite willingly turn a blind eye to feng shui – like I do with religion – if only it was free. I hope my mum doesn’t regret it, but at least it gives her some peace of mind. For now.

      2. My mom is really religious but would not do any physical harm to anyone who does not believe in what she does. That is just not right.

      3. Haha, fret not! It’s an expression that simply means she’d talk and talk… and talk. To the point your ears actually feel like dropping off. (I should save myself the hassle and just go chop it off already.)

Agree with your sentiment though. Sadly, religion and physical harm does seem to go hand in hand in some places of this world. Fortunately, there are a few sane ones who remind me that religion’s not all bad.

  3. Am sure every person experiences ups and downs. Every 5 years – peak? Lame feng shui

    1. Yes, everyone goes through ups and downs in their lives but sadly some go through more downs than ups and vice versa…. This feng shui stuff is so BS…
