Jeannie Chan Unafraid of Anita Yuen’s Possessiveness

Although she possesses an active lifestyle, Jeannie Chan (陳瀅) has recently fallen in love with cooking. She used to mostly shop at supermarkets, but lately Jeannie prefers visiting wet markets for the wide selection and especially the fresh seafood. She even has a few favorite stalls that she is a regular at visiting.

Jeannie shared that she enjoys inviting friends over to try her cooking. When asked if her rumored boyfriend, Kalok Chow (周嘉洛), was among those guests, she laughed and said there were both male and female friends. She once cooked for a group of eight, “More than eight people is hard, because I don’t have a domestic helper. The toughest part is cleaning up the dishes and floors.” She joked that her friends did not help, “Once I told them off for being picky–they’re already not paying or cleaning up.”

She also revealed that a group of friends celebrated Brian Chu’s (朱敏瀚) birthday last year at her place. After dinner, they stayed to watch a soccer match and she joked they were so loud the neighbors complained. When asked if her newfound love of cooking was in preparation for becoming a housewife, Jeannie laughed and said she was just learning for herself, “I cook for myself. I’m good at western food and pasta. Many people who have tried my pasta praised it. I even want to challenge myself by joining a cooking competition such as Beautiful Cooking <美女廚房> or Culinary Class Wars.”

Jeannie will be filming for drama Radiant City <璀璨之城> soon and has dyed her hair blonde for the first time in her life. The series was originally scheduled to begin filming this month but has been postponed to June so she has been washing her hair less to try maintain the color. Jeannie will have many scenes with Chilam Cheung (張智霖) and Samantha Ko (高海寧) in the new drama. Jeannie is looking forward to her first time working with Chilam. She revealed they will have some intimate scenes. When asked if she was worried that Chilam’s wife, Anita Yuen (袁詠儀), might be on set monitoring, Jeannie said it was just part of the job and there were television limitations anyway.

Known for playing pranks on senior actors and sharing the videos with fans, Jeannie is looking forward to doing so again, “People ask if I’m scared to prank such senior actors and I usually brush it off saying I don’t think they’re that petty! I usually wait until filming is almost done so we’re more familiar and they can’t seek revenge.”
